Côte Winchester

A warm welcome ( as well as a friendly farewell at the door), delicious meal and new waitress served us very well. It was a thoughtful touch to acknowledge that it was a special occasion we were celebrating.

Excellent food, service & value for money especially with set menu available on weekdays up to 7pm. Really pleasant ambience to restaurant in Winchester. Would recommend for any occasion.

Arrived slightly early and seated promptly, attended to with a welcoming smile. Allowed to peruse the menu in a relaxed atmosphere. Food was presented excellently and very tasty. The cost was reasonable. We all agreed that this experience can be repeated.

We frequently go to Cote because of the quality of the food and good value. After our visit to Winchester Cathedral we found this branch was comfortable with very friendly service.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit very much. Our waitress was charming and the food reasonably priced although fairly simple. We think the the decor is somewhat drab. There should be some pictures on the walls which are sadly lacking in the Winchester restaurant.

Staff pleasant and very attentive. Friday evening and numerous large groups of young people with loud chatter emphasising the poor design of the restaurant as regards sound control. Food was excellent and cooked to perfection. Receipt claims the (optional) 12.5% tip already added in bill goes to all staff.

Food was very good and the service was excellent. Attentive yet unobtrusive. The only downside was the noise from other patrons. The layout plan meant that noise travelled around the dining area.

The staff are efficient and friendly and the food is consistently good. The menu has been the same for a while. Would be nice to see some new items.

Excellent value for money, although there was a muddle over the table we's asked to sit at. We have been assured our request is now embedded with my name!

Very good service from three members of staff and excellent "formule" breakfast. Very good scrambled eggs and meaty sausages. Choice of tables, no intrusive music.

Calamari starter and belly pork main, both delicious! Lovely food, nice wine and excellent service, all for £30 per head including tip. Love this restaurant and looking forward to the next time.

A perfect place for breakfast. The service is top notch and the quality of the food is consistently high. Also a great place for an evening meal at any time.

We enjoyed our evening at Cote. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. Three of us had a very delicious roast chicken, and my husband had a tasty burger. Starters were good too - a generous charcuterie with sourdough toast, a very acceptable French black pudding (eaten by a Northerner who did not expect to like it but was curious to see how it compared) and a generous portion of acceptable calamari. We didn't stay for dessert or coffee.

Excellent food. Good, friendly service. Very good value for money. Nice, relaxed atmosphere. A good and varied menu with plenty of choice for non meat eaters.

Excellent service and food. Extensive menu with quality wines to accompany. All to be enjoyed in a lively, convivial atmosphere. Go try, for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

Food was good and service was quick and efficient. Baby gem salad was very good but a little more asparagus would have been better !

All very good and enjoyable. Only thing I don't agree with the 12% service charge know optional but as on bill very difficult to refuse...would put me off going to often although food great...

A great restaurant in terms of location, selection and quality of food and customer service. The perfect place to catch up with friends over a few glasses and unwind.

I always throughly enjoyable my meal at Cote in Winchester and find the staff very friendly and helpful. The crime brûlée is my favourite dessert.

We've been to the Côte Brasserie in Winchester before. The food is always very good and the service excellent. We will certainly go there again.

Good food, as always, not too busy and so Service was prompt. They were able to accommodate a delay in our arrival and an additional diner.

Prompt service as always and even though we had made a mistake on the booking the waiter found us a table after 5 minutes. The food was delicious and the veal escalope was enormous. The only complaint is that the asparagus was rather cold.

Great service great food would recommend cotes to friends and family one very negative point is the twelve half percent service charge rather have the staff paid decent money and not rely on service charge to make up their salary.

Four of us had a delicious meal from the set menu in the early evening. The restaurant was busy but staff were attentive and there was a lovely atmosphere. I would have given full marks but one of our part who had the seafood linguine found that it had too much tomato sauce!

Really good evening. We had plenty of time, so staff left us alone to enjoy our anniversary. First time I'd had Steak Tartare. Definitely have it again some time.

Food average for the prices charged. 12.5% service charge too high. Don't understand how service charge is justified for delivering your food and the taking away the used plates ?

We visited cote for lunch and to try the new vegetarian menu. There was a good choice and the food was lovely. The service was great as always.

The service and food were good as usual but the table were much too close together so it was difficult to talk (or get out)

Had a lovely meal for my daughter's birthday. The food was excellent, steaks cooked perfectly with attentive service. Couldn't fault anything. Will definitely be returning.

We just love 'Cote' Winchester and have never been disappointed. The staff are always so attentive and friendly, we love the ambiance of the restaurant, but mostly we love the food. You have a good choice at a price even I can afford. The Manager always gives you such a warm welcome and I like it that he remembers his regular customers, he does a grand job. No faults it is our favourite restaurant in Winchester. Well done everyone there!

Delicious food and good,friendly service. All the various dishes were excellent and there was plenty of variety on the menu. We were not hurried but neither did we have to wait too long for drinks or food.

-30mins wait for our order to be taken. - Incorrect order received - poor value - poor quality - incorrect bill Overall a disappointing experience. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant was clean, warm and the staff were warm and very pleasant. The food was excellent as was the service-we will be attending again soon

The Breton Stew was perfect, as always, as was the Coupe Noir. Yes I could be considered boring but hey why stop having something wonderful!

Lovely friendly waitress who put up with us being over-excited and quite demanding! The food was prompt and absolutely delicious - Cote delivers yet again.

Very good value lunch menu - with a good range of choices as usual. The main dining room is rather noisy so if you want a quiet spot best to get a downstairs table.

Very nice: greeted politely, waitress very attentive, food very good. My wife's decaffinated coffee was undrinkably bitter, but otherwise all very pleasant. Atmosphere very good, too - not too loud.

Good, but not amazing. Service was mixed and some dishes a bit bland. Crab avocado a bit tasteless (more cucumber than anything else), and knife was too blunt to cut the steak-asked for it to be changed and was fine.

An excellent lunch - great food and attentive but not intrusive staff. Every visit, whether lunch or dinner, has always been of the highest standard.

After waiting 30 minutes for the waitress to take our order, The food was small and tasteless. I had the minute steak which was completely over done and was drenched in butter. The portion of frites they served was so small we had to order an extra portion. The side of spinach was soggy and gone off. For dessert I ordered the chocolate pudding but what came out was small and was mostly gone off cream with a small amount of chocolate at the bottom. Overall an awful experience.
