Pleasant setting ,pleasant staff , lovely food , complimentary drink — Wonderful ! Often go and will continue to do so and will recommend to others .

Friendly staff. Very good service. Excellent for but and gluten allergies. Great atmosphere and food. Would definitely recommend. Early bird menu has a good choice and is great value.

Booking arrangements online excellent. Ditto Veal Entrecot and fish dish. Perhaps having to wait over 30 minutes for main course when at a quiet time (8pm) was no so good but otherwise pleasant experience.

I was meeting with former work colleagues after 20 years the restaurant found out and gave us a courtesy glass of Kir which was a nice gesture. The ambience was very good the food was excellent as always and it was a very pleasant evening

Absolutely fantastic evening from the service to the food, I can’t wait to go again! The pork belly was excellent and my partners steak was too. Very impressed with the attentive and friendly staff. All in all, a perfect experience.

Great service and great food; premium set menu was very good value & quality. Only negative was the automatic 12.5% service charge. Would love to return when back in York.

The restaurant is centrally place in the city, very close to the Minster. Service was efficient, and the waitress was attentive. The menu offered a good choice of main dishes, and th food was good and well presented.

I visited the York restaurant with friends and had a delightful lunch. I have used this chain in many cities and have always enjoyed it. York was no exception, good food , attentive service which completely made our day out special. They seem to have the formula correct as the standards are the same wherever I have dined. Well done.

Ordered from the May set menu, 2 Courses. Lovely smoked Mackerel & Beetroot salad. Main course was fried fillet of cod. Lovely piece of fish. No room for desert. Another satisfying visit to Cote

Great service. Great food. Good atmosphere. A busy restaurant in the heart of York. The staff are friendly anf knowledgable. The place gets very busy around 7.30pm but this gives it a real buzz.

This was our first meal in Cotes. We enjoyed some lovely food served by a very pleasant and professional team. Made to feel welcome upon arrival and throughout the meal.

Having visited the same restaurant chain in London and Newcastle, my wife and I were very happy to try out the York venue. We were not disappointed. As usual, the service was very good - the staff are attentive and friendly without being 'in your face' - and the meal (the early bird menu) was its usual self: varied and appealing. The prices are reasonable and we also had a bottle of wine with our meal. The surroundings were attractive and clean - indeed, everything you could want was there. The only quibble I would have is with the automatic addition of a service charge. I understand you can ask for it to be removed but I think it is presumptuous to add it automatically - although when we checked, the service charge does go to the staff. However, as a matter of principle, I prefer to decide how good the service was and determine what the staff get. Notwithstanding that point, we would have no hesitation about eating at one of these restaurants again and would recommend them to others for their overall value, quality of food and friendly service. Our first visit. Lovely meal and excellent friendly service. We will be back. The menu is varied and wines reasonably priced. Plenty of space between table so no crush.

The meal was excellent. The service was quick and friendly helped by a really nice bottle of wine. You do need to remove the requirement of 25 words in a review it is not necessary.

Simple food of good quality lacking in presentation. Pleasant staff who are attentive and helpful. Restaurant was cool on this visit and dampened the atmosphere.

Staff were incredibly attentive and friendly but not over zealous.The food was lovely, we enjoyed all of our courses. A really super menu lots of variation to choice from including the set menu and all reasonably priced.

Good varied choice of menu to suit all tastes, freshly cooked delicious food brought to the table and all for a very reasonable price. Can get packed at week ends so as long as a high level of service can be maintained, this is a really great choice of place to eat.

Attentive service however seating wasn’t ideal as very close to other diners. Food was average stake came out rare not medium rare. TAble was very wonky as well and wobbly Aw we had a food

I lunch here regularly when visiting my daughter and we've never been disappointed. Great food and impeccable service. Look no further than Cote Brasserie for that special meal.

Table in back part of restaurant but a cool and quiet area ....staff attentive but not overbearing...food nicely presented and tasty. On menu...Some more veg/vegan/gluten free options would be appreciated but choice could be made.

Premium set menu was great quality and great price for a Saturday night in York,Buzzing atmosphere and friendly staff too.Much better than the vastly overrated Rustique Restaurants That also offer set price menus.

Had the calamari for starter which was fine, but was totally spoiled by the duck, which was so salty that it totally overpowered the flavour of the meat. Was not charged for the meal, but it still spoiled the experience.

As usual Cote offered good menus (a la carte and the April early menu and a Prestige menu) at reasonable prices. The food was excellent and the service friendly and efficient. An excellent place for lunch or dinner.

Excellent food , good service , a bit slow getting the bill. Will definitely go again. Particularly like the new menus. Great improvement over previous visit last year.

The staff were all very helpful, attentive and friendly. We were a group of eight and mostly chose different dishes. Everyone enjoyed their food and said they would be happy to go again.

Lovely ambience with candlelit tables. Always nice to get linen napkins and not a scrap of paper. Attentive but discreet waiting staff. Food always excellent. Only problem is too much choice .....
