Côte Welwyn Garden City

We had a very nice evening and the food was excellent. We did not receive the complimentary bottle of wine which was offered when I booked the table. I mentioned it to the manageress who told me that she would send an email to head office. Watch this space !!!

Good service. Nice starters of calamari and prawns. Steak for two wasn’t the greatest, and was cooked medium rare instead of medium. Crepe desert overpowered with orange zest. Reasonable price.

The food was outstanding. It was very busy so although the staff were extremely helpful and courteous we had to wait a while for them to attend to us. There was also a long wait between our starters and main courses. Despite this we would definitely go back and would recommend

The food was great as usual and the service was excellent. I think that Cote is definitely the best place to eat in Welwyn Garden City.

There was a good choice on the menu, including specials. The food was good and we had very good service. We would not hesitate to go again.

Excellent evening. Food was very good. Service was excellent. They made a big fuss for my mother's 100th year celebration - decorating her dessert plate, although we hadn't told them in advance. Would recommend it

A very enjoyable lunch with the normal good service. For one of us the meat was a little tough but despite this her lunch was not spoilt overall. The house champagne still surprises us with its quality and the meteor lager is very typically French. All in all we find that you are a very hard act to beat. Peter, Broxbourne

Excellent waiters and attention to detail. Very good value for money. Only criticism, the Breton chicken in the salad did taste like leftovers-not quite fresh!

Very nice food . But it was very cold in there we sat by the window next we will make sure we sit in the middle .

Cote have some very good dishes that it is difficult to find elsewhere and their style of service is different and works well. If you are a seafood lover like me you will have difficulty beating the Breton stew.

Food was good for the price. Service could have been a bit friendlier. We were given a nice table by the window which was good, as not so noisy.

Had the lunch menu, starters were lovely but main courses were lacking. The pork was full of fat and the 'salad' had about five leaves. Poor

We had a nice evening. One of our party ordered the Cod Goujons but didn't want five of them as it would be too much. So we asked to be served only three. The waiter was hesitant as he wasn't sure he could get the dish at a cheaper rate. We told him we were happy to pay the stated price. But when the food was brought the chef had added an extra portion of chips instead. As the reason for asking for a smaller portion was that the normal size would be too big, having twice as many chips was not what was wanted. We were trying hard not to waste food.

The place was buzzing considering it was midweek. Great food and service and with an offer for a free bottle of wine, which was very nice, the whole occasion was excellent value for money!

The November special Cassoulet was excellent. Service as always efficient and friendly and the regular menu was excellent. Especially enjoyed the grand mariner crepe. We'll be back soon.

Excellent service and good food again tonight as we have come to expect from this restaurant. very busy for a weekday evening which creates a good ambiance.

Good food as always on our visits. Very quiet for a Saturday night, not as much atmosphere as normal. Also a bit chilly, which is surprising for a restaurant! Staff pleasant.Would go back again, in fact booked to go in 2 weeks time!

For ages Welwyn Garden City didn’t really have any decent restaurants so we were pleased whenCote arrived. We have taken friends and family there and they have all enjoyed the food and ambience too. We had a delicious Anniversary dinner there yesterday. The St Albans Cote too is good.

The food was very good and the attentive service was fantastic. We were very impressed with the staff and menu choice. We have no issues with recommending this restaurant to friends.

Amazing breakfast with complimentary Mimosas! Thank you for your generous hospitality. Delicious croissants and jam. Lovely calm and sophisticated atmosphere too. We went for a birthday treat and it was just lovely!

We were welcomed by a friendly restaurant manager who seated us quickly. Staff were courteous and ambiance pleasant. Enjoyed our food choices. Will definitely visit again.

It was excellent although we had a new waitress & she spilt a bottle of coke & forgot the olives. We go here a lot.

We were a party of five and went for a pre-wedding meal. We had asked if possible for Côte to make some sort of table decoration to help us celebrate the wedding. When we arrived the table had balloons, bows and we were each given a complimentary Kir Royale. The staff were very attentive - service was really good, the food was amazing and overall we had a very lovely meal. Thoroughly recommend Côte - 5* all the way! Thank you again :)

Had a lovely evening great good and service ,the ambiance was just right , we had a perfect table next to the window, had good time and all the staff were friendly.

Unusually slightly disappointed last night - appreciate restaurant was busy - but service was erratic - too pushy at beginning - and then wine arrived 3/4 of way through our main course

The food was really delicious and the staff were friendly and accommodating. When a coffee was not hot enough, and we asked for another one, they brought it to us straight away. I have scored 5 rather than 6 because they were a little bit busy and forgot to bring me a gluten free menu, but I was able to look it up on my phone. And our food was brought out quickly but we had to wait a little while to have our food order taken. Otherwise I would have scored 6 out of 6.

Poor quality, over cooked steak for 1 of our party of 8. Had to send it back and it took a very long time to be changed.

Today we arrived and found that the original staff had changed and the service was slow,we had limited time for a lunch but the kitchen failed to deliver our food. We had to leave before our starter, hopefully this will change and they will get this sorted when we next visit.

We arrived a little early and having been warmly greeted, we were given a choice of tables, including one in an attractive position for a larger group than we were; of course we chose that one because it is good to have space. Throughout, the service was extremely attentive without being intrusive, and our meals were both hot and delicious.

The service was excellent. Plenty of food choices on the menu, it was freshly cooked and piping hot. No rush to get us out when the meal was finished. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends.

I have been to this Cote a few times and never had a problem until this visit. We went on a Sunday afternoon for a special family occasion and two of the main courses we wanted to order were sold out. This does happen sometimes but I don't understand how this can happen mid afternoon when they had the evening to get through. What's left for the evening diners? After waiting quite a long time for our food we found out that our order hadn't been given to the chef. The manager did try his best to sort the situation out and gave us a discount but it did spoil the experience and we probably wouldn't return for a while.

Staff are always excellent in providing a high standard of service the food is very good value for the money. In the middle range of restaurants Cote is outstanding for good food good value and good service ( as with most catering establishments the bulk of the staff are not UK citizens I hope they are not ruined by brexit)

Great venue, good value for money food and excellent staff. Two vegetarian guests thoroughly enjoyed the veggie option of mushroom (I think) crepes. Good to have something other than pasta for them. Well done Cote. We will be back soon.

Arrived early, and we were seated straight away not quite as busy as previous occasions. Enjoyed the meal, food is always good, specials don't seem to change often.

My niece, her son and I had an excellent meal, well presented, in pleasant surroundings. The staff were all very pleasant and polite. I would recommend Cote (have been to others in three locations) to anyone.

A pre birthday celebration with three close friends. A perfect evening, excellent charming service, superb wine Kir Royale on the house. Menu great and food excellent.

Great steak served on a HOT plate which we love as it makes a big difference. Staff very helpful and friendly too. We will definitely return.

The service was really fast and efficient. Andrew, the gentleman serving us, was very friendly and checked to see if our food was okay during our starter, main and dessert. Normally I find that, when i'm in a restaurant, people can hang around tables and it makes me feel uncomfortable but Andrew went about his other tables but made sure that we were satisfied with our food. The food is always perfect when I go to Côte Brasserie and this occasion was no exception. I'm so grateful to have such a good quality restaurant in Welwyn Garden City.

Position of restaurant is ideal , staff are friendly and food is reasonable but not great . 12.5% compulsory gratuity isn’t great as well , so it makes a mediocre meal expensive

Service was very slow and we had to ask twice for plates for our starter. We had to call staff rushing by for more drinks and water. A shame because at other Cote restaurants we have had a really good experience. In the past it's been better in WGC too

Had a superb lunch with friends. The set menu is excellent, 3 courses for £13.50. The staff were lovely - my favourite restaurant in WGC

All round excellence in the food served and the service. We have eaten several times at Cote restaurants and are always pleased. On this occasion we had friends with us who had not visited a Cote Restaurant before and they were very impressed. Well done!
