Good service despite a very busy restaurant. Meals from early evening menu were delicious. Disappointed that Apple crumble has been moved to a premium set menu.

York Cote is always good. I’m in there quite a lot, ands it’s great that I get to know the staff. A great restaurant with beautifully cooked food!!

We are always happy with our visits to Cote York - the service is always friendly and efficient, the food is super and the ambience comfortable.

As ever exceptional service, superb understanding of allergens and prompt adaptation of the menu where needed. Heartily recommended to those with Gluten and/or Dairy allergies. Delightful evening out.

Excellent meal as always from what we believe to the the most consistently good chain restaurant. Great value for money fixed price lunch as well!

Just as good as the Manchester one I normally go to. Service amazing for the 6 of us. Food as always brilliant. Will return next time I'm in York.

Lovely food and nice staff although I was brought a different drink that id originally asked for. Also I would have liked to have had the choice of leaving a tip rather than it be already on my bill.

Good food but long wait due to ‘kitchen incident’. Very pleased to have a free bottle of wine after signing up for their newsletter (complementary olives given). Nice atmosphere in restaurant; will certainly go again.

We have been dining at Cote and find it is consistently excellent. One of our main problems is deciding what to choose as most dishes appeal. Subtle menu changes keep us coming back for more.

The celeriac purree was in fact mashed potato! Otherwise the meal was delicious: very nice fillet steak and porcini sauce. What a shame about the purree!

We had a fantastic night out here to celebrate a birthday! The meals were absolutely fabulous, especially the moules!! We all had them! The fish was brilliant and beautifully cooked ...to perfection! We had a bottle of wine with the meal and liqueur coffees to finish! Brilliant night! Our waitress was so helpful and attentive, even though they were very busy on a Friday night! We love coming here and will definitely return soon! Well done!

A family meal with great food, good wine and excellent service (Zainab) and would thoroughly recommend the place. I would certainly re- visit and would have no hesitation in telling others of our great experience.

Not as good as previous visit about 6 weeks ago. Variations in culinary expertise, not as good this time. No bread with the starters. Lunch/early evening menu has been split into 2 price ranges, making it not as appealing. Less choice, was hard to choose something. Vegetarian option sounded dull (though we were not vegetarian and didn't try it) Service from waiters was ok. Alarm went off during service for around 30 seconds, and no members of staff announced what the problem was so diners (including us) were left unaware as to whether there was a fire or smoke emergency. That should have happened but staff kept it to themselves. We both had mussels to start and these were tiny, very tiny but tasty, again no bread with the starter! Why!? The main was minute steak and it was a bit grisly and over seasoned. Fries were nice, as was spinach. Service was quick and suitable for business lunch. I brought a friend for lunch today based on a positive experience with a larger group a few weeks ago. I will not be rushing back...York has an abundance of choice and I really think they have got to be consistent and do well what they do, rather than just (as it seemed today) try to grab the Easter business from Tourists without any consideration of return visits. There were only a few diners in there today, so keep the ones that live locally and will return if the standards and prices are maintained.

Every time we eat at Cote York the food is consistently excellent. The staff at Cote York are lovely; very welcoming, efficient and professional and make our visit very enjoyable.

Disappointed with bill mix-up. Waiter angry with us but his fault. Wine list over-rated and over-priced. Will be considerable time before re-visit if ever. Sorry!

Good attentive service, available when needed but not intrusive. All the staff are very pleasant. The brunch menue is varied and satisfying and well presented.

Our first visit to York Cote easily lived up to the high standard we have found in all other Cotes we have visited. It was a cold evening-but we were immediately looked after by Sam and made to feel welcome. The set menu is still our favourite but we were interested to hear about the new set menu that was being trialled in Cote.

Good food, good service, but noisy from a group of ten other diners close by., otherwise a good atmosphere, will definitely go again in the near future.

I cannot fault anything. The staff were welcoming,helpful, and attentive without being fussy. I needed a gluten-free menu and the choice was superb - most of what was on the main menu was suitable. The food was divine. We borg enjoyed every mouthful. The chicken that I had was very tasty. And the creme brûlée was the best that I’d ever had. Highly recommend

Great food & great service for early on a Sunday evening; a time when effort & enthusiasm can often be at a low ebb. Courteous & unobtrusive waiting staff accompanied by well presented & delicious food.

Always a perfect experience at Côte in York. The staff are very attentive and friendly and the standard of the food is excellent. Definitely worth a visit!

A good meal was spoiled by being seasoned far too much. Could not taste the food for the pepper. Staff and ambience very pleasant. Menu quite varied.

Absolutely delicious food with a fabulous choice of dishes. Everyone in our party loves their meals. We planned to have mains only but ended up all having 3 courses. Lovely polite and professional service from every member of staff that we met. Will be back soon.

WE really enjoyed the lovely foodthat we had which was served promptly. We had made a msitake with our reseravation date but this was not a problem The lovely food was complemented by excellent and very friendly service

Excellent restaurant. Great food and service with a relaxed cafe style atmosphere. Luckily we booked as it was pretty busy for lunch. Fish pie and fish stew were really good. Definitely recommend.

I booked a table for 4 and were given a choice of tables. The service was excellent. Food was superb and reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere. Out first time, but not our last. Definately recommend.

Overall it was an excellent lunch enjoyed by both my mother and me. The staff were very good, friendly and attentive. Food was very good, although my mum found the confit duck a little dry. This is the second time we’ve been to York and would recommend. I would recommend cote any where. I’ve been to Harrogate, Brighton, Exeter and London all have great staff and good affordable food.

We have not been here before and booked it for our wedding anniversary dinner. Lovely meal and staff very polite and friendly, good atmosphere despite it being a very wet Monday night. Will be back.

Lovely Mother's Day brunch with my mother-in-law and daughter, very friendly service. A bargain at £15.95 for breakfast, juice, coffee and a glass of champagne!
