Côte Reading

I visited Cote in London quite regularly and the Cote in Reading did not disappoint. It goes get busy during lunch times but the quality of food and general atmosphere of the restaurant is great.

Delicious food,& generous portions! Great service and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.

We were a group of 14 and were well catered for.. Food and service both good. Staff very pleasant. Been several times now and it’s consistently good. Coeliac well catered for with the GF meal flagged.

Very poor,cold steak,over seasoned steak (to salty)and raw duck. Service was over stretched and a very poor service. Been a few times and normally amazing but tonight was very poor at best. Ruined my wife’s birthday........thanks

I am a regular and loyal cote customer and on average visit a branch at least once a week and my father also visits our local cote at least once a week. Normally we would give our overall experience 5 * however I feel like I need to bring to light my experience this evening. I booked a table for 3 of friends and myself and we visited the cote in Reading specifically for the February special of scallops. On arrival a pescatarian friend of mine asked whether the scallops could be served without bacon and talked about how excited we all were for this starter. The floor manager who I speak to often replied saying that it would be possible to serve the starter without bacon and that someone would be around to take our order. It took over half an hour for us to get a waiters attention and when we did we ordered scallops and were told that they had just placed the last orders to the table behind us. Firstly, this table had arrived after us, so should’ve been served after us and secondly, we had already mentioned to the manager that this is what we had come there for and it was never mentioned to us that there were limited scallops remaining and that we would need to place our order to guarantee this. As you can understand, this was extremely disappointing for multiple reasons, however the way this was handled was not great as there wasn’t an apology involved. We all ordered alternative starters and when 1 of my friends starters did not arrive we questioned the staff who said this was on its way. Once it arrived it did not look like the description, it was meant to be a goats cheese flat bread. But there was no goats cheese on the flat bread, due to how long we had already waited and how hungry we all were my disappointed friend ate this anyway. When we questioned the staff they told us we were served what we were ordered which was not correct. It then took nearly an hour for our main to arrive which I believe to be extremely long. We were then charged for an extra glass of wine on our bill which was corrected when questioned and whilst settling up my friend found lots of unappealing large lumps of what we can only believe to be dishwasher powder or limescale which was very unpleasant. Overall, I am very disappointed in my service and experience this evening. Please permanently put the scallops on your menu to avoid this disappointment again as they were delicious from the previous time I had eaten them and I can guarantee these would be extremely popular!

We have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner at Cote, Reading for a number of years. We have never had a bad meal there. Food, service and staff all excellent. Value for money, atmosphere all very good. Justina in particular is always very welcoming and efficient. Have recommended this restaurant to several people. Long may it continue.

Had a lovely time celebrating our anniversary! The staff were so sweet in giving us complimentary drinks to celebrate! The food was just amazing too - especially the sea bream!

Food is always food at Côte, but today was exceptional. Best Egg Florentine ever, and fabulous Sea Bream and great service. Only downside was that the table was the second one down fro the door, and rather chilly.

Gem of a restaurant in Reading, brilliant staff, great atmosphere, lovely food, and probably our favourite place for a nice dinner out. Been going there since it opened and they never disappoint!

A mouthwateringly tasty meal, very good service, a pleasant well-priced wine, and a superb value set lunch menu. Would recommend the sea bream and creme caramel. Might have been six stars but for the somewhat loud and intrusive canned music.

Lovely meal to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The Grand Marnier crepes just finished the meal of in style.

Very pleasant experience but when customers started to leave staff were more interested in clearing rather than serving those of us who were left. We had to leave our table to ask for coffee menus.
