Good menu choices, good welcome, nice staff, excellent fresh mussels, well cooked vegetables, better cheese board than many high end places, plenty of choice on the wine list
This restaurant is fine in all respects except the practice of adding a tip automatically to the bill. I know that one can opt out or vary the amount but I would like to make that decision.
They serve a Lovely weekend breakfast which includes your food, juice and a hot drink. I would suggest providing a bit more toast with the meal which would of made it a 6 rating!
a lovely meal with efficient and polite service from waitress☺ Dont like the fact that they tell you what tip to leave , as it is added to bill .😒. would rather be left to my own choice on that one .. but it wont stop us going again.. well worth a visit .
Hello, we recently ate at your Cardiff Bay branch so that is what I will be rating our experience by because it was all excellent there. The customer service was excellent at Shrewsbury. Two of our party ate the same 3 course meal as at the Cardiff branch, the French onion soup was excellent, the main duck meal was to pick and was cold but still tasty, the poulet chicken main meal was a bit tough, not as succulent as it could have been, like when the chicken is cooked in advance and warmed up that sort of thing? Overall we had a good evening thank you.
As always an excellent meal. Lovely atmosphere plus had a voucher for a free bottle of wine which certainly went down well with our food.
Fantastic. Great food and service. We chose the prestige set menu and pre-ordered for Lunch. Food was prompt and delicious and great value for 3 courses.
Wasn't blown away by my meal, the duck parfait could have done with a chutney to accompany it, I personally enjoy my toasted brioche sliced thinner. My duck confit was well cooked, I think it would have benefited by having a fondant potato with it. The staff all seemed very friendly, the wrong drink arrived to begin with, however it was changed quickly. I dont really like it when a service charge is added to my bill, I find it slighly intrusive.
Bit slow on the service considering it was actually quite quiet, waited ages for them to take our dessert order / although very pleasant and attentive waiting staff when we were being served
Excellentl foods and really attentive service - especially for my wife who is gluten free. We come here frequently now. Nice lighting and buzz too,
Delicious food catering for a range of tastes. Fantastic service - the staff are really friendly and attentive. Although it was busy, it has a lovely atmosphere, and not noisy. Would definitely recommend and will be going again.
Highly recommend the staff very friendly and polite. Food and surroundings excellent, great for lunch or special occasion. However I would prefer to tip staff myself, rather than hidden in the bill.

We had a lovely meal for my daughters birthday, attentive but not intrusive staff. Plus a free ice cream with a candle as a surprise !
Food good on the whole but my meal had been left under a heater ,presumably while the other meals for my party were plated, so duck and potatoes dried out. Other meals OK. BUT WHY SUCH UNCOMFORTABLE SHINY SLIPPY SEATS? So uncomfortable did not bother with a pudding
Lovely atmosphere with perfect lighting. Booths are perfect for group of 4. Delicious food large menu choice. Good wine selection and great service. Very happy to please.
Delicious food, great ambiance. Waiter helpful; after quite a long initial wait, food was served speedily. We will be booking again and recommending to friends.
Lovely food and ambience, great service all round - second time we’ve been and both times have been excellent - just be aware of the “ optional gratuity” on the bill which does not need to be paid! Definitely worth a visit 👍🏻
Food good but service needs to be sharper. Given 12.5% is added although optional I was not asked how was service. I go to Cite quite a lot but service is getting worse.
Lovely food and staff - will definitely go back again 😊
Fabulous pre cinema lunch, great staff super professional and delicious food.... Mmmmh the crepes were divine. Lovely summer cocktail, started our girly lunch off perfectly. We will return
Restaurant was very busy when we arrived and we waited a good 20 mins before our waitress was able to take a drinks order. Once the orders were placed our food and drinks arrived in a reasonable time. Staff and food very good otherwise.
Great service and food . Lovely wine. Waiters really attentive . All 3 courses delicious . Value for money . Lovely atmosphere. Would go again
Wonderful, delicious food and the service is second to none. Myself and my husband have been here on many occasions for breakfast lunch and dinner and have never had a disappointing meal.
Another lovely meal. Sunday evening it was quieter than on our weekday visits, but that was nice. Service was a little slower than usual, still friendly and helpful.
Was visiting Shrewsbury with friends for the flower show and booked for an evening meal.We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant and although it was a very busy Friday evening the service was excellent and the staff very attentive but not overbearing. We were advised on our choice of food and recommended certain dishes. Our visit was very enjoyable and because of this I would definitely recommend Côte to friends and family.
As per usual it was very pleasant visit to cote in Shrewsbury, if I was knit picking the only slight fault was service was a tad slow. I know we were quite a large group of 9 and it was busy Sunday lunch time but 12-15 to 3 o'clock was a bit slow, other people around us were served way quicker, no complaints about the chap who did serve us he was very polite but he was obviously covering quite a few tables and he could tell we were quite happy having a family reunion chit chat.
A very pleasant restaurant. The food is excellent. Great menu choice and specials board. Drinks menu has plenty to offer. The only thing I would recommend is that the service is a little quicker. Atmosphere was lovely.
Food was pretty good, though the roast vegetables weren't really roasted sufficiently for my Puy Lentil dish, more crunchy than I expected. And the table water wasn't chilled as advertised on the stone bottle. But the staff were friendly and the service prompt (it wasn't a busy time). We shall come again.
Delicious minute steak little bit sinuey last visit so my friend and I decided to give it another try and glad we did staff always exceptional
Excellent service and nice atmosphere. It would be good if they changed the menu though as it has been the same for quite some time.
Excellent service as always with delicious food. Just what we needed after a rainy day spent at Shrewsbury Show. Loved the free Gin & Tonic.
Have visited Cote in Shrewsbury about 6-7 times for various occasions and have always found it to be of a high standard every time. The service is always very friendly and professional, and the food is reliably good quality. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Greeted on arrival with a smile, given options on where to sit, service attentive ( not quite 100% ). Food good. Bill cleared promptly. On our departure the staff said goodbye with a smile too.
The restaurant was humming when we arrived. Service, as usual, was friendly and efficient. Mostly, the food was superb; just the various cooking requirements for the steaks had been confused, so two people had steaks rarer than requested. We love eating at Cote. The menu is varied and the food well-priced and the atmosphere lively; the drinks, however, bump the price up enormously, so one has to be careful, especially with glasses of wine. The two and three-course menu, with a set price, was great.
Very pleasant time in the restaurant and the staff made us feel very welcome. The food was cooked to a high standard. Personally I would prefer less salt as less would have brought out the flavour just as well. The House wine was good. Will look forward to returning.
Great food and excellent service with a nice friendly atmosphere, the menu was varied with a good selection to suit all tastes. The staff were great, friendly and helpful
Quick effecient and very friendly service. Lovely table. Excellent food and reasonably priced. Already booked again for 16th August. A particular mention to the manager who really makes you feel special and valued.
Great for breakfast. Good service. Quality food. Environment is well-spaced tables and attention to detail is there. Reasonably priced abd overall, good for both personal and business.
Second time visiting this restaurant and we will certainly be going back again. Food was absolutely delicious (again) and you couldn't fault the service. Very friendly and attentive staff.
Last two times here food not as good as it used to be the calamari was not good stringy and over cooked The pork belly was not bad but the cracklin was not at all crispy The cream caramel was the best So not so happy with cotes shame maybe time to try another restaurant
Always good tasty, well cooked food with great friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere. I’ve never had any issues with this restaurant, it’s always very good.

Very pleasant staff and lovely food. The value for money is especially good. Didn't feel rushed and we were offered our complimentary gin and tonic immediately upon being seating.
Great service, the food was good, and a very pleasant setting. If you are looking for an evening meal out, without any fuss, try Cote.
Excellent food, excellent drink, excellent staff. Lesley must be one of your best managers and she has brought together a wonderful team front of house and in the kitchen.
As usual an enjoyable lunch starting with a delicious Kir Royale and a Breton Cider marred only by a slightly disappointing set lunch of cold roast tomato soup and a couscous salad with grilled vegetables. The soup was bland and the vegetables with the couscous were barely cooked. However service was as always exceptional.
Excellent food and service. The mishroom pancakes are to die for... Quite a compliment from a native speaker! The service is spont on and quick. The staff is very friendly. I will come again.
Great food at good price. Used a token for free bottle of wine so was more than happy. Very good service and delicious food. Shall definitely return
A very friendly place with a wonderful server who was very helpful. The food was excellent too! Carole was able to amend her order to make the dish suitable for her diet.
Lovely visit. I ordered the calamari and ribeye steak from the prestige menu whilst my partner had the fillet steak. Everything as you would expect from a cote.
Lovely food and staff but please stop putting the sneaky 12.5% on the bill and have that highlighted in bold. I’m not adverse to leaving a tip if it is deserved but that kind of behaviour wipes any gesture I may have made.
