We enjoyed a very good breakfast and the service was excellent. A small mix up with scrambled/fried eggs was quickly and politely sorted out. Highly recommended

Very nice meal, good service (very busy, but we didn't need much attention). Food all good, only criticism is that the chicken salad wasn't too easy to eat in the deep bowl, would have been better on a plate.

I have always enjoyed going to Côte but this time my meal wasn’t cooked properly and when I pointed it out was very impressed as a fresh meal was prepared and they took the cost off my bill as I had to wait a while. Can’t fault the service and food finally was delicious.

Understaffed. The staff are good but run off their feet. So everything takes forever or is forgotten. A shame as the service used to be very good.

Good food service was poor, waited for 30 mins for the bill to be given after not even being offered dessert menus. Then had to wait another 5 mins for the card machine. Ruined what was a nice evening and won’t be in a rush to return.

A visit to Côte Brasserie for a pre-theatre meal never fails to please , the food as usual was excellent with friendly and polite staff, in a really nice setting.

Arrived at 5.30 for a pre dinner meal but main course did not arrive until 7.05!! This was after many conversations but very little in the way of explanation or response regarding progress from the management. They clearly had a problem in the kitchen but keeping the customer informed is paramount. This just did not happen. We left in time to run to the theatre. We told them that we would not be paying the bill and this was accepted by the manager. Simply dreadful particularly as the promote pre theatre dining!!!

Table booked as part of a theatre offer. Due to slow being seated, long wait for main course we missed 10mins of the show :-(

Very very poor. Took and hour and a half to get starters and we sat diwn at 5.30 and our starters arrived 6.55. (After complaining) and then dinner arrived at 7.10pm when we had to be at Assembly Halls by 7.30. Went with my parents to celebrate my mums birthday with dinner and show and we ended up leaving most of our dinner (steaks were badly cooked) and not having pudding or coffee. A very rushed, poor meal.

Extremely busy, long delays for food. Some people left after waiting 45 mins for their meals. Staff trying hard but seemed understaffed in kitchen. The table we had was by doorway into service area and lots of noise from plates, bottles etc. Food was okay but not worth the money.

We arrived at 5.45, ordered drinks, starter and main course. Starter arrived after over an hour, left at 7.05 before the main course arrived (hungry) to get to the theatre on time. Problem with the till apparently??? However, in their favour, they did not charge us.

Good service considering it was very busy! Food was lovely and reasonable prices. Specials menu offered something different than the normal menu. Cote de Provence was exceptional.

Very busy so service was a bit slow. Didn’t have time for pudding as we had to go to a show straight afterwards. Food was fine. Waitress was very apologetic. Bless!

We had the 2 course lunch menu for £11.95 which was good value. The haddock was very tasty. The restaurant was busy, and so rather noisy. It also meant service was a little slow but luckily we weren't in a hurry. There was a scene at the table next to us and the manager gave us our coffee and tea for free which was a nice gesture, as it hadn't really affected us, and we certainly hadn't asked!

Dirty tables and glasses. It is a bit of a pain to have to pick bits of green (salad leaves?) that have been through a dishwasher off glasses. the table looked as though it had been wiped by a cloth that had cleaned a floor. Everything else was not too bad but the dirty table and glasses (4 in total) was an unnecessary let-down

Food and service was very good, Pork Belly was very good! Unfortunately my dad had the half chicken and whilst nice he felt it was a little dry. My wife had the minute steak with frites and as usual was very good. At a busy lunchtime the main room does become a little noisy but nice central town location.

Indifferent service and very poor to leave the restaurant we had to ask for the bill three times and the final time was to the manager directly and we then paid in cash without the discretionary tip , spoilt what should have been a nice lunch

Great food, switched on staff, but a wobbly table!... complimentary drinks were offered to celebrate our sons birthdays which was nice and they sung happy birthday, although one of our steaks wasn’t so great. Maybe ask people how their food is a little further into the meal, they asked so soon we handn’t got to try everything... but I’m being fussy here, it really was a lovely evening.

Great for pre theatre dinner but you must booked. Despite being very busy we received great service and the food was excellent value for money. Please note that there is a disabled toilet tucked away so you do not need to walk up two flights of stairs if you have a disability.

There were a couple of problems with the dishes we ordered (one slightly undercooked steak, and one extremely tough steak), but when this was brought to the staff's attention both issues were quickly and politely remedied. We would certainly be very happy to visit again.

We went for lunch before a matinee performance at Trinity. The service was good (we had told our waiter we needed to be out in time for the performance) and the food was excellent. A light lunch of salmon, asparagus and new potatoes followed by lemon sorbet. Just perfect for a very hot Bank Holiday Sunday.
