We have been to Cote many times before and again this evening. Food is good and the restaurant a nice place to be. So why do I feel a little bit fed up? Answer is the 'optional' service charge at 12.5%. It's only optional if you realise it's added and even then you have to ask for it to be removed. Paid it this evening but never again. Be warned Cote et al, this is not on. Relying on customers being too shy to knock it off is bad form.

A lovely clean and inviting restaurant serving absolutely gorgeous food at a very reasonable price however the best thing was the staff, so helpful, no changes to the menu was a problem, and very chatty and happy. Just a really nice experience and will be going again

Lovely evening food and service great. We had a free cocktail which was the offer which was very nice. Would definitely recommend for a nice evening.

Lovely food just off putting the assumption that 12.5% service is added to the bill, whilst optional it is most off putting that this is in small print. It really takes away from the experience.

I booked lunch here on a Tuesday lunch for 14 people. It was a casual wedding lunch as the registry office was across the road. The service was excellent, they made the happy couple feel very special. The food was excellent, they catered for all our dietary requirements, gluten free and vegetarian plenty of choices. We booked on the way out to dine here again on mother’s day.

The food is always reliably excellent here, and it was again today. Service a bit slower than usual, and noise level (“music”) appalling. I guarantee that if it was turned off everyone would be pleased.

The whole experience felt very rushed. Within 10mins our food and 3 drinks where in the table. The quality of the food was excellent as always. The 12.5% service charge added for 3 people at breakfast was also a tad surprising. . . Also surprised that there wasn’t a small gift for the Mother’s as other restaurants on the Avenue were doing. That said though it was still an enjoyable breakfast apart from the constant banging from upstairs .

Great food, brilliant staff and reasonable prices. What’s not to like?

Excellent service and the food of course was top notch. We went for the prestige set menu which was a little bit more expensive than the ‘basic’ set menu but was well worth it.

Booking system easy on line and table preference honoured. Nice,pleasant atmosphere, very good food and waiting staff always pleasant and obliging with a happy smile

Lovely meal -menu is extensive but from personal experience usually excellent. Today we had crab,salmon,fish stew and chicken-all beautifully cooked and tasty. Rhubarb martini was delightful and the Chablis very moreish. Service was efficient and friendly-thanks to Melanie for enhancing our late lunch experience.

We really enjoyed our meal and the wine which was complimentary the quality of our meals was super and much enjoyed by all of us

This is the second time that we've had a bad experience at Cote West Bridgford, the first being my birthday meal last October. Again, the problem was with my wife's vegetarian meal and on this occasion, the risotto was cold when it arrived but when we asked for it to be reheated, it came back swimming on stock and was inedible.

As a regular customer today has been a total disaster!! Booked a table for 12.30 for Brunch prior to the international cricket at Trent Bridge!!As expected you were vey busy but was astounded when we sat down that Brunch which you serve till 1.00pm was no longer available and we would have to eat off the A La Carte menu!!Your duty manager said you wouldn’t serve the Brunch we had booked for leaving my party no option but to leave the restaurant!!As there are 5 international World Cup matches coming up at Trent Bridge over the next 6 Weeks Which all start at 2.00pm are you going to stop serving Brunch on a whim as you did today!!!I’m sure you are aware that there are numerous venues on the Avenue in West Bridgford where Brunch is available! We booked last minute and arrived late, but the staff were welcoming, cheerful and efficient. The food was stunning, as always, and the atmosphere was friendly and enjoyable.

It is always a pleasure to eat in Côte. As a foodie I am always delighted with my meal. One of the few restaurants that serves a Steak Tartare which I always have and is consistently good. To follow this time I had the pork belly, the crackling is so incredibly thin and delicious. This was finished of with a chocolate fondant and vanilla ice cream, what a silky, gooey, tasty treat. Service as always is impeccable and the food well priced. My only minor grumble is the optional 12.5% gratuity worked out for you on the bill, I would rather have the standard 10% worked out and pay more if I want to.

Food was fantastic, my soup was initially not hot enough, but that soon got sorted. Salad Nicoise was divine, hope they never take it off the menu. Mirabelle Tart for dessert was excellent, thoroughly recommended. Service was very good , but I do object to a 12.5% service charge being added to the final bill. It is not a formal restaurant with very fancy standards of service, it's just good, down to earth chain restaurant style food. I am a grown up & very capable of assessing whether I have deemed the service to be worthy of the extra reward of a gratuity. I realise it is optional, but then you put the customer in the awkward & potentially embarrassing position of declining it in order not to have to pay it. £8.25 tip for a table of 2 for lunch is excessive IMO. We have a number of restaurants within 5 minutes walk of each other & this is the only one to work this way.

Our 54th wedding Anniversary! We booked online and had complimentary gin and tonics which were very nice - had a lovely meal with good service. Côte is our favourite restaurant in West Bridgford.

Delicious.... never fail to impress, truly another fabulous evening. You are out go to restaurant for the overall going out experience.... we have never had anything negative to say.... and to night hasn't been anything different. Perfect.

Apart from having to wait over 25 mins for our table which was pre booked for 8.15 (we were offered a complimentary drink for the delay) the rest of the evening was thoroughly enjoyable. We will certainly return in the near future. Alan Middleton

Great food, service and value for money. Best restaurant in Bridgford! Would thoroughly recommend. It's our favourite as it delivers French cuisine at a reasonable price.

Food outstanding, service was wonderful my only criticism would be we only got a 1 hour slot for our food so felt like we had to rush.

A group of us get together once a month for lunch. There was some confusion about the venue today and some members were late. Our waitress was completely unfazed and took their late order as we were already eating. Everything was served quickly and was all delicious. Thank you.

Overall excellent experience, only one critique would be, not to have the 12.5% gratuity on the bill discretionary or otherwise 😉 We will definitely visit again.

Great value as always, theymanaged a late change of plans and served up the best fish Stew I think I've ever had. The Meteor beer is great and the weekend menu fantastic value. One of us always has the steak and frites
