Côte Welwyn Garden City

There was an older couple who spoilt our evening, they were arguing and the woman was very vocal and swearing. My 12 year old daughter was with us. After I while I spoke to one of the staff and stated they need to do something or I will as it was becoming a bit heated. They said to me the couple are regulars and do this quite regularly.If this is the case I would banish them from coming back. Spoilt the evening and if I didn’t say something I don’t feel the Management would have done anything. Service and food very good.

Atmosphere very pleasant and relaxed. Variety of diners of different ages. Staff very friendly. Food was brought to the table on a tray and served off the tray by another member of staff - lively touch. Covid awareness excellent! Thank you for two beautifully cooked meals that tasted amazing! I'd found this restaurant online as I was making a two hour journey to the area and needed to find a lunch venue that served Moules Frites. I was not disappointed.

Cote Welwyn is one of our ‘go to’ restaurants for breakfast and evening meals - as a couple or with family (where possible)

The food was lovely but some of the staff are rude, the girl who took our order as brilliant but the gentleman who brought the food & the one who took the payment gave off the vibe they did not care

They put us by the window which was chilly ,I had the fillet steak and got go a shrivelled up end of the cut of steak which was chewy and over cooked ,my daughter who's birthday it was had a T bone steak that was not great too, the room was too noisy for us , as a former chef in London and in France I know what I am talking about , I don't like to make these comments but I think people should be aware RB

Everything was fantastic, I have ordered a main course called lamb Rump. It came with over sized vegetables and not the best part of the lamb. I love veggies in the food but I thought for the size of lamb, in my dish the veggies were too much and some were not cook well. But we enjoyed our meal with my friend and the rest was absolutely amazing. Thank you

Very friendly service and food always delicious. My restaurant of choice for beautifully cooked dishes and wines. Sarah and Carlos looked after us very well. I really enjoyed my bday Sunday lunch.

An excellent breakfast. The vegetarian breakfast was particularly good - the veggie sausage was probably the best I’ve had.

It was so lovely to be back at Cote. It fully lived up to our expectations, great food, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. We’ll be back before long.

Despite the situation we were greeted and treated in the usal Cote with great food and wine.

First visit since lockdown and up to old standard. Food choice, quality and service was excellent. I DO NOT like the added 12.5% tip policy (the customer should decide what and whether to leave &we usually give at least a cash equivalent) otherwise 5 stars

No vegetarian or vegan option. No oat milk. Not a great choice for us sadly. Consequently the food took 45 mins to arrive as the chef scrambled to put something together (ratatouille and pasta - hardly a 45 min wait?).

Staff were efficient and friendly and food was of very good quality. And the free cocktail was also very enjoyable.

Welcome complimentary cocktail was well received. Three starters of onion soup sadly had to be returned as cold. So 3 ate and then the other 3 finally Ate there soups. Mains were nice. Found it odd that at 2145, bearing in mind the closure of restaurant at 2200pm the male waiter asked if we would like another bottle of cremant-in fact in was annoying. How are are the 2 people drinking meant to drink a bottle in 15 mins? It felt very money grabbing even though our bill was nearly £300! We appreciate you have had a challenging time in hospitality which is why we choose to support a local favourite restaurant, but sadly, this left a bitter taste. Maybe because you were so busy? Which is good for your business but it definitely impacted on our experience.

Waiters were very nice as usual, service was amazing and very fast. All of the food that we ordered was exactly as we asked, it made us have a very enjoyable night. Everyone including waiters were very good with wearing their face masks and keeping to the COVID rules to keep everyone safe.

We had brunch here this morning. It was nice to visit somewhere, where apart from the masks, it didn’t feel any different. Tables have always been well spaced. Food was very good, staff excellent and there was a good atmosphere. Would thoroughly recommend and plan to return for lunch very soon.

I was surprised there was no hand sanitizer on entering the restaurant especially after opening the door outwards to enter. Customer service was very good and food was good. We thought more care should have been in place to keep everyone safe with hand sanitizers. I am glad that we had brought our own to use before eating. I did notice you handing out face masks to those who did not have their own which was reassuring.

Fab evening and meal and loved the way the waiter brought up wine to taste first , so friendly and professional, will definitely be back x

Another very enjoyable meal at our favourite restaurant in WGC. A good range of excellent dishes served by friendly and attentive staff. Overall difficult to fault and the standard by which we judge other restaurants.
