Côte Welwyn Garden City

All the food was delicious, however it was an hour and a half between our main course and dessert. It was Mother’s Day however, and we’ve eaten here a few times with really good service. Because of the delay we were given our Desserts on the house. We would still eat here again.

Great food but let down by poor service and overcrowding. Went for mother’s day and was very disappointed by spacing between tables which meant that servers had to literally squeeze by with the large trays they use! Constantly worried that something was was going to fall on one of us.

Brilliant service and very prompt with food, gave us free toast as well, friendly staff and food was lovely I recommend the vegetarian breakfast and the cappucino

The food was very good everyone enjoyed their mains and dessert but the service was slow. We had young children with us who were getting tired of waiting for their food.

Very pleasant Mother’s Day brunch with great food and great service. Good value and atmosphere too, will be returning soon. Very friendly staff, thank you.

Wife Cut lip on chipped coffee cup! Overall experience impacted by this unfortunate event. Food okay and service very prompt. Perhaps need to check their tableware!

Delicious food served in a relaxed and comfortable environment, will definitely return. Staff were attentive and polite. I would Highly recommended the chocolate mousse for dessert.

We were a group of 4 for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We waited ages to be served and it took a long time after we ordered for the food to arrive. The food was fine but it spoiled the occasion. When the manager realised what a wait we had had he refused to charge us anything for the meal. This was a generous compensation but the damage had already been done. I accepted his offer and made a fairly generous tip to reflect his attitude.

It was a busy Friday night so limited choice of table. Opted for one near the bar which was fine but noisy. Food was great though.

Initial waitress a little offish but think she was at end of shift and never saw her again. Others were superb as was the food.

We enjoyed great food in a good atmosphere. The background music is at the right level. The service is good and on the whole staff are friendly.

Good food but service not brilliant. Be aware 12.5% optional service added to the bill. We deducted but left a tip to suit the service received.

Had a lovely evening catching up with old friends. The food was excellent with just the right amount of attention by the staff. Signed up for the free glass of kir royale for each guest when I booked a table in March.

Pleasant greeting on arrival and shown to our table. Found the waiter and all the staff polite and helpful with coats etc. The food itself was very well presented and served by efficient waiter. The menu was varied with plenty of choice. It was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience, so nice to have a decent restaurant in W.G.City. Thank You Mr & Mrs Webster

Although not cheap the breakfast is very good and the ambience much better than your average caff. Service is very good. We always enjoy it there.

Have visited the Welwyn garden city cote and others several times and as ever an excellent meal with very good service from helpful and friendly staff.

Nice atmosphere, attentive service. Food was as always good quality...particularly enjoyed the chicken liver parfait and the roast pork belly. Fun family night out celebrating.

Good food as usual (the sword fish was excellent) and pleasant service however the bill arrived having charged for the complimentary kir royale which then had to be refunded which was disappointing.

Food and service good as ever. Have never been disappointed at this branch of Cote. It is a very pleasant environment and the staff are always very helpful and attexture. Any problems are always quickly remedied

The atmosphere was very pleasant and the staff were helpful and attentive. The two course early menu was good value and we had a tasty bottle of Viognier.

Good food and friendly service. Ordered monkfish and found the portion very small, otherwise very happy with our 2 starters and other main course. Would prefer service to be discretionary rather than 12.5%

Staff were a bit grumpy and condescending . Ok it was a Sunday morning and all the “ upper class families” were there just be cause I look a bit different doesn’t mean I’m poor. Could do better

We had a nice evening with friends. Having had a couple of visits over the summer where the service had been very very slow we hadn’t been for a while, but last night the food was really good and the service definitely seemed to have improved.

Food was excellent and mostly service was very good however my main course came out at least 10 minutes after my two fellow diners due to an error. This spoilt the evening a bit although to be fair they did apologise and took the cost of my meal off the bill. When it did arrive it was very good.

As always a visit to Cote was. I thing short of brilliant. The 3 course early evening menu has great choices and represents great value. The chocolate mousse is simply the best. Staff are always so friendly and polite.

Food was excellent as always, wine is a ripoff, £30 for a bottle that would cost no more than £4 in any supermarket, restaurant was also cold!!

Quiet Sunday evening. Food was really good and service attentive. Forgot my husbands salad but otherwise faultless. Service included on bill 12.5% so no reason to leave a tip.

Lovely atmosphere on a miserable lunchtime in February. Great food with reasonable portion sizes espcially starters and deserts. Costly but well worth it for a great Valentine's Day lunch :)

We visited midweek at lunch time, a party of 5. The food was great but the service appallingly slow and rude. Will stick to Cote in St Albans in the future, a much nicer experience.

You were just to busy. Our order got lost on the kitchen. When we sorted tht my valentines meal was delivered partly uncooked. We got the meal free for my partner. But not exactly the best Valentin experience.

Tasty and brilliant friendly service. Roasted sea bass was delicious and the atmosphere was really good and was looked after very well. Will be going back again

The quality of the food was not as good as expected for the prices charged. The waitress strongly suggested vegetables were not included with mains on the valentines set menu so side’s had to be ordered, further increasing the cost of the meal. 12.5% was added to the bill.

The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and very helpful. There was a nice atmosphere and really nice not to be rushed. We will go again.

Another delicious lunch chosen from the special February menu - amazing value at £11-50 for two courses. The staff always make us feel very welcome, and especially today as it is Isabella's birthday! Thank you again.
