Beautiful food and fab service worth a visit and revisit. Had the anniversary menu and it was lovely with good selection to choose from and fast service and worth every penny.
Set lunch menu £12,95? for 3 courses.... absolutely gorgeous... good ambiance....tasty and flavoursome food....good service... attentive but not intrusive... would chose Cote in York every time.... family occasion, meal for two, group celebration.
Good, tasty food in pleasant surroundings. Service was a little hit and miss. Didn't like the fact that for a table of 4 a service charge was added to the bill.
Food was very nice. However our waiter was extremely miserable and didn't smile once. Good location in the Shambles with the Minster being 30 seconds walk!
Wonderful food, we had the early bird menu which is very good value for money. The food was lovely and the staff were very friendly
Really great service and lovely food. Particularly good with our little one (5 years old), who enjoyed the sausage and mash. Good selection of dishes on the menu, and good wine selection too.
There was fantastic atmosphere. Food and wine was excellent. Professional service. Portions of ideal volume, you will not go out overfull or hungry. Nothing bad to say.
Very good set menu but prefer service charge left to discretion, like to Sit at the front of the restaurant because it has more atmosphere
I had previously ate in your restaurant in Wimbledon village and really enjoyed it. My husband is a chef and was very impressed with the food and service there. I went with my daughter to York and she loved the food as much and me. However the first waiter we had I felt uncomfortable with, wasn't as professional as I expected. However another man replaced him who was very nice. My first kir was very weak but the second I asked for had more cassis in.
We went for breakfast at about 10.15 Sunday morning. The food was up to the usual excellent standard. On the downside there appeared to be only two front of house staff on duty which made it difficult to attract there attention.
No interaction or friendly ness !! from the young man / waiter that served us ! Very snooty He hardly spoke & We all felt very rushed !! As if he wanted us out we all felt uncomfortable . Spoilt our eve . We enjoyed the food & have been a number of times to cote & have always enjoyed it , usually the staff are good . Except for this time
A very good evening spent for my husband and myself and two friends. Service was good, food excellent. Overall atmosphere in restaurant good, not too noisy. Will certainly visit again.
Thoroughly enjoyable evening. The Food was delicious & of a very high standard the service was exceptional. We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends & family.
Great food, atmosphere like a proper French bistro. Good service, too. That's why we keep coming back, both to York and to Kensington. Few restaurant groups manage this consistency.
Very friendly service and fantastic tasty food would highly recommend We had a meal booked for Sunday evening and the restaurant was not to busy just a very nice ambience
We were at the restaurant for my son's birthday. We all enjoyed our meals and it was a lively pleasant atmosphere. The staff were polite and helpful.
Did not realise that there was no fixed price menu on Sundays, but reasonable prices and great tasting food with good service. What more could you want!
As always, a nice welcome! Good atmosphere... good food except the chocolat fondant (desert) was a little bit cold. Otherwise the service was good. We've been few time and we are not disappointed...
Excellent food and friendly understated service. Great wine list, extensive menu (three menus for food! Possibly slight overkill?) Nice ambience, not too crazy busy for a bank hols weekend.
Best value breakfast and tastiest too! Can't beat it! Very helpful attentive waiters, quick service. Gluten free well catered for. Cannot fault it at all!
The food was lovely and the staff were really polite and attentive. A thoroughly impressive experience compared to some other restaurants! Fillet steak was beautifully cooked and the free amuse bouche was a delicious surprise!
Excellent food, and service was very good. Enjoyed my 50th with you & shall return again . Our only complaint, was the poor standard of hygiene in the toilets
Lovely experience from initial greeting onward. Welcoming. Excellent service from friendly professional waiting staff. Tasty choice in the brilliant value set menu selection. Well cooked and right sized portions. Great value and delivers above the price.
Good food good service excellent value pre theatre menus. Nice bistro environment. Very clean with linen napkins. Good range of choices on menu and wine list
Very friendly staff. The Manageress recognised us and gave us a very warm welcome. The food as ever was excellent and the service first class. We have booked in a couple of weeks for a friend's 65th birthday and I am sure she will love the experience.
Excellent value for money meal. Set 3 course menu.. Always a good choice of dishes on each course. Resonable priced wine by the bottle. Staff are always very friendly & welcoming. Don't mind paying the surcharge. Good evening out.
Very good food. The king prawns were delicious. Sirloin steak tender and juicy. Good atmosphere and excellent service. Staff attentive. Only problem small portion size of potatoes and chips.Well worth a visit
We had a table of 6 and we all really enjoyed our brunch. The French breakfast really hit the spot. This wasn't our first visit and we will definitively be back. My 2 year old knocked her glass of OJ off and the glass smashed which was a bit embarrassing. Dealt with swiftly.
