superb in every way . All the staff were brilliant and very helpful. the food could not be faulted. All starters, mains and desserts were delicious.

I am a regular diner in Cote York . As always the food is delicious , service excellent and the occasional free drink is very much appreciated from the rewards scheme

Called in for a quick late lunch and had one of the best meals we have had here.The steak frites was perfect,the staff very accommodating and the atmosphere just right.

As always, the food and service were excellent. With the introduction of the 'Prestige' menu, there is now even more choice. Our waitress, Zeinab, was absolutely delightful.

The service was great as always although the food didn't seem quite up to scratch. The soup was cold, the salad forgotten and then when it arrived seemed to be something from the bottom of an out of date bag of leaves! The chicken was overcooked too. Not great. But the staff were friendly and it's normally good so we'll still be back.

Always a great ambience and consistently high quality of food dishes time after time. not to mention a great selection of wines. My favourite place to eat in York!

This is the second time I've visited the restaurant and I wasn't disappointed, the restaurant was warm, clean and tidy and the staff were very wonderfully friendly. The food was as usual amazing, we went to celebrate my husbands 60th birthday and we couldn't have picked a better place to go. I would like to thank everyone for making the night fantastic.

We booked our favourite table and enjoyed the Cote experience once again. As usual we enjoyed good food and wine, good service and at a realistic price.

Great Resteraunt really enjoyed the food and service was excellent. The only thing that stopped it being a six was it was a slow evening and the atmosphere was a little lacking.

This was our first visit to Cote York and it was extremely enjoyable. The food was delicious, there was a good ambiance and we were especially fortunate to have Zeinah as our waitress. She was a delight! Attentive, warm and efficient. It makes such a difference to the overall experience. We will certainly return.

Cozy restaurant. Very good fougasse (garlic and oil bread), nice starter in the charcuterie plate, main courses ( steak and chicken) were also very good sauce on the side as should. Very frienly service, mo more room for desert, but we shall return!

This has been our favourite restaurant in York for many years now, we have brought a number of friends and family there over the years and they are now regular customers. The food is always excellent and the staff very efficient and friendly.

Lovely food, attentive staff. They now have a more expensive set menu which sits between the standard set menu and the A La Carte one which is a great idea.

Our first visit in 2018 - excellent as always. Food choice good and always presented well and tasting delicious. Service always attentive but never intrusive. Only negative - they do not have the fish soup/bisque on the menu at the moment.

We didn’t enjoy the experience at all - the whole place was rushed and the staff were darting about rushing people to move from course to course - I told the waitress not to bring the starters straight away as I could see what was happening - but they arrived while we were eating our bread and olives. If we had not taken our own time eating we would have been out in 30 minutes (which I suspect is the target turnover of the tables)

Brilliant staff.. friendly and professional. The food was excellent. Classic fine dining which made a nice change from all the trendy menus that often seem to be a bit pretentious and disappointing. All in all a perfect evening.

Lovely food and service. Artic conditions in the toilets let the place down, please install a heater in there, ten minutes of shivering after going to the loo is not a pleasant experience.

we were a group of 7 visiting 16th Feb all enjoyed the food and the service was first class, would certainly recommend to others, we will revisit in the near future, the place on that day had lots of atmosphere

The breakfast was delicious and service excellent. Good value also. Quick and efficient which is very good when serving eight people who all want different food.

We could not fault the food, it was amazing! Quality, choice of ingredients, the way it was cooked and presented were second to none so congratulations to the Chef and to Cote! The staff was very customer focused and friendly. 4 stars instead of 5 due to three small issues. 1) On arrival, our Kir was so weak it could have been a glass of pale Rosé. It didn't look or taste like Kir. However, this was put right on the second one ordered by two of us and one was offered complimentary to one of my daughters whose 40th birthday it was so thank you. 2) Side dishes were ordered but not served. We had to chase them and by the time we got them, we nearly had finished our main dish. 3) My 9 year old fancied a little cucumber and tomato salad as a starter but she couldn't have it so had to have some glazed carrots instead as she doesn't like green leaves which your green salad is. I cannot understand what the problem was when your restaurant, like any others, have cucumber and tomatoes in the kitchen. Cote ticks many boxes except the one for flexibility, you are not as accommodating as other restaurants in your league which is a pity.

This particular branch of Cote LOOKS small from the outside, but don't be fooled, it goes back a LONG way and can happily seat at least 100 diners. As always, the set menu offers very good value and the staff are friendly, attentive and efficient. Perhaps because it is not in Central London (where the ones I normally visit are) and it was a fairly quiet, early mid week visit, or perhaps simply because "Northerners" are generally friendlier and warmer from the outset than "Southerners", we were made to feel like long lost friends rather than customers, even though this was actually our first visit. I would highly recommend it.

Our first time at Cote in York. Warm welcome on what was the coldest, wettest, windiest day of the year. We sat near the back of the restaurant, it felt warm and cosy. Attentive staff but not overbearing. Lovely meal especially my monkfish special - I always find their special fish dishes are always beautifully cooked. My daughter is coeliac and can depend on a nice safe meal at Cote - one of the reasons we visit regularly wherever we happen to be.

Very good food and pleasantly served. Good ambience. Unfortunately there was quite a long wait between the starter and main courses. However the experience overall was very nice. Clean restaurant.

The evening was fully enjoyed by all of us. The food and service were, as always, excellent. I have never had occasion to complain at all about this restaurant and it continues to maintain the high standards it has set. Thank you

Good food, good service, reasonably priced, I would go back again. Only down side was we were sat next to quite a loud table but not the restaurants fault.

Thecrestaurant follows the Cote standard. The menu was standard, the restaurant was well laid out with a nice atmosphere. Thecstaff were helpful and attentive which made for a great experience

We visited on the evening of 3 February 2018. This was not our first visit as we were in York at the same time last year. The food was good as was the service, but the toilets were freezing cold this year as they were last year. The restaurant was also quite cool and as the evening progressed it got distinctly cooler. There was also an increasingly cold draught whenever any unfortunate diner had to visit the toilet .We mentioned this to the staff who agreed with us, but said the heating was on. Well it was not on high enough. Make sure you wrap up warm or your visit will be spoiled.

Always like visiting this chain. The early bird menu offers good value for money. Good service from all staff members and lovely food. Worth a visit.
