Côte York

It was a busy New Year’s Eve so the staff were stretched. In the circumstances they did very well and the food was wonderful as always.

New Year’s Eve meal. The food was of the usually good standard, our waiter was very attentive. However, the ladies loos were in an awful state. Not what I would expect from Cote.

although a very busy service on New Years Eve lunchtime, staff and service was impeccable and our choice from the menu was excellent, It is one of our favourite restaurants in York. Highly recommend.

Fantastic New Years Eve, excellent service and food as usual. Restaurant staff joined in the fun but not at the expense of revellers. Can’t wait for next time.

Great menu. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Great value for money. What’s not to like? We will definitely be back. I just wish we lived nearer to visit more often.

Good food as ever. Service variable due to staff shortages but did not detract from the evening although 12.5% service charge did grate a little.

Great food in a wonderful setting. The staff were friendly and attentive and ensured our every needs was met. I would recommend the pork belly as a main option.

We usually love Cote and have visited the York one before and loved it. Sadly we were a little disappointed this time. Chicken was so over cooked the skin was beyond crispy and was dry inside. We could deal with that but from the moment the waiter served our table we knew he was not happy to be there on Boxing Day. Very abrupt and unwelcoming.

The service and quality of the food was top quality however we were made to sit with work groups celebrating together which wasn't the best as these were groups of around 8 who were awfully noisy, we just wanted a peaceful meal.

Staff were very attenting. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was delivered very quickly. It was excellent and very hot. Jusy how I like it

The food at Cote is of a consistently high quality; I eat here quite often and have never been disappointed. Also, friendly service and staff happy to take photos!

Had a nice evening at Cote however we asked if we could move to a slightly quieter table which was vacant nearby unfortunately that was too much trouble for the staff. Unless that specific table had been requested it would have made no difference whether they sat at that table or the one we were seated at.

Excellent as usual. Staff attentive and the service was great. The meals were cooked well and arrived at the table with adequate time between courses. Overall, excellent value for money

Small but tasty portions of food. Was given the Christmas menu not the early bird menu, massive difference in price!! Cheeky. They forgot a coffee but refunded it when we asked where it was. Good service. Will return.

Very nice meal. Attentive staff. Food was very nice although a touch expensive. We eat there whenever we are in York and will do again.

Nice food and wine reasonably priced. Friendly wait staff. Bathroom FREEXUNG HAD NO HEATING - it was as cold in there as the street. 0°c. Not acceptable

Very helpful waitress who was good fun and enjoyed banter with our party. Lovely well presented food. Plenty of choice on menu and good value for money.

We were late and rang ahead and it was not a problem. We were going on to the theatre and the staff obligingly sped up the service and bill. Nice food and good value. Front of restaurant looked a bit cramped but we had plenty of space at the back.

Had a very nice meal. The service was excellent as always. The staff are attentive. The restaurant was very busy. Would recommend reserving a table and not sitting in the main thoroughfare.

Lovely warm atmosphere, good food, and service excellent. We all chose from the Christmas set menu and all enjoyed ver much. We also like the lack of music so you can talk to each other without having to shout to make yourself heard,

Nice place to eat, the place was busy with quite a few Christmas diners giving it a lively atmosphere, the service was efficient and the food was tasty, the veg portions could have done to be a little more generous.

We enjoyed a lovely brunch here. The food and service were great, and the ambience of the brasserie is a lovely environment to eat in.

Let me start by saying we are big fans of Cote and always have a good time there. But yesterday, the Welcome and Service was only average, the prawn starter was just on the cusp of being overcooked, and the Halibut special was over cooked and therefore rather dry. Have had better from Cote considering the restaurant was quite 'quiet' for this time of year.

We always have a good meal in nice surroundings at Cote York. Service is good and the menu choice is super. We can recommend it.

Excellent as always. Cote is amazingly consistent and always a pleasure to visit. The staff are helpful, considerate and always welcoming. The food is consistently excellent.

Every thing was absolutely perfect. The meal was really nice, the staff exceptional and the service was wonderful. Thank you again and I will definitely be returning to enjoy another night at the Cote.

A lovely lunch in York with friends at Cote Brasserie. Food good once again and a good menu to choose from. Helpful and pleasant staff today.

Food was fantastic. Service quick and efficient. The ribeye steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Would rather decide to add my own tip than have it added automatically.

Lovely food, spoilt by very slow and inattentive service. Got so fed up waiting for our bill went up to the desk with our coats on

Went for breakfast on a really cold day, staff were, as usual, great, very nice atmosphere and the food was tasty, however it was not really warm enough, difficult with Eggs Royale as the sauce cannot be heated too much but it should have been hotter, we didn't complain to the waitress as we were short of time but did mention it to the manager as we paid. We will still go back as we have always had good experiences previously.

York at Christmas is lovely. Cote is a busy oasis in the middle of it. Great food as always - we were so happy to see the French Onion Soup on the menu! This was gorgeous and followed by fillet steak and chocolate fondant, all washed down with a bottle of Sancerre Rose. Attentive staff and a nice atmosphere 10/10 again. We booked our table as we always do at whichever Cote we go to. Have never found a fault with any of them yet and at this rate we never will.

Very nice restaurant we were at the Windsor restaurant a while ago and thought that was excellent, York is equally as good great food and excellent service from Sam.

Lovely restaurant, food amazing, quick service and friendly staff. Look forward to returning next time in York. the risotto was possibly the best I have tasted. Meal was faultless.

Expensive, poor service, certainly not value for money. Good location in York but won’t be frequenting cote brasserie again. Had to prebook food as there were 8 people in the party, one a child and 3 course meal was £35 per head plus drinks.

Great service, lovely food. Very coeliac aware, with a specific menu. Was girlfriend's birthday and was given a complimentary glass of bubbly. Highly rated, will go again.

Exceptional food and true customer service. A comprehensive set of dishes for all tastes, with wine to match. Probably in the upper price range for York restaurants, but worth it! No further words required!

Staff were lovely and attentive. We ate from the 2 courses for £11.50 menu which was excellent value for money and the food was delicious.

Always a lovely welcoming service at Cote York with a cosy and buzzy atmosphere in the room. It serves super food and wine served in a relaxed way. Highly recommend
