Excellent food and service as always. Love the great value set menus. It continues to be my favourite restaurant in York.

A lovely family lunch with plenty of menu choices from breakfast to a la carte. Good value. Only minor point - children's steak very rare but staff offered to change this immediately.

Friendly and efficient. Busy Xmas time lunch. I will book again and recommend Cote.

We normally visit Cote Brasserie in Salisbury but it was a delight to visit this one in York. Staff were great and the food too. The Gravad Lax on the Christmas menu is excellent and some of the best I have ever eaten.

Wonderful staff, excellent food, enjoyable atmosphere! Catered so well for one of our party who is coeliac. Also brought us Christmas crackers to help us celebrate! Always enjoy eating at Cote! Many thanks!

This was a pre-Christmas get together with a few friends and we had a lovely time. We had the early evening three course meal, which is very good value, and excellent quality. Service was friendly and attentive.

We have just had a very pleasant evening dining at Côte in York. Many thanks to all the attentive staff.

Overall we had good meal, my wife’s gluten free requirements were efficiently carried out, with all her food marked as gluten free.

I usually have the steak frites and its melt in the mouth but on this occasion it was awful and chewy, we sent my mums back twice and eventually it was just knocked off the bill. Everything else was nice food and drink wise but the steak was very disapointing. The service was also quite slow - overall not our usual experience at Cote - perhaps struggling with the Christmas rush.

There was some building work taking place. Really not tolerable.

Food excellent. Service good. Staff pleasant and polite. The one issue that is a negative for this restaurant and has been for many years is the ladies and gents toilets. They are in desperate need of a major refurbishment.

Sunday lunch just before we left York to get back to Edinburgh. Welcomed as if we were regulars. French onion soup, rib eye and cassoulet were excellent. Team had what seemed a busy Sunday morning but they were chatty, friendly and willing to share the odd joke.

Hadn’t been before but will definitely be back! The food was brilliant (best onion soup I’ve ever had) and service great. Would highly recommend this place!

Five of us had a meal, four meals were excellent, but one of the steaks someone had was very grizzly, hence the 4 stars.service & ambience was excellent.

The food was well cooked, well presented and very tasty. The restaurant was quite full, so quite noisy due to xmas parties but it was not a problem. What sets Cote out from other restaurants is the staff. The are efficient, polite and friendly and they are not constantly asking "is everything ok". If everything was not ok, I would be letting them know. Overall, another enjoyable experience at Cote. Not the first and definitely not the last.

French Onion Soup, Steak Frites and a bottle of Chinon Rouge. A great welcome and hard working team. What more is there for £35 a head all in. Boom.

The ambience is warm and friendly. Lovely staff. The food was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every mouthful. Very good choice of food and drinks. Looking forward to our next visit!

Nice place with nice food the only down side were the toilets that could do to be cleaned and restocked more regularly.

Very good food; served by pleasant and efficient staff. Don't like 12.5% tip being automatically added. We always leave a tip but object to being told how much to leave.You did have the option to decline paying the tip but that would have made us feel uncomfortable which I suppose is the object of the exercise to ensure that you pay it.

A lovely lunch for a birthday treat, a good vegetarian menu .

Service was super quick. Noise was awful you it was difficult to have a conversation as you cold t hear each over, I know it was a Friday night so it was very busy.

Great as usual, however the steak was disappointing. Ordered medium, and got well done on the outside, very rare on the inside!!!

Delicious food. Very friendly and helpful service (served by Georgia from Greece doing an MBA at York Uni😀). Good atmosphere with plenty of buzz. Would have been 6 stars but a couple of dishes came cold - potato’s and choc fondant- and had to be taken away to be heated. A shame, because otherwise really good.

Great to try the monthly dishes, another good evening at Cote. My wife enjoyed her steak frite, the wine was good as ever my duck and sausage cassoulet was like old boots though.

Lovely table in the window. Sea Bass was great, tasty and well served. Will go here again as soon as we’re back in York again. Make sure you book though lots of people were turned away, no room. Must be good,

On entry we were surprised to see several tables had not been cleared off when it was not at all busy.Good,very enjoyable meal at a reasonable price. Dessert not up to the same excellent standard as first two courses.Staff good but service from the kitchen could have been quicker. Toilets freezing and not cleaned to the same standard as the restaurant. All in all a very enjoyable meal.

Although the food was delicious it was not served on particularly warm plates nor was the food very hot. We dine in Cote generally at least once a month and we were disappointed.
