Party of 15, all food came out on time. Everything was cooked to taste. Apple tart dessert was slightly over cooked but still tasty. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Not up to their usual standards! Food was great but the service was a bit haphazard: drinks were forgotten, promises to 'come back in a couple of minutes' turned into 20, plates of food were passed across guests. Not at all what we have come to expect from a restaurant that we have visited numerous times
Lovely setting, table by the window looking out in the Thames. Staff very attentive and food very good quality .Menu extensive hard to decide what to have
I love Cotes, one of my favourite places to eat But unfortunately it wasn't last night , I ordered the fish pie and it was very dry and very very salty , looked to me as it had been left keeping warm until Someone ordered it ,the mashed potatoe topping was dry and crusty and the fish pie on a whole repeated on me for the rest of the evening :( Our waitress was very polite bit just left us to it and was about an hour after we finished our meal we had to asked for the bill , was a busy night
Being valentines night it was expected to be a little busy in the restaurant. The food was good there service was good the shearing dessert was the highlight of the meal. Good value for money for the tree courses. Would definitely recommend.
Superb! Def return, great. Did and great value on the river
Everything great but service too slow today. Easter Monday perhaps a busy time but it was a quite a long time time to get served once the rush happened.
Great place with great food and a lovely atmosphere
In general we had a very pleasant and relaxed meal overlooking the river as requested. The waiter provided an excellent level of service. The food was very good with just two slight problems. The first being the steak's were served to the wrong diners, one being medium and other other medium rare. The second was that the pork dish was quite cool by the time it reached us. However the creme caramel was to die for!!
Excellent food, service and atmosphere, would definately recommend. Very friendly staff
Just couldn’t have been better. Great food from beginning to end (typically French as hoped for) and outstanding friendly service. Price slightly on the high side but didn’t detract at all from a really nice evening. We had booked and arrived just as the staff were having to deal with a difficult customer worse for drink. They picked us up and manoeuvred us around to our table - very well done. We will certainly be back.
Thank you Cote we had a birthday celebration with18 family members today and you did us proud. The food was delicious and on hot plates. The service was carried out by helpful, efficient staff. We had a lovely afternoon and a great meal. A big thank you.
The food, service and ambiance always amazing. Today was perfect with the lovely company of two dear friends. Thank you to our lovely waiters and the cooks who made our delicious meal. 💖👍👍👍👍👍💖
I can honestly say that I have had the worst dining experience! Poor service, 20mins before anyone came to take a drinks order, while we could see that other tables were being served. Then waiter returned to ask what drinks we had ordered. A further 40 mins before our starter arrived, mine was good, my friends was disappointing. Dirty plates were not removed for another 15mins, so an hour into our meal no mains had arrived at which point we decided to leave. I’m a chilled person and on such a lovely sunny day in no particular rush but the staffs blatant inability to perform their tasks left us very frustrated, and disappointed. We were celebrating a birthday and looking forward to our meal. The level of service was poor, attentiveness and professionalism of staff was poor. I can only repeat that it was very disappointing!!
Fantastic place looking out over the Thames . Exceptional food and service and great atmosphere . Would highly recommend. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening
Have been several times before, but we were a party of six and we all thought the quality of food was even better. Lovely risotto, with plenty of ingredients and a deep flavour and the seafood linguine was sumptuous.
It was not a good experience, there were to Many people crowded in , we were offered one table with a massive metal pole between two of the chairs and the only other option was a round table which was to small for 5 people but I was told there was no other option . This made eating difficult and the table kept having to be cleared to make room . Toast was burnt and the breakfast was luke warm , fried eggs were broken and didn’t look fresh .Very noise from cups and glasses being put away , staff run off their feet - Overall disappointing. I didn’t complain as my children just said leave it . I have always enjoyed Cotes but will now consider not going back .
As local residents of Windsor, its been quite a while since we ate in Cote because we weren't overly impressed. However, last night we chose to take a family group there and we were very impressed. The service was excellent from all staff members, the food was very good, nice hot plates and beautifully presented. An all roof lovely evening. We will definitely be back.
Very busy today, so had to wait longer than usual for everything, overall it was still a good experience
We had an excellent breakfast in the sunshine! ! First class service. We were very impressed today. Will definitely return again soon. Lovely spot next to the river.
It took between 15 and 20 mins before anyone even took our drinks order or even offer water. Several parties that sat after us were served their dishes before we did. I asked for a salad with no onions and it was full of onions. My steak was near raw when I asked for medium rare. The sea bass and chicken salad was tasteless. Our server seemed overwhelmed by her job and we appeared to be a burden to her. The manager did make an attempt to make amends. Other than that the view was beautiful. We have had good meals in the past. Unfortunately, the last two times have had very poor service.
Cote used to be enjoyable. Not anymore. This was - Disappointing. The only thing that redeemed itself was the birthday fondant they gave me. Issues we had today were - - forgot my husbands starter. His came long after I had finished. - forgot our side salad - kids “cod” was definitely not cod. It tasted awful. They did swap it - 2 started choices were not available but we were informed. However not informed that the burger from the specials wasn’t available until I ordered. - ordered the rhubarb Martinis to be told they have never received the syrup so not on. - absolutely no staff present for the first half hour after ordering - back up only came when I was found trying to find ketchup for my kids. (The food was dumped and not asked if they wanted sauces). - first 2 water bottles put on our table were not full so clearly they had been used.
Service friendly but a bit slow. Fish stew could have been bit more special, my two companions loved their pork belly and sea bass.
Lovely location with very friendly staff. Good service, with a good choice of menu. Do smaller meals for smaller appetites, but still offering a large a la carte menu as well as “April Specials”.
The worst experience I've ever had at Cotes Windsor...I was sent an email for complimentary rhubarb cocktails which I told the waiter about and were happily delivered...my food okay but chicken dry and chips cold which I had replaced....then as going to Windsor Theatre we were entitled to a complimentary Kir which was duly delivered and signed off against tkts by another waiter...then we ordered the cheese to share...which was pathetic for the price! But the worst thing was when the bill came we were charged for the rhurb cocktails...and told we could not have 2 comps! I should have checked your T&Vs which I have and there is nothing about this...so was lied to..and nearly made late for the Ttheatre...I am disabled and can't walk fast at the mo....it was a disgrace...We have been going many times and have never had issue with 2 comps before
Just lovely! Always go their with my retired friends! Great place to catch up! ❤️
The restaurant is very smart and cosy overlooking the river, the choice and quality of food is very good. Service is very attentive, Overall noise level is loud.
Shown to a table in a very noisy room Large groups using raised voices .A very echoey room and impossible to hold a conversation .We asked to be moved and were led around to other rooms where there were no free tables. Eventually we were placed in a quiet area near the front entrance .A bit draughty but quieter space .We met 3 other groups who had asked to be moved too . Service was excellent as usual
Very much enjoyed the meal, good quality food with excellent wines. Service was good with very pleasant staff but best was the lovely location right by Windsor bridge and views of the castle. Will be back love
The food was lovely, the staff were superb!! It has a wonderful setting. Very good value for money too. The only criticism are the ladies toilets, very tight getting in & out of cubicle & ill fitting horrible wooden loo seats! Wouldn't stop us coming back but do think these need looking at.
Superb service and great food - couldn’t fault anything which was great after a previous disastrous celebration.
Lovely table , excellent service and food well presented. Thanks
View - superb Quality of Food - good Service - Good Ambience - Good **Ladies Toilets - very poor space in cubicles. One guest was worried she would not be able to get out.
Great meal and staff ,very welcoming and a view to die for.
Great riverside location, away from the busy tourist spots but close enough to transport. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient and the food was great value for money. I would definitely recommend.
Food was of a good standard, ambiance and service were fine Will go again Waiting between courses could have been a bit less but an enjoyable dinner out
Lovely birthday meal. Slightly disappointed that the table was too small and needed to be moved. Also took a birthday cake but staff didn’t bring the cake out sadly so it was easier to leave it.
Very enjoyable meal, in such a lovely setting overlooking Windsor Castle and the River Thames. It is great to see the swans and watching people crossing Eton into Windsor.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-course meal today. The fillet steak was perfectly cooked to out satisfaction and enjoyment - the main course was perfect and it was nothing like the stuffy and stomach-laden heaps that are typically served in current steakhouse and Beefeaters. The starter and the dessert were perfect compliments to the main meal. We shared a bottle of Merlot and it went well with the fillet steak. The service was very good, the waitresses very courteous and professional: they ensured that everything went smoothly. The riverside setting in the Eton restaurant added great ambience to the meal. The place is very highly recommended for couples and small groups seeking fine dining.
Food was excellent and great value. Staff were engaging and helpfuk.
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Staff were very accommodating. The food was as always delicious and well presented And we Particuarly enjoyed the free blood orange cocktail
Had an issue today with length of time taken to take order due to misunderstanding but this was rectified and complimentary dessert offered very professionally dealt with
It was a sunny day and the place was crowded. There were not enough staff to give good service, although they tried hard. Food was excellent.
Really nice meal for Fathers Day though hate discretionary service being added to the bill. Good atmosphere though a little noisy as at it got busier but food & waiting staff great!
great venue and good food. shame about the service which was at best half-hearted.
It was great as usual excellent food excellent service in the past I've had bad experiences but for the last 2 visits it has been great. Thank you this is how it should be.
Le beaujolais n'était pas à la bonne température. Là nourriture était bonne et le service correct.
Disappointed. Food bland and part of my order was forgotten about. Poor service wilth waiting staff not knowing their menu. Poor value for money. Only good thing was flat white coffee.
Restaurant in a lovely location. The staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. Lovely food from a choice of set menus together with the main menu offering value for money.
Lovely setting but unbearabley noisy. Needs carpet to deaden the sound.
