Lovely, relaxed meal in pleasant environment. Not rushed, but attentive service and a fish stew to die for.

It’s always nice and warm and I had the duck, which was lovely.

Fantastic meal from start to finish. Lovely table, great service, fantastic food. We will be back and would highly recommend this beautiful restaurant to anyone. Thanks to the wonderful staff who looked after us so well for my 60th birthday.

We had a wonderful lunch in York today. We were treated to a free Blood Orange Martini as an aperitif then seared scallops followed by swordfish and beef bourguignon. Delicious!

Mixed feelings. Had it's good and bad points. Fokd was good, just not much of it. Service wasn't brilliant. Whole experience felt extremely rushed. Restaurant felt cramped and kept getting knocked by servers walking past. Food was of a good standard and tasty but small portions.

Very good friendly service. One of the best restaurants for allergens. Very accommodating. Would definitely recommend.

Always feels like a treat, and not just visiting a usual chain restaurant.

One of our favourite places to eat, but for the first time disappointed with a main course, the duck was chewy with gristle through each piece. Starter and sweet upto usual high standard. every thing else upto standard. When you visit regularly one poor meal will not stop us visiting again.

Usually have no problem with any of the menu items that I have chosen in the past but this time the Poulet Grillé was over-salted and the chicken was very tough. My partner’s meal was fine. Atmosphere great as usual.

This is our restaurant of choice in York.......great food, great service,great atmosphere and fair prices....plus the occasional complimentary drink.......what's not to like !!

We always enjoy dining at Cote Brasserie. Although I made the wrong choice this time with my main course and was a little disappointed the staff were very kind and it was put right immediately. Bravo to all.

It was a lovely meal for my husbands birthday. The food and drinks were brilliant as ever and the service was good. The free wine as regular customers and the free kir royale for his birthday was also appreciated. The restaurant at York is so much better than other Cotes we have used; better service, better sense of style and presentation, more pizzazz, in fact we had our wedding breakfast there.

The food was good as usual but a little disappointed to find the recipe for Breton Fish Stew had changed. Moe vegetable and less fish not as good as previous dishes.

A good meal as usual. Staff a little over eager trying to bring wine before we even had our coats off ! The automatic service charge continues to be the main let down at Cote. It’s rude and inappropriate.

The bread hors d'oeuvres was fine, so were the desserts. My partner's fish was ok but a very small portion. The biggest disappointment was my haddock goujons main. Bland, unseasoned and tasteless, it was accompanied by lettuce leaves stewed in peas and shallots. How much effort did it take to unfreeze the goujons and reheat in a microwave? A Birds Eye meal would have tasted better. £54 plus a 12.5% added tip for 2 mains, 2 desserts, the bread, and 2 glasses of wine. The waiting staff had their backs to the room so could not see if anyone required service. The statutory and identical greeting to every arrival was corporate and rehearsed; bland as was the food. What a contrast to the great meal we had at Côte before Christmas. The problem with these national chains is that no one actually cooks fresh food. It's all brought in, reheated and served. Never again.

Excellent food, and that was just eating from the early evening two course menu, the pork rillettes were delicious and the sardines perfectly cooked. The ambience of the restaurant is lovely; our window table was cosy and we almost felt we could have been dining in a restaurant in France watching the world go by. As always, the service is welcoming, prompt and attentive without being intrusive and special mention to the lovely Georgia who served us with a warm smile. Cote is definitely one of our top recommendations if looking for a great restaurant experience in York.

We have got into the habit of coming to Cote, York, every month to sample the monthly specials which are always enticing, making it good to try something different. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food always good, whether you are dining a la carte or from the two/three course lunch/early evening menu. Roll on next month!

Lovely staff, very cheerful however the customers sat next to us were quite rude and abrupt but it didn’t dampen the mood. The server we had was amazing. Although, it took quite a while to get served.
