I’m afraid it was a total disappointment, I had booked a table for a special birthday treat and the food was cold, overpriced and poor quality. I had the duck, the plate was cold so the food was cold, there was literally a spoon full on dauphinoise potatoes on the plate, not really enough for a main meal. My husband had the rib-eye steak, again, it was cold, the steak was very small and mostly gristle, again for almost £18.00 the amount of food on the plate was quite shocking! Although the food was poor, I have to say the staff were excellent and are a credit to the Shrewsbury restaurant.

The food was fine thank you. Our waitress was fine also - but not particularly friendly, we didn’t feel special I guess. My dessert took so long to come that we were just about to give up on it, pay the bill and leave. It was cremè brûlée which had a soft, not crunchy caramelised top - a bit of a disappointment I’m afraid. In fairness that was removed from the bill as was a tomato salad and the wait for dessert was spotted by the team so thank you for that. Overall.... ok.

Service a bit hit and miss but food great! Staff did their best to make amends and were very apologetic.

Lovely meal our party of 6 really enjoyed every course ..staff were brilliant and so polite and helpful .. a nice cool restaurant on a very hot day was a pleasure just to be in there .. food was very good . Would highly recommend visiting if your looking for a nice place to go for a meal

Enjoyable experience, very attentive and co-operative staff. A fair main of sea bream off the lunch saver menu. The potatoes were somewhat undercooked but edible. The dessert of iced berries and white chocolate made up for it though

The staff were excellent and acknowledged my husband's 70th birthday.

The food was lovely and the waiter was very attentive, we couldn’t really fault anything until we got the bill. Upon checking it I saw that there was an optional gratuity of 12.5% already added on to the total. We thought this to be absolutely diabolical! Everyone should choose how much tip they pay, if any, and to add it to the bill is wrong. How many people don’t even realise that it is on the bill and then leave another tip on top of the one that’s already on! Sorry cote brasserie but you are out of order. We shall not be using one of your restaurants again.

Absolutely splendid experience, the food the staff and the decor, a big thank you to the manager, who helped make my night special for my girlfriend by bringing out a photo album I had given them the day before. Highly recommend.

Mousse de Canard arrived with exceedingly limp lamb's lettuce that looked as though it had been under a heat lamp. Breton Chicken - rather dry and little if any garlic butter. Quite honestly the most disappointing experience of all our visits to Cote Shrewsbury and we've been many times. Initial service was very good but it took 10 minutes to get the bill, having to ask again for it.

We all enjoyed good food and service considering how busy it was.

We just had main courses and both were delicious, the salad nicoise was lovely and tuna pink and succulent perhaps the only criticism would be the use of raw peppers in it. The roasted sea bass with braised fennel was really spot on. Well done Cote we will be back again soon

Not up to your usual very high standard. My mussels starter was strange and may have been responsible fo my being violently sick a few hours later. My chicken was over cooked and I only ate half of it. The creme caramel was up to its usual high standard. The service was slow, we arrived at 1.30 and left at 4.15 but we were with friends so it wasn’t a problem. I didn’t complain at the time because we we were with friends and it does spoil the event.

This was our first visit to the Shrewsbury Cote. It came up to the usual standard that we expect from our visits to their other restaurants. The service was very efficient and pleasant and the food was excellent.

As a regular attender I can confirm that standards of food and service are very high. Staff give the impression that they are proud to belong to a quality organisation.
