Service was slow, was good food, just required better service

Food was very tasty and good value based on the early evening set menu.

Went for an early meal (19:00hrs) and were greeted nicely by the Maitre'd and show our table in the middle of the back room. Food and service very good but as the room filled up the noise level grew which spoilt the end of our meal. Being in the center of the room with two large parties -12 plus people - on either side of us; we were surrounded by noise which, although mostly laughter was draining. Will be more selective in our choice of table in future.

Another lovely evening. As soon as we entered, the Front of House man was welcoming, the staff really attentive but not obtrusive, great attention to detail as our waiter refused to serve me my dessert as he deemed it not up to standard and quickly got me another, and great value for money. We'll be back.

Pleased with the service and food. However, the price advertised on the email for the two course set meal early evening was £9.95pp January offer. When we received the bill this was charged at £11.95pp. due to this I have reduced the rating of my overall experience.

The food was lovely, the usual high standard, the waiters and waitresses were good BUT the length of time we had to wait between courses was appalling. We arrived at 19.15 and left at 10.30 when there were few diners left. We had to wait over an hour between the starter and main course. The waitresses kept on coming over and apologising BUT that doesn't make up for the wait. No suggestion of money off or a discount next time to appease. Shoddy !

We had steak frites it was dreadful if you can’t get your food right then as restaurant you have a problem. Service slow with main course arriving in dribs and drabs. Who is managing this business.

A very enjoyable lunch with a friend delicious sea bass & fennel, my friend enjoyed the garlic calamari with a green salad. Cote is our chosen place for our meetings.

Disappointing compared to previous meals I have had here. Indifferent service. Incorrect bill presented.

Sadly a disappointing experience, we were being treated to a meal out by an Australian friend who wanted a French meal and Cote is normally our 'go-to' place but on this occasion we felt quite let down. We didn't make a fuss at the time as we didn't want to spoil the evening however the calamari when served for two of us was cold, the soup for one guest didn't arrive until after we had finished ours and even the olives ordered arrived at different stages. Service lacked attention and although the main course arrived together the fish dishes were dried out and had been clearly left on the side. Steak was ordered medium but came up medium rare.

Excellent service on an unexpectedly busy night. Modest delay with food but were kept informed and well worth the small wait.

I was given the wrong starter, but it looked really good so I got on with it. Food very good, but no sugar brought with espressos- which is why I didn’t give 5 stars. Value for money - excellent, wait staff pleasant, would certainly recommend and will go again.

Very disappointed with my meal. The Goats Cheese with Artichoke was skimpy and therefore uninteresting and my main course, the Chargrilled Poulet was awful! It was over cooked and dried up. Cote has been our go to Restaurant up until now but no longer I am afraid. £170 for two courses for four without wine is not good value especially if the food is unsatisfactory. I did not wish to complain at the time as I did not want to make a fuss in front of my guests, however, later they told me that they were not happy either. Did you have a problem in the kitchen? A lovely family meal for 10 this evening at Côte in Reigate Celebrating two January birthdays. The service was excellent and special thanks to management for honouring the ‘free bottle of wine’ offer we spotted after we had booked. Never had a bad meal at Côte.

Not up to the usual standards we’ve come to expect! Waited far too long for a cold starter and mains that were over cooked! Forgetful staff perhaps had heavy New Years Eve sessions! Overcharged and had to pay service charge that on this occasion don’t think was warranted!

Excellent food, service ok but don t know why, table was booked but we waited 10 mn at the door before being placed and 40 mn more before having the first drink. A bit too long and disapointed.Shame!

Location of table meant a continuous flow of bottles; baguettes; large pans right past us. Staff were talking frequently close to our table. So not very professional. Also we ordered the New Years Eve menu for two of us. We hadn’t finished eating the amuse bouche when the starter arrived on our table so we were suddenly surrounded by plates. So little co-ordination. Have eaten at Cote several time’s but this was our worst experience. I’m afraid for this reason we didn’t leave anything for the service.

Over all service was good. We have had better food before. New Year’s Eve was not as good as other times we’ve been there.

It was very busy so service a bit slow however the food was delicious.

Always a good meal whichever Cotes you go to.They have got it right from the staff to the ambiance and the food.Never have had a bad meal or cause for complaint.
