Côte Tunbridge Wells

We enjoyed a pre-theatre meal thanks to great service and very good food. The staff make the experience very enjoyable and hassle free far better than some London eateries.

New menu started that day and there was a lot of confusion with orders. The manageress was charming and apologetic, food was delicious but the waiter was very dismissive and off hand and we did not feel that our custom was valued.

As regular diners, we never cease to be amazed at the choices offered on the lunchtime menu, the quality of the cooking and the the cheerful, efficient manner in which the members of the waiting staff go about their business.

Excellent service, delicious food reasonably priced. What's not to like? All the staff appear to be trained to a high standard, it shows and is appreciated. Well done Cote!

Busy! Not only the time of year but obviously a very popular choice with residents and visitors in and around the area ,,,,,as usual, excellent service and food , value for money and a great ambience.

The food was delicious with generous portions and well presented. The service was friendly and attentive. Always a nice atmosphere in Cote and the bill was reasonable for what we received.

The service was not the best and the food neither. The waiter didn’t even know which food was for whom and couldn’t make the difference between the meats. Also how he served wine was not well done.

Would recommend this restaurant to my friends. Very friendly and attentive staff. Good choice of food on the menu. This restaurant is also situated close to the local Theatre 🎭 a bonus.

Good food, terrible service, lousy coffee. In need of proper management and more staff. Service was surly and slow and coffee tasted more like hot milk and water. Food is consistently good which rescued it up to a point.

Lovely restaurant. Great quality food. Simple dishes, put together beautifully to create delicious flavours. Lovely staff. I would eat there every day if I could!

Fabulous Tasty food however my Calamari starter was unusually smaller than previous times hence mark of 5 instead of 6. Hope this is not Cote cost cutting !

It really needed more staff as it was very busy and that would have shortened the waiting time. The food was good and the staff were pleasant even under pressure.

Good hot food staff very good nice atmosphere busy restaurant ! Extensive menu euth mix and match items , meal with drinks for 4 £150 so not very expensive but they do include tips which always annoys me !!

Table booked for 18.15 but none available on arrival. Crazy busy ahead of theatre start nearby @ 19.30. Did not appear to be enough staff front of house but they did brilliantly. Once service started it progressed seamlessly. All courses arrived in good time, including side dishes from main menu, everything was cooked perfectly. Faultless. What more can you ask for?

The food is always good in Cote Brasserie and very reasonably priced, unfortunately today the service did not come up to scratch as they had a computer glitch with orders going to the kitchen so there was almost an hour gap between our starter and main course. The staff were doing their best but if my friend and I had been on a lunch hour we would have not been able to eat our main course.

After a small respite from using this fine restaurant , we returned to find the ambience unchanged and still very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The food was still a high quality ( recommend the the Walnut , chicken salad. the chicken now wonderfully chargrilled due to the attention of a newly employed chef ) Excellent, 6 stars !!!!

Friendly obliging staff, the food was as good as usual with plenty of choice and special offers. Highly recommended if you like French cuisine. Ours was a pre-theatre visit so it was important that the service was prompt, which it was.

Although the restaurant was extremely busy, our service wasn't at it's best. That tables are pushed Very close together, I cannot stand it when a waiter/waitress leans across the table to serve and remove plates, at one time the waiter caught his sleeve on my roll and butter. When serving our dessert, the waiter was very engrossed in new customers entering and just plonked my guests dessert down without even looking where it landed.

Food good as usual but service slow , and wrong wine bought to table then took ages to get the wine

Restaurant was busy and we had to wait for our meals.I had to remind the waiter for the wine we had ordered.The table we were offered was draughty as it was near the door.

Been to Cote several times recently at lunchtime and been impressed with quality of food, interesting menu, good service and overall value for money. On this particular day we had booked in for 1315. It was very busy and the serving staff were obviously under pressure coping with numbers. Our order was taken promptly enough but there was a pretty long delay was taken before the first course arrived. Fortunately we were not on a tight schedule and so I didn't say anything at the time. Once the food arrived the meal then proceeded at a good pace. I was impressed at the end when (without being asked) they offered a reasonable discount in view of the slow service.

Great service from all the staff. This is a fun place to eat with good choice. More vegan options would get a 6 from me.

Always good food and value for money. I have a hearing problem and ask for a table upstairs which is quieter, however, they had not opened up stairs, but very, very kindly took our desserts off the bill.

The Cote restaurant in Tunbridge Wells is not the best that we have visited. The menu choice was good, service excellent but the Boeuf Bourguignon was rather average, as was the Tuna Nicoise.

Food good but service extremely slow. Waited ages and ended up having to give us a free meal as still waiting for desserts at 11.45 which never came!

Good food. Slow service. Reasonable value. Cote is formulaic - I had lunch at the Richmond branch last week and the menu was the same. Normally service is good but on this occasion I had to ask twice for our pudding order and everything seemed to take a long time.

A good french brasserie which will not disappoint. A wide selection of French wines and a very good menu. Staff are friendly and very helpful.

Food very salty, service very good. Clearly the chef doesn’t taste food before it gets sent out. I usually enjoy eating at Cote restaurants but I would think twice about returning to this one

All as expected really - good food, good service in a friendly atmosphere. No issues with any aspect of the experience. Would recommend as a good place in central Tunbridge Wells to eat.

Really enjoyed our supper last night. All of us thought the food was delicious and the staff helpful and pleasant. The menus gave us plenty to chose from. It was also nice and warm in the restaurant.

For me this restaurant has got it right. Seasonal food, well cooked and presented Excellent service and incredible value. I would highly recommend it to my friends and family.

Good menu. Helpful, polite staff.Near car park and only a short walk from the theatre. Nice views of the Christmas lights. I would recommend it.

An incredibly wonderful restaurant... the food atmosphere the staff especially Gabriella the manager who is very attentive and knows what guests want!! Well done Cote!

The restaurant was very busy but they coped very well. We didn't have to wait long for our food and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were all satisfied with our meals. Would recommend to others

Despite not being busy the service was slow and some of the dishes were significantly colder than one might expect. Although they refused to concede that the service was slow, for no other reason that I could suppose, the bill had a deduction that was not requested.

The food and service was amazing. The toilets on the other hand and had clearly not been checked for a while and two out of the three were disgusting.

I went for dinner with my 3 children, I was given 4 different menus and the children were each given 5 different menus! The food was very good, we had 5 clean plates. All in all we enjoyed our visit. Would definitely visit again.

Excellent as always even when increasingly busy as the festive season approaches. Food and service consistently good and a warm welcome offered to all whether one-off visitors or regular customers.

We all enjoyed the evening, the food, wine and service all being excellent. We shall return soon and look forward to the same excellent experience

Very good value set lunch menu and friendly attentive staff. Would prefer not to have service charge added automatically, as this should be my personal choice based on my experience on that occasion.

Very friendly service and the food was tasty and well presented. We were short of time and were served quickly, but with no sense of rushing us.

Our meal was excellent as always and the staff were very welcoming and speedy. We were tucked away in a room with wooden floors which meant that it was a quieter area, which we like, as we find it difficult to hear if a place is very noisy.

Excellent service and excellent food at our pre theatre meal. The food at Cote is always reliable. It made our evening out to the theatre complete!

Another lovely meal again with plenty of choice from the set lunchtime menu. Really enjoyed the complimentary glasses of kir royale for my birthday. Great service from our waiter too.

We enjoyed our visit the service was very good and the food choice was interesting with new items on the menu. We have found that Côte’s staff are courteous and efficient which ensures a good meal
