Excellent as always. There to celebrate a 50th birthday and offered free drinks to celebrate. Also arranged to bring out a surprise birrhday cake for us. Nothing was too much bother for the very busy staff.

Great service polite staff and attentive, good food as always . Restaurant clean and a good atmosphere . We shall be returning for lunch in two weeks time .

I’d had a disappointing meal previously, but the summer menu is awesome. The tuna carpaccio and cod in bacon are delicious! Should put them on the a la Carte menu.

Terribly poor service. We waited 50 minutes for our main course. The drinks took a while to come out.There was no toilet paper in any of the ladies cubicles.

This is a lovely restaurant with very kind, helpful and attentive staff. The menu was interesting and varied, food excellent and beautifully presented, extremely good value for money.

a Lovely sunny evening and we sat by the open window which was very pleasan. The food as always was very good and the service excellent.

Very good, food is excellent, it’s a nice place to enjoy a relaxing time, I come here often and it’s always a very good choice.

Had a great meal and everything was fine. The only small thing that stops me giving a maximum is this. The idea of a service charge to me is that it allows me the customer, to make a mark in appreciation to the staff. So this privalege is taken away from me buy a pre determined, non negotiable amount of 12.5%. The staff on my visit were just great, but supposing they hadn’t been.

Good lunch service and nice food. Food turned up in good time and was well cooked, well presented and tasty! Dessert was v good also.

Food was good but service was slow. Also it was a very hot day and where we sat the fire exit door was left slightly open so instead of the air conditioning keeping us cool we had hot air coming in from this open door.

Good amosphere with attentive staff and the whole process from seating to paying the bill ran efficiently without ever feeling hurried or rushed . Well done

Had a late breakfast (could say brunch) which, as always, was very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food very enjoyable.

I generally find the food at Cote is high quality and the atmosphere informal with a certain je ne sais quoi. I like the changes int he menu each month, although it is shame the boeuf bourguinon has been taken off. Service can be a little tardy or slow at times. Shame they missed my birthday but I will be going back

Restaurant very noisy, and my request for an acknowledgement of my guest's 85th birthday that I had telephoned in advance to request as it was a special meal for him. I did as requested on arrival and reminded the staff and it had been noted on the computer but it did not happen as my friend and I only ever manage two courses and I had explained that to the staff when I made my request. Disappointed!

Another delicious lunch served by such friendly staff - Thank you all - My only tiny criticism was that the bread served with the pate was SO hard!

As always service was fantastic, the male french manager is always so kind and accommodating of everything you ask. Lovely experience as usual I simply love this restaurant!

Went on a lovely sunny day. Sat in a lovely cool spot and enjoyed a good quality meal and a glass of fizz. Often come here for a quality meal at a fairly reasonable price.

Great to have a cosmopolitan feel in WGC with good value food, pleasant ambience, lunch is particularly enjoyable, friendly waiters and a very fair price.

Second visit in 8 days. Plenty to choose from on the ‘set menu’ (don’t forget to turn over the page for an alternative premium menu). Requested a table by the open bi-fold doors - and the staff duly obliged. Great meal and great setting for watching the world go by.

Great food and staff at my local branch. The service is brilliant and we were surprised to be given complimentary drinks when they realised it was a birthday celebration. We had a wonderful evening and will return!

Always get good food and service from Cote at Welwyn Garden City .The choice of menus are excellent with al la carte and fixed price menus for lunch and dinner

The breakfast deal at £10.50 is, in my opinion, good value. The food is good quality and I really enjoyed my eggs royal - top nosh 👌 The staff at Coates, Welwyn are always friendly and welcoming.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. They allowed us time to chat together before making our menu choices. The food arrived in good time and was excellent. Wine was good. Prices were reasonable. Best place for lunch in Welwyn Garden City.

Efficient and friendly service. Enjoyable lunch with lots of menu choices. Reasonably priced wine and no problem obtaining plain tap water to drink alongside. Good location with choice of seating indoors and outside. Will be visiting again.

Nice restaurant and location...friendly staff,. Went there with my wife for an evening meal . The waitress asked if we would like some bread and olive's when we were shown to our table .... which I assumed was complimentary ...its not....and to be presented with the final bill with a 12% optional tip already added was pressurised intimidation.....I would prefer to decide myself if I want to give a tip or not depending on my overall experience ...... I personally will not go there again as I felt disappointed with the sharp practice employed to extract as much as possible from their customers.

Good service although a bit slow but there were 7 of us so will take that into consideration, nice restaurant, varied choice of menu & good food. Will book again.

A friendly welcome as always. Service very attentive but not overly so with good quality food. Wine was good. A congenial atmosphere and consistently good.

Inexperienced waitress careless with our order resulting in spoiled meal. Manager aware intervened then overcharged us. I usually recommend this local restaurant to friends as on all other occasions staff have helped and provided for my special needs.

Very pleasant Father’s Day with an offer of free creme caramel and dessert wine. Service not quite as excellent as usual on a busy day, but still very good and the food quality excellent as always.

The atmosphere is great. The food is delicious. The service in Welwyn Garden City is first class. The whole dining experience is excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant.

I had to change my booking to a later time. Very accomadating and delicious food! The staff were very helpful and attentive to our needs. Food came quickly and all together. I will definitely go back!

The service and food were good. They had run out of house Rose and some of the food choices. The Provence Rose was rather expensive.

A lovely meal with great service. We love going here for the food and the people. A very relaxed and enjoyable experience that we highly recommend.

Normaly great experience. Today however very slow service. 1 Item missing off the breakfast. Hair in my sons scrambled egg. No extras or discount offered . So a disappointing visit this time. This is still our favourite restutant in wgc and this won't stop us going there.

Went here for the first time today and can't recommend it enough. Food was excellent and very flavoursome, staff very friendly and spoilt for choice with the menu. My husband said this was his new favourite restaurant. Excellent experience and can't wait to return

As always very good food, not very organised service, on a busy Father’s Day breakfast more staff provision would make it less stressful. Good time all in all

Lovely food and excellent service. We booked for 7:15 which was an ideal time as it wasn’t too busy so we had a very prompt welcome and a choice of tables.

Quality of food and service good. Enjoyed all meals I have had at this restaurant . Prefer to go on quiet nights as it can get busy and noisy being a large place.
