Fab meal and fab service. The eggs were cooked to perfection and all piping hot. The coffee was also really hot which was a bonus.
Lovely setting overlooking the river. Very friendly staff and good service . Food good value and very tasty. All added up to a very enjoyable lunch.
Delicious lamb dish and pavlova. Always a lovely ambience and great for gluten free. We always enjoy the food and drink overlooking the water in Eton.
Didn't like table offer as it was in middle of families and so choose another. Great views from dinning room across river towards castle. Food was good apart from asparagus that seemed to be deep fried, burnt and therefore ruined. Service was good and food came in a timely manner.
Had a good meal with a few friends from work, service at the start was a little slow however, it did improve over the night and food arrived quickly.
The waiter who was a young Frenchman was charming and attentive despite the fact it was very busy Saturday evening. My Breton tomatoe salad was a special and was very good on a hot summer night. Finished the meal with half a Breton chicken and a bottle of house white. Very simple, well cooked and not too expensive. What is not too like.
Excellent service from friendly and attentive staff. The weekday set course lunch is great value and delicious. A great choice of food at a great price. Fab location too!
Great location and service. Only let down is quality of French fries. Would go back tho. Fixed price menu is great value. A laCarte isn't.
Great service, with a great view. Food was good too. Staff made us feel quite special. Will definitely be back in the not too distant future.
The menu is very nice, a great selection. Prices are reasonable. Service was mostly good, although our starter was served very quickly when we had specifically asked to be allowed to enjoy our glasses of champagne before the food started arriving. The duck main course was delicious, but I was disappointed with the nicoise salad as the tuna was charred and not very tasty. The rest of the salad was delicious. The comped my dessert as a result. The cheese plate was fabulous.
Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was beautifully presented and the fish stew in particular was delicious. Wine choice was extensive. Really lovely lunch with a special friend.
The food was really good. I had steak tartare and fish stew which was lovely. Service was great and lovely views of the Thames and Windsor castle.
Great food, however very slow service. The waiter looked moody and took long to serve us, was notvery smiley and took long to give us our bill.
We were a group of 15 and had already sent our pre-order through to the restaurant 2 days prior. When we arrived the table was only set for 12/13 which was a bit awkward. The waiting staff offered bread and olives, but only to one end of the table? The bread arrived, but the olives did not arrive until after the starters? The Pissaladiere with Reblochon was not very nice and my colleague could not eat it at all. As the waiter was serving the dishes he did not even seem to know which dish it was, and who it was for despite having their names on the list. He also served a white wine spritzer asked for lemonade as White wine and lemon ?! He also asked to remove plates even when others were still eating. As this was a group business booking I did feel let down as the staff seemed very inexperienced and it looked bad on me for selecting this restaurant. Unfortunately I would not return as a large group.
The food and location were spot on, the staff attentive and professional although if one of your party has an allergy i would recommend calling the restaurant first to understand what can and can't be eaten rather than rely on a waiter on the day.
Fantastic! Wonderful breakfast, service and ambience, the only thing that would stop me highly recommending them is to keep this gem to myself, will definitely be a frequent visitor!
Excellent venue.Attentive service without being intrusive. The food was nicely presented and freshly cooked.Part of Windsor Castle can be viewed from the restaurant.Bon Appetite!! 👍
As always the food was delicious and the setting is beautiful, especially today as we could sit outside. However, the service was incredibly slow today albeit it was busy but the quick lunch took 1 hour and 30 minutes. It will not put us off though
Lovely views overlooking the river. Good atmosphere and comfy chairs. Food tastes good too. Service was a bit slow as seated behind a screen and needed to wave for service.
There was a long delay in getting our orders, which was a shame as at the beginning the waitress was very welcoming and friendly. There should be more customer awareness, especially during the meal.
The dinners were all overcooked... My friend had duck breast that the menu specified would be served pink and there was no pink in sight, I asked for a rare steak and it was more on the well done side, another friend had the pork belly which was slightly burnt. I always used to like Cote because the food was good, but this time it just wasn't worth it at all.. I guess they might have had staffing issues due to it being a sunny, warm day so potentially some walk ins that they weren't expecting, but we weren't impressed this time. Which is a real shame.
Great food and service. Well cooked and presented. Lovely views of the River Thames. Nice roomy table but a little too noisy in area at rear of restaurant.
A lovely setting by the river and we managed to get a window seat which was requested on the booking. Food was good and a small wine problem was sorted out entirely to our satisfaction. Would definitely go back
We had a beautiful table by the window, much appreciated by our American relatives as they could see the swans passing by, the weather was hot and the window was open making it very comfortable to sit. The food was lovely and the only thing we would make a slightly negative comment about was that the time between the starter and main was a little long. We understand that this suits many people. But we would have preferred it to have been a little shorter. Overall though we had a thoroughly lovey experience.
Great food, great atmosphere, just love it. The staff are attentive, and always at hand if you require any assistance. I have re booked for 14 of us again.
Our party of six attended this restaurant to celebrate a friends 70th birthday. Specifically asked the management to acknowledge this either by table decor/ cake. Which was agreed. However this didn't occur very disappointing. Because of this oversight they discounted the bill. We did get a nice table with a view, service and food was good.
Great food from lunch menu, steak and fries and Normandy peach crumble. Nice service and atmosphere; not rushed but not ignored. Will definitely be going back there.
Great meal, great service - made my mum's day extra special. 3 times in less that 3 weeks, must be good. Just need another occasion.
Poor service, took ages to get the food, and went it arrived it was cold and below the expected level. Manager was apologetic and do give us a very good discount which meant we actually did leave happy
Excellent friendly service with consistent good food. We can always rely upon the standard being upheld here. We will no doubt be back fairly soon!
lovely location and great for a summer's day. Service was slow and we did have to wait for around 45 mins for our food to arrive. They did bring us bread for free to compensate. They still added a 12.5% service charge to the bill though!
we enjoyed reallygood food good service and reasonable prices..great location on the waters edge of the river thames, perfect for an early summer evening. well done cote
Very good food and service. Nice table allocated, restaurant quite noisy but overall a really positive experience. Waitress serving us was excellent. Food and wine menu reasonable choice. Will return.
Had lunch here today with family and friends as it was my birthday. We had a wonderful meal and although the restaurant was extremely busy the staff worked exceedingly hard and were very attentive and professional. We have eaten in this restaurant many times and have always had a lovely meal. Would thoroughly recommend to family and friends. Added to all this the restaurant is on Eton Bridge and on a lovely day it is the perfect place to be.
Always fresh , good quality delicious food and the staff are outstanding always so professional and attentive every time we have eaten at this restaurant.
As usual in Cote, the service, quality of food and value for money was excellent - we had the £12.95 three course set menu. However, we do find the Windsor restaurant particularly noisy compared to other branches we have visited with nothing to deaden the sound.
Lovely venue, lovely food. Our waitess was very friendly and the service was excellent. Our table by the window provided a perfect spot to enjoy a summers evening.
Very slow service resulting in husband injecting insulin too early causing problems throughout. Staff no knowledge of diabetes which should be fundamental. Steak overcooked. Bad.
Great location, friendly and effective staff, good service, great value. Very busy the day we went, so main courses were a bit delayed, I had the chicken which was a bit overdone, but not sufficient to complain about. Will will go back, hopefully next time a 5
Have always enjoyed our visits here, but the service was rather slow tonight. We would have bought a dessert and coffee if it had moved along. There didn't seem to be enough people keeping an eye on what was happening. Also unfortunately the waitress spilt some red wine on my light trousers! The manager offered to pay for dry cleaning, but it would have been better to have had something taken off the bill
Fabulous setting. From my seat I could see The Thames and Windsor Castle. Food great quality. Loved the puddings. Staff friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
A wonderful warm summer evening sat outside by the river. The restaurant was busy as it was Ascot! We had a short wait outside to get in,even though we had booked but once seated the food was delicious (particularly the crab mayonnaise starter with Sourdough bread) & service was very attentive. Lovely relaxed atmosphere...we were the last to leave! :)
We were 4 persons visiting Cote. We experienced that the meal our guests had was really dry (cod in bacon) and seemed to have had been too long time in the oven. Me and my wife got the Tuna Nicoise, and also here the tunas was well done. We mentioned the tunas to the waitress and she immediately informed us we would get a new tuna and it would be rare as announced in the menu card. After 20 minutes of waiting we asked the waitress about status of our replacement tuna. She mentioned it was forgotten and at the same time she made an immediate decision to take both the Tunas of the bill. That was a bold and right decision, which somehow mitigated the overall view we had of this dinner. We got our replacement Tunas and they were prepared as expected and were really good. So in total the only good thing about the experience was the ambience and the waitress, and for the first time we did not experience a well prepared dinner, as we have got all the other times we have visited you.
Rather mediocre - waiter was strange and had to be asked for napkins, table not clean, had to be asked 3 times for the bill and we eventually got up and paid at the cashier?! beef ordered to share was tough & sinewy which was disappointing but veggies & dessert was good. Overall disappointing but the sitting on the river saved the evening.
Food was great but table was not nice. I was set next to my friend not opposite. This has been the second time. Nice waitress ... and good quick service : )
Hi, I visited twice this week... both times I felt things have gone down hill. I have been loads of times before...favourite restaurant till now. Fillet steak dry, peppercorn sauce was different each time and not as good as I have had there before... I bought my daughter for first time... kids meal wasn't great. Having that much pepper in the mash was just not right for a child... her food was dry... no gravy or sauce of any kind... Will have to find somewhere else for my steak now...:(
Went for a birthday lunch with two friends. Food was delicious and we had a wonderful riverside table outside. But experience let down by poor service. On arrival meet and greet was substandard and was kept waiting some time before being allocated a table. Pleasant waiter but one of our starters served to another table so two of our party had almost finished theirs before the third arrived. Many apologies offered but should this really happen on a reasonably quiet lunchtime?! Coffee slopped into saucer - no apology this time. Small thing but attention to detail makes the difference between mediocre and superb. Food, however, was delicious and good value.
We had a fantastic evening with delicious food and exceptional service from Andy and his team. It was our daughter's 14th Birthday and we were greeted with 3 glasses of fizz ( one non alcoholic) followed up with amazing steak/ frites and finished with a chocolate cake dessert including a candle and Happy Birthday singing to make it a memorable dinner. Absolutely fantastic! Thank you Andy and the rest of the Cote Team. We will be back soon!! The Galvin Family :-)
Lovely views over Windsor. Fillet steak was cooked to perfection. All the staff were bright and entertaining making our visit an excellent experience. We will be back soon.
Lovely view ,and location overlooking the Thames . very attentive and efficient staff. Set menu very good value for money . And most important a good cup of coffee rarely found these days!
