Food and service were excellent but tables too close together

We took my mother in law for her 70th birthday the food was beautiful and the service was 5 star thank you

Lovely meal, nice beer and wine, excellent courteous service. Never disappoints.

We had a fantastic anniversary meal and were made to feel very special. We would recommend it restaurant to all family and friends.

Another nice evening at Cote. The food and service was good as ever. Although it was a very noisy front dining room.

Had a lovely meal first rate, & 1st rate service. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Food not to my taste the so called frites well like something out of McDonald's, the steak was served in a pool of watery juice where it hadn't been left to stand. We got this meal as as a gift.Safe to say I won't be returning. Also felt as though they thought we were going to walk out without paying the waiters stood around the table all through the meal which made us feel very uncomfortable

All of our group thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant. We had an excellent night out.

Absolutely brilliant experience - visited with 19 friends for my 50th and ordered our food in advance. The food was absolutely delicious and the service and staff were excellent! We were all sat together at the back of the restaurant and the staff really joined in with the celebrations and made it special for me. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute thank you so much! Would definitely recommend!

Lovely place, food was great, portion sizes just right, plenty of choice. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. A perfect dining experience.

We through enjoyed our dinner on Saturday at Cote in York. We were welcomed and shown to our table and although it was quite noisy initially, it leant to a bustling atmosphere. The food was as always delicious, and really well presented. The service was friendly, knowledgeable and not intrusive. Over the years we have eaten a various Cotes, and they are always consistently good and York didn't disappoint. Highly recommended!

Excellent meal. Attentive staff. Only one fault. The "optional" service charge which is automatically added to your bill. Makes you less likely to tip than if not added. Was a shame after a lovely meal.

We chose to eat here because the menu included gluten free options for my daughter. we both ordered the minute steak mine cooked medium, hers more well cooked, however the waiter put the plates down wrong, luckily we noticed as soon as we cut into the meat. While we weren't too bothered about this, we just swapped plates but had my daughter eaten my non-gluten free fries she would have been quite ill. That aside, the meal was very nice, the staff, friendly, we would visit again.

Probably the worst time I've had at Cote which was a real shame. Service was great (as always) but felt really let down at the end with the dessert "cheese" a bowl of bread, cheese and grapes. No butter or oil just dry bread, no celery... Not sure if it should have been like this.... Left feeling very disappointed as I've been going Cote for years!

we visit Cote often using it for lunch with my husband and meeting friends for lunch we also visit for special occasions the menu has a good choice of dishes all tasty and cooked well I have yet to have a meal here that has not been enjoyed and recommend the restaurant often Also the staff have been friendly and efficient

Enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch today at Cote Brasserie York. Also enjoyed an early evening meal two weeks ago with my daughter & her husband.

An excellent evening diner. Very, very minor points were the apple tart de tan was a bit flat and the waiter forgot to ask us about our dessert choice but as were busy enjoying the evening it didn't matter.

Another excellent meal, with attentive, friendly staff and lovely ambience.

Despite a slight hiccup with one of the dishes , which was rectified immediately, we had a great evening as usual . Love this restaurant and would recommend it very highly.

Very pleasant lunch. Professional staff who were pleasant and helpful. We go to York once a month for a leisurely lunch At Cote Brasserie. The waiters always greet us as we are shown to our table (66). Delicious food which is always served with style.

My ratatouille with goats cheese was good but my husband’s steak too underdone for him, so they replaced it but it was a bit tough. The bread with my dish was so hard we had to cut it with his steak knife so I didn’t eat much of it in case I broke a tooth. Creamed spinach and French fries good. Creme caramel dessert was delicious.

Excellent service. I had ratatouille with goats cheese which was good but the bread it came with (toasted) was so hard I had to use my husband’s steak knife to cut it..so I only ate a bit of it as I was scared of breaking a tooth. His steak was underdone for his taste as he wasn’t asked how he wanted it, so another one was brought but it was quite tough. The creamed spinach and French fries were very good. We each had creme caramel which was delicious.

unfortunately my husband had two poor courses! His calamari was overcooked and his steak was tough! Didn't make for a good evening! Calamari was replaced but nothing said about the steak! Mine was fine!

We both found the menu choice very good - it was hard to decide, particularly good for my wife who has to eat gluten free. And when the food came it was excellent. I slight issue for us was the 12% service charge which was built in to the credit card total. We prefer to leave our tip on the table.

We had a fabulous visit, our second time and will definitely be going back.

Something needs to change. Since opening in York we have eaten at Côte many times but your competitors have overtaken you.
