Consistently good food and service. Great atmosphere and easy to get to in the centre of the city. Reasonably priced and good choices from the menu.

This was the perfect environment for our lunch meeting on a summer Sunday lunchtime. Good selection of food and the staff were excellent and allowed for flexibility (sharing starters etc). Thank you!

The food we had last night was divine....no other word for it. I had the Pork Belly and it was utterly delicious, followed with a Creme Caramel....as I say, utterly divine. Very pleased to see you ask about noise levels and waiting time....very important aspects of dining out and more often than not overlooked.

Very poor service. We waited 15 minutes before we were able to order drinks. Having ordered a bottle of champagne (we were celebrating an event) the bottle was then brought out and left standing (not in ice) on a counter in full view for a further 7 minutes. The situation was only resolved by one of our party getting up, collecting the bottle and serving us himself. It created a stressful situation when what we wanted was an enjoyable family celebration.

An excellent and interesting choice of dishes, with great set meal deals... although in the end we went for a la carte. Food was beautifully cooked and well presented, and there were plenty of staff, although our waiter was a little over-intrusive for our taste. The restaurant has a modern feel in an historic building and the tables are reasonably well spaced.

Our favourite place for lunch in york. Great selection with monthly changes. Staff always friendly and pleased to see us. Always a treat. Thank you.

Offer of drink with a la carte menu not honoured. An appetiser was requested before a starter and both arrived together! Very busy and not competent. Food ok

Excellent location and the service was efficient and courteous without being intrusive. I have eaten here before and found one particular waiter to be aloof and condescending in his "service". He wasn't there this time and on this occasion I couldn't fault our waiter or any of the staff. The food was delicious and arrived piping hot and all at once. The dining experience was very pleasant and although it was a very warm evening outside, the restaurant was just the right temperature. I would eat here again and thoroughly recommend this branch of Cote.

Great food and great service as always - our favourite York eating place. Friendly, professional and efficient staff worth every penny of the service charge and the quality, variety and good value of the food is 100% consistent. Part of a chain but doesn't feel like one. Can't fault it.

Food was really nice but service wasn’t very good. It was my sisters 40th and they didn’t mention it and forgot her drink and forgot her pudding. One of the waiters gave us the wrong dessert menu for the set menu we were ordering from and then they tried to charge us extra for them. Adding 12.5% automatically is a bit steep and we chose not to pay it.

Great restaurant with friendly professional staff. A must if you love French food! If your lucky enough to have a Cote in your home town then make it your choice for a date night. Totally worth it.

Modern air conditioned restaurant. Excellent choice of food which was well prepared. Three guests had different items which were delicious. Service was excellent will definitely visit again.

The waitress whilst very pretty did not seem capable of taking and relaying the orders, bill was long time coming , I accept it was a busy evening, but several customers were having issues

We had a late lunch (4pm) but the lunch menu was still on so we had a fantastic meal and really good value! The food was delicious and the staff were great. Very friendly and helpful. Côte York is in a great location in central old York - perfect for sight-seeing and for shopping.

Excellent as usual, the food was perfect, simple French (steak frites & half Breton chicken) but done and presented perfectly. Complementary bottle of wine rounded the evening off very well.

Lunch with 4 old school friends, (we are all in our 70,s now). We think the menu is very good and very competetively priced with wide choice. The food is always well cooked and delicious. The staff are lovely, helpful and polite and they never bother when we stay for 2 hours eating and chatting. We are all agreed that it is about the best value in York for lunch.

Hello, service was very good and the main meal was fine, for desert I ordered the iced berries which unfortunately were almost frozen and not up to the standard I had last time, However, this would not put me off returning, I just won't order iced berries!

A very enjoyable Mother’s Day meal.We were seated at the table I requested when booking and got speedy and friendly service throughout. The food here is consistently very good and you always know that the service and atmosphere will match it.It is not cheap to eat here but you get what you pay for.

A lovely wedding anniversary meal,with the added touch of a card at our table on arrival.The food is always top class and the rose wine was perfect.All in all a most enjoyable experience and we will definitely return.

Excellent food. We love the wide choice on the menu. We had lamb rump and hake with creamed spinach as extra though not necessary unless you’re very hungry. The crème caramel is to die for. Excellent service but we went at a quiet time 6.30.

Steak was cooked very rare for a British restaurant. The chef cooked it for a bit longer without quibbling. Beware - they add a 12.5% tip to the bill without asking, which I missed before paying.

We have visited Cote several times and we are never disappointed. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! My only criticism is that vegetables are not included and although I am happy to order extra portions of veg, I would like to see at least peas included?

Service from our French waiter was exceptional, but the best was to follow! All three courses were beyond our expectations and the food was superb. We can't wait to go again

We arranged to meet 3 friends for Sunday Brunch......everything went perfectly......from the welcome we received to the perfect food and drink. The total bill was great value......Always is !.........and thus we almost always come to this restaurant when in York . Well done team ! Rachel & Paul

Great food and service at York Côte. This is third one in the chain we have visited and all equally as good in terms of food quality.

I have been going to Cote brasserie in York for a couple of years , and the consistanscy and quality of service and food is just unmatchable to the many other restaurants that I have visited recently including cruises.How do they do it?

The food was delicious and the service immaculate. This is one of our favourite restaurants and we’ve never been disappointed. I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting York.

Excellent service and lovely food the asparagus as a starter was particularly good.The staff are particularly pleasant and Côte is our go to place when we just need to have a meal.

A delightful experience , with excellent & attentive service. It was particularly pleasing to have potions sized for the gourmet, rather than the gourmand! easy access (and a helpful arm ) available to those with mobility problems).

I had a lovely welcome to the restaurant, the service was impeccable; the staff were aware we had a time constraint due to booked trains and they did their best to service the food promptly which they did. We all enjoyed a three course meal which was delicious and was excellent value. I would certainly have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

Waitress was rude and any query was a hassle. Food was nice. But the 12.5% tip automatically added to the bill when you’ve had slow rude service was pretty irritating.

Extensive menu couldn’t be improved on. Food excellent. One main course « forgotten », but staff overcame the problem as quickly as possible. Noise level too high for decent conversation.

The meal and service were, as usual, excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the restaurant. We will be visiting again in the near future.
