Our first meal out after lockdown - lovely alfresco meal and delightful service - thank you everyone at Cote !

The staff make any visit to Cote worthwhile, it is part of the reason we eat there. Shrewsbury Cote excels in this respect. Considering the well known high street brands that have pulled out of large cities like Birmingham we are pleased that Cote have decided to continue to serve Shrewsbury. I feel sure that the custom that used to patronise these other restaurants will now come to Cote, we will. Peter & Paddy Hall

Really lovely to back at Cote in Shrewsbury, and to see some familiar staff. The food and service was great and we felt very safe and relaxed.

Just perfect after lockdown and the first day of opening. Highly professional, lovely food and wine. Cannot recommend highly enough. The team were amazing!

Just slightly marred by having to re-book in order to qualify for the complimentary drink offered online when I had already booked online. This is the second time I have had a bit of an issue with the complimentary drink!

Great breakfast as always never had a bad meal here at breakfast lunch or dinner. Have taken lots of friends and family as we know we can really on atmosphere service and food, staff very friendly.

A very enjoyable lunch. The complimentary cocktail was a welcome bonus. Waitress was delightful. Attentive and good-humoured. My only criticism is that the main meals often need potatoes and vegetables to be purchased separately. I feel these should be included. Looking forward to my next visit hopefully very soon.

We have visited this restaurant before and found it nice and placed ideally near the town centre, unfortunately this time although the service wasn't terrible it was slow and are drinks were wrong for are first ordèr and we had to grab a member of staff to get are second round ordered then the wait between are starters and main meals seemed a long time especially as we only stopped for lunch . While it wasn't a bad experience for the money we paid we had expected a lot more from COTE.

Delicious food and friendly, professional staff. I'd booked for my mum's 80th birthday and we were so impressed how everyone made her feel very special. Thank you.

We have eaten at Cote many times and always enjoy the experience. I said to my husband tonight, this is a quality meal. The food is always cooked and presented to perfection and the staff are welcoming, efficient and friendly. The ambience is great with nice background music and pleasant surroundings. We had a complimentary bottle of wine and Germain gin and tonic cocktail which made our evening even more special.

Always reliable. Staff very helpful and friendly. I had a free bottle of wine for my birthday - much appreciated. Your stars for waiting time and noise level are confusing - if no waiting, is it 5 or 0 ?? If no noise, is it 5 stars or 0 ? I had no waiting time and there was not too much noise !

Excellent service and good food. My friends enjoyed the crab bisque and the duck. We had our usual dessert of ice cream with hot chocolate sauce delicious

Atmosphere nice, very busy, felt a bit forgotten at times took a while to order food and get the bill. Food was OK quite dry.

Our server was amazing. The sweetest young lady ever. She made our experience great. Food was only ok this time. My steak was rare not medium. A big difference. Ordered a side of potatoes au gratin. It was puny. Totally not an acceptable size for a side that costs that much. Also the side of carrots was also ridiculously small. Not sure who worked the kitchen last night but they need a lesson in how to cook a steak. Wine was great. Atmosphere always great. Will always be back. Just hope to see more consistency in the food.

Very good service and lovely food, only criticism is the service charge is a bit steep , would be nice to leave the tip you want not have it automatically added . 12.50 on top for a meal for two was a bit excessive !

Nice welcome, wasn't sat down for a minute that I was asked what I wanted to drink. Hadn't had time to look! So just chose in a hurry as the waitress was waiting. My daughter had the pork belly which she didn't eat, the potato dish was salty and her extra carrots had been forgotten but came in the middle of the meal they certainly weren't glazed. I paid the extortionate service charge although I thought it was cheeky as the service was far from perfect Won't be returning for a while

The main course was decent, tasty & warm, although the green beans weren't trimmed so we did it ourselves. No slice of lemon for the water, good wine lest but white wine not chilled enough. The crepe was disappointing, luke warm with a small squirt of cream. Coffee excellent. Presentation not very good. Not much care put into any of it. Service: We weren't looked after by one waitress, as is the norm, but by a few different waitresses, who ever was passing . We waited a good while before any of them noticed we'd finished our main course so it was a while before our plates were taken away & then I had to go and get the desert menu myself as we couldn't get the attention of any of the waitresses, even though the restaurant was almost empty. It looked as if it was being run by a bunch of teenagers, there wasn't a genuine adult anywhere to be seen (except at the very end) & it showed. Get an grown up manager on site & some more mature staff. As you're charging 12% service charge you owe it to your customers. Surely.

Fabulous food, great service, love the atmosphere, wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. This was our fourth visit and yet again we were not disappointed. Love it

This Was our second time and did not disappoint . From opening the door to being seated we were all made to feel welcome . Thankyou for a very enjoyable evening good food ,wine and company what more could you need . Definitely would recommend

Usually excellent but felt a little short staffed for a busy lunch service, hence service suffered slightly. Excellent food as always. Plates took a while to be cleared would be my main criticism. Will be back though as usually on the ball!

I'm so disappointed with my visit. I regularly dine at Cote, majority of times during the evening with family & friends. however I've always been a fan of the Breakfast menu, until today. The coffee cups were tiny & weak coffee, they didn't fit the saucers (why change them when previously was perfect). The plates were a smaller design, allowing a significant smaller portion to be served. The (smaller) breakfast had no taste, no seasoning, with 'snotty' poached eggs. I was going to email you. I'm very sad as I now need to find a new place to eat, as I'm sorry I'm put off returning. I totally appreciate you were busy today & the long wait & slightly wrong order for my husband on fathers day was overlooked due to this

This was our first visit to the Shrewsbury Cote. Our visit came up to the usual standard that we expect from our visits to other restaurants. Service was efficient and friendly and the food was excellent.

A lovely relaxed Sunday evening meal. Attentive and professional service. Food was delicious.

Went for valentines day and was far from impressed. Poor choice of food. Over stretched themselves where staff couldn't cope. Had an hour gap between every course. Food came out cold, puddings melted. Very poor quality and value for money

Enjoyed a warm welcome and an enjoyable meal ! The only slight negative was the chicken on the Breton half chicken main was slightly dry ! Perhaps a small jug of a white wine cream sauce may be the answer ?

Although busy service was good until desert (ordered at beginning of meal) which took nearly 40 minutes to arrive. No excuse others who arrived after us received theirs (same desert) before us. Also tried to charge us for free wine. 12.5% service charge is too high, even if discretionary.

Food excellent atmosphere good quality of service very good and regard as good value for money. Service and staff very friendly website offers honoured. Nice touch to get a card on our anniversary

We normally have a great meal, however this evening was disappointing. After a lengthy wait our dinner arrived, my friends piping hot however mine was cold. After complaining (which I hate doing) the manager offered to get me a fresh one cooked, what was delivered 5 minutes later was the same dish but cooked more. Yes it was indeed now hot, however the duck was dry and tough. The carrots that were ordered as a side didn’t arrive back at the table until 10 minutes after the meals, again disappointing. The staff were very polite throughout and did offer complimentary drinks which was appreciated.

Starter was v quick. Main course slow (took c 50 mins post starter being finished.) Few other issues, my steak not medium rare as requested, it was in parts medium and in others well done. Had to chase up chips and peas had mint on them when we had requested that they should not. A little disappointing all in all.

It was an enjoyable birthday celebration, especially with the kia royale. Starter disappointing as the sour-dough toast was cold and therefore very tough to cut and eat. MUST be fresh made.

Busy Saturday evening.,some tables are a bit too close together. Staff friendly and professional Food disappointing Husband ordered goats cheese salad.. one thin slice of goats cheese at £10 is poor value I had Breton chicken which was dry and like cardboard. They knocked the price of the sauce off as I mentioned this to the waitress Could be so much better

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, polite and attentive staff, and delicious food. I ordered from the Prestige menu and there was a good selection of choices for starters, mains and puddings.

Cote always go above and beyond to make the experience we have personal, a last minute large booking which can always be a struggle for a restaurant was no problem for Cote and the food and service was impeccable as always. Thank you so much for the cards and balloons. This restaurant will always be my go to for any special occasion. I also choose Cote regularly for a quick breakfast/lunch and again these experiences are always perfect and well worth the money. I can't praise them enough. The staff always seem calm and happy even at their busiest the management team remain respectful towards them and helpful to guests which is not always the case with many restaurants. This in turn creates the nicest atmosphere. Thank you again Cote!

Really lovely food. I think the 2 course and 3 course menu should be available at weekends too as that is the reason I went there.
