Food was wonderful, two of us shared the Cote Boufe (med-rare) which was perfect and two had the belly pork. Service was great. When full ...it is a very noisy restaurant (all hard surfaces and no space dividing partitions)

Had a lovely evening at Cotes, my husband and I both ordered the Christmas Menu, very good selection and good value. The waiter was very attentive and helped us decide on a very nice wine. Will certainly visit again

First visit to this branch of Cote, extremely warm welcome from the maitre'd who couldn't have been more friendly or accommodating without being overbearing. Lovely varied menu and none of my party were dissapointed with their choices, every plate was delicious. Decor, ambience and staff all delightful, we will certainly be coming back to try more of the dishes.

Very rushed service - mains arrived before we had finished starters. Got the feeling they wanted to reuse our table. Pleasant staff and lovely food though. Don't agree with automatic 12.5% service charge - beware! I want to reward service myself not have it imposed.

Greeting was excellent. Attentive and very welcoming. Seated and made comfortable. Seen by various staff, so we were welcomed by many. Shown various menus and asked if we would like a drink. Our main waiter, was excellent. Enthusiastic & attentive, but not intrusive, or over familiar. Helped with menu choice and wine choice. Super chap with a very genuine personality. Just how we like our waiter to be. Starters were excellent. We’d like to see small amounts of bread on the table as a gesture for starters. Rather than decide it was needed, once the starter had arrived. Main courses were executed to perfection. Pork belly and Fillet steak cooked to perfection as requested. Thank you chefs. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their mains. Desserts were good, the orange crepe was delicious, I think presentation could be a little more creative though, so that the ice cream does not completely melt into cream and is a bit more 3D! All in all excellence. Thank you chefs, and in particular to our waiter who made the evening. Obviously someone steering the ship well. For those reasons we were happy to pay the automatically added service charge. However, I would like to hear this mentioned by whoever brings the menus and state that if you are unhappy with it then please feel free to say so. It can be a deal breaker for some. I always happy if it has been earned and worked for. Tonight most definitely.

Lovely atmosphere; friendly efficient staff and a great menu. The food is beautifully cooked and artistically presented. The restaurant is very fortunate in its location on the square in Shrewsbury and now, as we near the festive season, it is especially attractive, looking out on the Christmas lights. Prices are towards the higher end of the market, but it is a certainty for that special occasion.

Very warm reception on arrival, excellent attentive service throughout our visit, ending with salutations and courtesy on our departure. The food was good, well presented and tasty. Excellent value for money. This was our first visit to Cote's Shrewsbury having recently moved to Shropshire from Gloucestershire where we often visited Cote's Cirencester.

Overpriced. Portion controlled. Heated up mass produced awful food. Will never go again.. but they had ‘complimentary’ filtered tap water. Charged 12.5% optional gratuity (refused to pay). Shrewsbury has a choice. don’t choose Cote Brasserie..

Nice welcoming atmosphere; good menu choice though no pasta dishes; everything very tasty; an enjoyable evening with friends. Seating a little cramped, with little room to place more bulky belongings - and coat stand was fully draped. Acoustics when restaurant is busy make conversation between more than two people difficult.

What a delight to find Cote Brasserie, warmly welcomed on a very rainy day, helped off with coats and found a nice quiet table. Excellent choices on menu made a welcome change from our usual lunchstop near by. Some may be put off by service charge but we considered the whole experience well worth the price. Will certainly be going there again.

Another excellent evening at Cote Brasserie in Shrewsbury. We sat next to a couple from Lancashire who had not heard of Cote but who also thought it excellent value for money and will be looking for a branch near them.

We had dinner as a party of eight on a cold Sunday evening in November. The restaurant was busy enough to feel lively and the staff were warm and welcoming. There were a lot of option (table d'hote, specials, a la carte) but the staff gave us plenty of time to choose. All of us enjoyed our meals and thought the food and service were generally of very high quality. We all thought it was very good value so will definitely be returning.

Very good if I have any complaint it would be that we were served too quickly making the evening feel rushed. Waiter did apologise once he+realised that we were not happy to be given main course practically at the same time as the starters were removed! Food was lovely though.

Food was excellent but the service was extremely slow, we ordered drinks which never arrived. Took a very long time after we finished our courses for them to clear away our plates. We sat with our empty main course plates for about 15 minutes.

We were disappointed for the first time as the service was up to the usual high standard but the meal was not good. The Pork Confit was dry and had to be replaced, the Pear and Endive starter although tasting good was not well made and finally the Breton Chicken Salad. My wife had this as a replacement for the Pork and it consisted of 90% green leaves and a walnut shell which could have been serious had my wife not noticed it in time. My Breton Salad was only notable for its size not quality. The manager was as helpful as she could be under the circumstances and did not charge for the meal but we do not have the opportunity to have lunch in town very often and have chosen Cote as our favourite hence the disappointment. Time to return to the care and attention we experienced during our previous visits or you will end up like some of the other sad restaurants which abound in Shrewsbury.

The Cotes at Shrewsbury never fails to delight; and this is true of the other branches of this group that I have been to. From the moment you approach the restaurant you are greeted by a cheerful welcome who treats you as if you are the most important guest of the evening! This approach is shown by all the other waiters. The food? Terrific, chosen, cooked and arranged. The lunchtime and early evening (not Sat/Sun) prices are remarkable. The whole experience is a joy.

We waited 15 mins for our drink order to be taken - very empty restaurant - many staff wandering around - vegetarian dishes ordered although not written down - ham salad delivered to table instead of Goats cheese ratatouille !! Won’t be going back as too many other better restaurants in Shrewsbury.

We have been to Cote Brasseries in London and Manchester and much enjoyed the experience. This was our first visit to the recently opened Shrewsbury branch. We were not disappointed: the set lunch menu was excellent value for money, the setting and brasserie layout afforded a good view of the Square and the staff were attentive, cheerful and knowledgeable about all aspects of the menu. This brasserie is well worth a visit if you want an outstanding 'no frills' lunch and I am sure the evening menu, albeit more expensive, will be an equally enjoyable experience.
