Decided to eat here for my birthday. As usual the food, and service were good with each dish attractively presented. Not too noisy for the time of night. Good value for money. Only gripe is no draught beer only small bottles.

We had an early evening menu because the choice was so good. The food was excellent - we both chose the same - tuna rillettes on sour dough, sea bream as a main then chocolat pots for desserts. We had a bottle of Sauvignon blanc and coffee to finish. The service was attentive but not overly so. It was very good value and we shall go again without a doubt.

Lovely Lunch for 3 of us. V pleasant friendly staff. Great choice of menus (3) Picked Prestige menu. Lovely calamari starter & prawns in white wine sauce. Mains of cod loin wrapped in bacon on olive oil mash. All V tasty & well presented. Nice bottle of Viognier to wash it down. Excellent meal all round.

Great visit, quick and efficient. We had complimentary gin and tonics and the food was fantastic. Sadly the waitress did forget a drinks order but we had finished so we’re happy to leave without them

This time we tried the new fixed price menu. This was really good value. We had two kid Royale cocktail s and olives to start with. My cod main course was delicious. Service was excellent without being obtrusive

On our arrival we told the manager that we'd booked a table for two...he looked around & pointed to a table & said " over there" turned on his heels & went..leaving us to make our way over to the table..other than that the meal was fine. Service was not brilliant... maybe next time we'll go to a Wetherspoons

Very nice location and atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and attentive. The price was reasonable the menu had a good selection to choose from. I will definitely be returning.

Cote brasserie is always consistent, we’ve never had a bad meal there,except that last night the chocolate pots were over cooked, chocolate was very grainy. As always the staff were .lovely and service excellent.

Not only is the food superb the staff are amazing in their care for you in an unobtrusive manner. The ideal place to meet friends for a reasonable priced meal.

Cote York is really fantastic - from the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel special. The quality of food is always consistently excellent regardless of the size of party (and I've used Cote for really large groups of more than 35 people with absolute consistency of food, timing of service etc)).

Had a really good time , great food , top service. Hard not too like. Took two kids and they had a lovely meal of fish goujons and roast chicken. The portion size was excellent - as in just right and not too big. Service was attentive and the attention to detail was nice. Well done to the team.

Enjoyable ,fresh well cooked food provided by cheerful and efficient staff. Cote remains my go to choice for a pleasant ,sociable lunch with family or friends

Last Cote restaurant that I ate at was in Leeds, it was as the York one a very nice experience, staff great, food and drink great, service very efficient also very good ambiance. What more can you ask for, I will be back, thanks. John

as usual great food with service to match. just one observation that we were not shown the early menu options despite a 5.45 booking. One of our favourites though and never disappointed with food.

Excellent food - soup followed by salmon or chicken - and wine - very good friendly service, nice atmosphere. Always a reliable restaurant for a light lunch. Can recommend.

As usual the service was perfect, the food (cod off the summer special) was very good and cooked to perfection. There was no Pamperelle cocktail as it had sold out but we were given kir royales instead which were lovely. The side dishes also were very good. I would (and do) recommend Cote to all my friends.

Excellent restaurant. Food and service consistently good . Excellent choice of menus with an a la carte and two set menus. Chicken is always very good.

Light and airy restaurant with a good selection of food.Recommend the Pampelle spritzas an aperitif .Tuna Nicoise was excellent.Staff were attentive and friendly.Would visit again

Good meal, grumpy waiter. Took the edge off it a bit. He just wasn’t really interested so we had to call him over whenever we needed anything.

Cote is a reliable quality restaurant - you know the quality is consistently good at a fair and reasoanable price. We went to Cote York as a party of 4 and had the prestige menu whcih offered the best value at the time of the evening we went. The service was very good with an especially helpful waiter. We will return.

The York branch is always amazing and the breakfast is always cooked perfectly . The service is very good . Only minus is they automatically add on 12.5% service charge

Good food. Nice décor. Staff chaotic but good. Bread was not included which is odd for a French restaurant, but we were able to buy some.

Pleasant evening, good quality food, friendly and attentive staff. Enjoyed our visit with the benefit of the special offer cocktail each and will return again in the future.

Fantastic food as always. Lovely kir royale on arrival as their summer drinks promotion had run out. No complaints from us. Great place as always. We’ll be back!

Great food, great service. Excellent if you are gluten free, all gluten free dishes came with a little flag in them. Comfortable table area and good value for money.

Food tasty. Restaurant's decor is up-market; atmosphere pleasant and place clean. Staff friendly and efficient. The only thing I didn't like is the mandatory service charge of >12% as I do not know where it will end up, ie. staff or the restaurant.

Always enjoy the food!and wine and ambiance,the staff are very friendly and attentive,if food was this consistent in France I would return for holidays but alas have been sadly disappointed on many occasions in France!

The staff where very attentive and the food was very good, this is my third visit to this restaurant and the standard of food was just as good .

We Have been lots of times but this time very poor. We had steak and had to leave the steak. The meat was very tough

Nicely located near The Minster and The Shambles, there was a good atmosphere and our waiter was helpful and very good. We would visit again

Great waiter and all our group were happy with the main meal but the lemon tart pudding was poor- soggy stale pastry However the waiter straightaway took it off our bill which was very fair. Good atmosphere. We will definitely go again.

Very professional friendly service and good value for money. Please remove the 12.5 per cent service charge. Much prefer to leave a cash tip of my chosen amount which I am normally pleased to do.
