The service was excellent (as usual). Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Overall a really enjoyable and relaxing experience. Cote Brasserie is to be recommended.

Lovely place, with a great atmosphere excellent service and lovely food. Good value set menu. Lovely langoustines starter and steak and chip's. Hubby loved the seafood linguine. Would defo recommend

Good food, professional service, very friendly staff. Fairly quiet on a Monday night but restaurant is in a good location in York, very close to the Minster.

Nice restaurant with great attentive service. Food ok. Had the fish pie. It was nice but no veg served with it and could have been a little hotter. Not a bad experience but there are better value restaurants in York.

Beautiful food. Great atmosphere. Love going. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants in york. Good value but watch out for 12.5% they add for service. We request for this to be removed and leave our own tip.

Really lovely ,nice staff excellent food my husband loved the moulles my chicken was very tasty and my daughter's belly pork was very tasty ,and the deserts were very good crumble could have been hotter but ok

Booked table and were shown to it immediately on arrival. 20 minute wait to order from that point. It was a busy time but 20 mins was too long .

Food excellent as always.Service good but a little slower than we are used to but the presence of a large coach party perhaps explains this. Given this party was pre booked extra staff might have been considered. We will return as always

Excellent meal and service. Had the 10 year anniversary menu. The Bretton seafood was the best I have ever tasted! 3 courses and a glass of champagne for £27.00 fantastic value!

Food was generally OK, service slow and inattentive despite quiet restaurant. Kids menu would benefit from some desserts. 2 of the three Steak Frites were good the third had a lump of gristle. Not a fan of adding service to the bill even if optional should be left to the discretion of the diner.

The best Cotes meal we've ever had. Service was attentive but not overbearing, food was delicious and the merlot excellent. We will definitely call again next time we visit York.

We enjoyed the 10th Anniversary menu. Crab mayo, steak tartare, fish stew, and ribeye steak - although the steak was quite tough. Complimentary champagne, and dessert wine. Always a pleasure to eat at Cote.

Very poor service from our waiter.So unusual for any Cote restaurant .The waiter was more interested in serving a large group who he assumed would tip a lot more than 2 diners

A popular place. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and well presented. Really good wine list as well as choice of food.

As usual very good in York excellent friendly staff who looked after us all our meals were good we like the anniversary menu with bubbles

Good food, good service, always consistent. We visited last week for a birthday lunch, the new July menu gave great choice and we enjoyed it so much we had 3 courses!!

As ever, nice food, nice atmosphere and good service. We've enjoyed Cote in London and now, as we move to York, are pleased that we'll be able to continue to do so.

Very poor experience. We arrived on time but had to wait 10-15 minutes for our table. Male waiter/duty manager was surly and rude. We were put on the worst table next to the toilets. Same waiter was then rude to my wife when discussing the wine options and walked off. We realise it was a busy time but nevertheless you expect a minimum standard. If we had been late arriving I'm sure our table would have been cancelled. Will never go to Cote again - suggest you do the same.

Consistently good. The calamari starter is so tasty. The fries are dry and crispy, and the crime brûlée is very smooth and creamy. The service is always excellent.

We booked this meal to celebrate my birthday, taking advantage of the free Kir royale. On entering the restaurant we were very quickly greeted and shown to a table. The menu was quickly delivered and the free drinks were served. We made our choices from the menu and enjoyed a bowl of very tasty and juicy olives while we waited for our mains. I chose the fish parmentier and my husband the steak-frites. We were both happy with our choices. The parmentier was packed with fish and prawns and there was just enough topping without it being too heavy. My husband enjoyed his steak-frites, which he has ordered on previous occasions. He was very happy with the quality of the steak which was very tender. We then shared the cheese platter instead of having a dessert. Having chosen this option before we were aware how generous the portions are so we opted to share and were quite full! The service was, as always, very friendly and efficient. We will certainly return.

We eat out regularly in York but this was our first experience at Cotes. We booked on a recommendation. Wow what a fantastic experience. We were welcomed by friendly staff,our table was brilliant,and the food and service excellent. Can't wait to return!

Food was ok but Service was sporadic and inattentive with most waiting staff looking like they really wanted to be somewhere else. I also object to paying almost £4 for a half pint bottle of beer - start pression!

Consistent with what you expect from cote. Good quality food and generally attentive service. Our starter got forgotten for a while but given how busy they were on a Saturday night, and how apologetic they were (it was taken off the bill spontaneously), it did not matter at all.

We went to Cote to celebrate our son's graduation from York university. The food , atmosphere and service was excellent ! Thank you to our waiter , who looked like Alexis Sanchez !!!

The service was fantastic, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered from the set menu, food was excellent and good value for money.

Regular at this restaurant. Steaks sadly not as great this time but usually good Will definitely return again. Don't like the 12.5% gratuity put on as standard.

Which ever Cote we use throughout the Country we always enjoy and are completely satisfied. Never been disappointed and would always recommend. We enjoy everything particularly the friendly staff.

Excellent ingredients well cooked, as a French Bistro should be. Service was attentive and the layout of the restaurant in very good for quiet lunch-times.

We ate here on a busy Friday evening. We all enjoyed our food but the service was very slow, so much so that 45 minutes after ordering our starter had not arrived. We were given an amuse bouche presumably to keep us ticking over until the starter arrived. Overall, we liked the place and would recommend it.

A good atmosphere and pleasant staff. The location is very close to the Minster which is why we chose it. As always the 'early' menu offered a great choice of well cooked and presented food. Just the right amount to eat in a 3 course supper.

Very good food, great ambience. Service was excellent and menu choice great, especially for an early bird deal. Two of us dined, both enjoyed the food and wine choice was good too.

Everything about the place was great apart from the added 12.5% gratuity added to the bill. I absolutely don't mind 10% being added but 12.5% is just going too far.
