Côte Shrewsbury

I always find going to Cote a welcoming experience, having now been ten or twelve times and still can find not complaint. The food is good, the crème caramel the best. The staff seem very happy to make sure all diners are very happy. The managers (who should always greet) are again very good and unusually sincere. At the moment one of the beat dining experiences in Shrewsbury. Thank you

Service and quality of food excellent and is consistently excellent, whichever Côte we go to.

We have eaten twice before at Cote in Shrewsbury and have been very pleased with the food. On this occasion we booked a table for 5.15pm and the experience was very different. The Hors D'Oeuvres arrived with the starters and the mains arrived whilst still eating the starters! All too rushed, the restaurant was very quiet so there was no need for this. We signed up to the newsletter, so had a lovely free bottle of wine.

We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at Cote. I’m afraid my ribeye was over cooked but this was immediately rectified by the staff. I have to say that the service is impeccable. Everyone is friendly and professional.

Great starter (french onion soup) delicious, i have to have it for my starter. Main course great, good atmosphere and friendly service.

We enjoyed our meal very much. We live in Sherborne in Dorset and our round trip today, to share lunch with. a friend at Cote, Shrewsbury, entailed driving 370 miles . The round trip journey, in part fortified by sea trout and peach crumble at Cote, took a total of nine and a half hours! The service was very good, and the food delicious, We plan to visit Cote in Dorchester as a result of our positive experience today. Mary Glasby.

We came for my grandmothers birthday and we were just so impressed by the effort the staff had made for her! the food was excellent and the service could not be faulted. I am personally a huge fan of cote but had never been to this one however i will most certainly be returning! Thank you to everyone at Cote Shrewsbury for making my grandmothers 85th so lovely.

First class experience. Food was excellent and perfectly cooked and our waitress was lovely ,helpful, friendly and made it a perfect evening.

Bad timings between appetizers, starters and mains. Appetizers arrived at the same time as our starters. Had to wait for 20mins for our mains after the waitress apologized she pressed the button for our mains but didn't go through in time to the kitchen. My main was the seabass. It arrived overcooked and dry. The fries were cold. Mains were clearly left on the pass for long. The waitress removed the seabass from the bill which was really kind and much appreciated.

Overall, we really enjoyed our meal here. The two set menus are great, and offer excellent value for money. I like the way these menus are changed each month too. Staff service was excellent. Food quality was great, as was the decor and ambience. My only issue was that I was served a cold gazpacho soup when I had ordered a hot tomato soup, but this mistake was quickly rectified by the team. I love this restaurant and will return.

Lunch with friend over two and a half hours - perfect!

Overall, we had a great experience here. I love the set menus, which provide excellent value for money and which are changed each month. Our food was great quality ( I was originally served the wrong soup to what I ordered, but this was soon rectified by staff). Service was excellent. Ambiance and decor is great. I love this restaurant and will return.

Excellent service - we mentioned it was our wedding anniversary before coming, and were welcomed with flowers, a card and complimentary wine. The service was superb and our meal was faultless.

I have wanted to try Cote in Shrewsbury for some time , so with a friend visiting I have not seen for a long time it seemed the right time to go . We had a lovely long relaxed lunch , great service , good food and did not feel rushed .

Overall a very pleasant Sunday lunch. Food and wine very good although an alternative to fennel with sea bass would have been a better option.

Our visit with friends last evening was to celebrate a birthday; our friends from out of town had never visited Cote Shrewsbury before but my wife and I have eaten with you many times. It's ALWAYS an enjoyable experience and one we really look forward to. My friends and I all have just one adverse comment and it applies to a number of the staff members. Having delivered the meal in such a gracious manner, which I strongly applaud, all staff members said 'Enjoy'. It really really grates. It's a cheap comment, almost an instruction, that has no place in such a quality restaurant and is more appropriate in a greasy spoon café. A much more appropriate comment would be 'Bon Appetit', French for Enjoy your meal. Please have a word, it's the only criticism of what is the best restaurant in Shrewsbury and one I will continue to use hopefully for many years to come. Well done everyone.

I have been to many cote restaurants and they are always very good. Great food lots to choose from and staff are always very attentive. One of my favourite restaurants to visit. Cocktails would be nice.

Great breakfast choice and service was excellent. Food just right with good, if not great, coffee. I’ll go again soon as top notch breakfast options. Sat outside as sunny day and it was good but quiet as so early.

French menu beautifully prepared and good wines all served by friendly staff.

Two out of four of our party had the sirloin steak and it was very disappointing - tough and chewy. Nowhere near as good as previous visits

Overall very good the food tasted nice and the service was good.... but..... I felt that the seyead a little too good.... for instance our starters arrived literally 1 minute after our pre dinner drinks arrived..... as for the food generally good but couldn’t help but think that it was all pre prepared... is there actually a skilled head chef running things in the kitchen.....? I guess probably not but am prepared to be corrected.... if a head chef is present then I don’t think he / she is a particularly good head chef....... the cheese course was particularly poor except for the “blue” selection... not sure what hat it was but quite pleasant.... the other two choices were almost unpalatable.....but overall a pleasant evening but as we were scouting for a place for a large family gathering in the autumn/ winter..... not sure this will be the place...., it was good but not brilliant.....!! Also it was very loud and scouting for the potential family gather later this year where there will be several v old people with hating problems.... this is probably not the place for us for our gathering....!

Love the Cote menu. Great choice of lovely dishes. Food at Shrewsbury was very good but the environment is not very relaxing.
