Côte Reading

This place is really going downhill, I used to love the food and good service. Last night our waitress was abrupt and rude, almost making us leave before we had even ordered. The food was ok. Calamari was nice. Raw garlic on the haddock and bacon dish is the only flavour I was left with and the aftertaste this morning is still very apparent. Duck was good but the rendered fat was very chewy! I hope this was a blip but unfortunately I do not feel I will be recommending cote as I have been previously. Disappointing.

Great food, warm, genuinely attentive, happy staff, always love it in the Reading Cote, even though I live in Oxford. Thank you again, lighting the candles on my daughter's baby shower cake made us laugh, we didn't quite know what to sing!

Our meal was fantastic. Food very tasty and of a high quality. Staff were very friendly attentive. Throughly enjoyed our meal and can’t wait to return. Only negative was it was very noisy but it can’t be helped.

The meal choices were all good and the pork tenderloin the best I have had in a Cote Restaurant. The service was fast and efficient and the staff were very pleasant, efficient and helpful.

Lovely waiter , very friendly! Food was excellent and service was great. Only issue was the chef put sauce on my food which I asked not to me on it as I have allergies but the waiter quickly sorted it out and apologised so all in all great experience !

Good service. When I booked in Godalming for another friends birthday we had complimentary Prosecco which was a nice touch. Nothing in Reading. My friends lamb was very fatty we complained and this was deducted from the bill. Plus some complementary drinks so all was good. Overall disappointed as we eat at Côte often

For the price, we had a very good lunch. It could have been better if the waitress was slightly happier, my guest requested some alterations to the menu and the waitress didn’t seem happy about this. Also my guest ordered a steak to be cooked medium, and it looked to be more well done. Starters were great and the mussel linguine was tasty. I will come back again.

Always excellent. First class food, first class service, what more could anyone ask for. We are a very eclectic group of 4 women, various ages, various interests, various likes and dislikes but one thing we DO agree on is that Côte is our restaurant of choice every time.

First time for breakfast , I had a full English my friend had the vegetarian which was great but the veggie sausage didn’t look very appetising. However I’ll definitely be back and so will my friend .

Food was good overall and the wine list was excellent. Service felt a bit rushed, but there was no pressure to leave, so overall a good evening even if at one time we had a table full of food, glasses and drink!

The meals for 4 of us were generally good and service was excellent. We tried the beef steak special shared between two of us and were a bit disappointed in that it’s taste was not good and the meat was a bit tough. We would not order this item again. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

We did have an early evening visit, so the restaurant was quiet, hence the atmosphere being slightly lower, but this made for the noise levels being good! The food was amazing, complements to the chef
