Côte Reading

Really nice experience. Food was good and varied menu choice. Staff very friendly and helpful. There was a blip as one of the March specials is iamb rump and there is also a lamb rump dish on the standard a la carte menu. The order was taken down and input correctly however the kitchen mistakenly served up the wrong dish. It 'twas handled very professionally by the front of house team. Meal,replaced quickly and deducted from our bill.

A solid performance by the Cote Team. Attentive service and more than satisfactory food quality. The overall experience is good, not exceptional....as befitting a middle market restaurant.

Staff very attentive from the time we arrived too when we left, starter of calamari was great and the main was fantastic and great quality. Kia Royal on arrival and lovely rose wine, will be back.

Often go to Cote great menu choice and good value. Unfortunately on this occasion my husbands steak was really poor quality and over cooked and we had to send it back 😟

Always a great meal at Cote, it’s my fourth different place and they’re always great thank you! I’d prefer to do my own tip and not automatically be charged 12.5%. I know it’s ‘optional’ but when you’re in company who wants to make a scene!

Cote Reading is, in my experience, consistently good and today was no exception. Food is good value, staff very good and overall it's a great place to go. But I have to say not all Cotes are as good as the Reading restaurant.

Very friendly and responsive service. The food tasted very good (we both had fish dishes). When reservation was made and I wanted confirmation I received a prompt response.

Lovely food, brilliant service, great ambiance. Restaurant is really nice with staff that enjoy looking after you. Breakfasts are so enjoyable this was our third trip. Will definitely come again.

Attentive to allergies, great choice for gluten free and fantastic food. Perhaps a little noisy although it was a lunch with many families in. Only improvement would be to have all whites on the menu chilled and available.

We enjoyed our meal very much. I had the Breton fish stew which was fabulous so much seafood in it. Another in our party ha rib-eye rare and it was perfect another had the Salmon and another chicken all declared good you keep up a good Standard Cote

My partner and I love going to cote since our first date. We recently went for a birthday and the specials for the month were amazing (particularly the swordfish and white chocolate creme brulee). Definitely recommend for those who want a pleasant meal out with someone special

We enjoyed a lovely evening at the Cote Reading. We indulged in three courses all of which were very enjoyable.The duck confit was the star although the dessert, the tarte fine aux pommes, was not far behind. The service was excellent.

The Reading restaurant is always a great place to meet people for a business lunch. The staff there are courteous, professional and friendly. Thank you again.

As good as usual! Our birthday Kir Royales arrived without having to ask for them and the rest of the meal was as expected of Cote.

Horrible breakfast! Everything very low quality and they say you’ll get ‘fresh orange juice’ but in fact you get one from the concentrate... I paid over £10 for breakfast that is worth £4 tops

Food was very good value, staff pleasant, but service a bit slow as not so many staff as usual. Restaurant was a bit cold and drafty.

Always love coming and the food didn’t disappoint. Very good value for money, especially for the quality of food. One of the best restaurant chains I’ve been to. However our waitress was a little cold and not very friendly, this wasn’t helped by her lack of English. Also there were a few flies buzzing around.

We are regulars in several branches, originally because of the excellent range of choice of gluten free food for my wife who is coeliac, but also now because of the choice and excellence of the food and service.

Had a lovely meal. The staff were friendly, but the place was extremely business and service was quite slow. Maybe they were just a bit short on staff. Food excellent. Lovely atmosphere. Would come again maybe for lunch.

We had a lovely pre Mother's Day evening meal here on Saturday. We were very happy with the customer service and table service received and look forward to coming here again as this is a yearly tradition. Lovely waiter waited our table most of the evening and had a great sense of humour. The food was exceptional too.

We arrived at 7.15 for our 7.30 booking and were told they had given our window table away which I had requested months ago. They were really apologetic and gave us a complimentary drink which was nice but I do not understand why they had given our table away in the first place. Food was nice and was very quick service, they did forgot our table water though.

We chose Cote for a Company Lunch as they usually are fast and efficient, plus, its the only Chain Restaurant I set foot in. The Service was efficient in taking our Order, but that is sadly where it stopped. We where 12 people, we waited 20 Minutes for starters (we ordered from the lunch menu so I expect a bit swifter Service) and the starters where fine. no water refills, we had to mention to the waiter twice that we like some more water, despite having other drinks and wine on the table. Any how, after 30 Minutes of waiting the mains arrived, only to find out that one Main was forgotten to order, and one steak was so overcooked you could not even cut it! Great, so one person received their food right at the end when everyone was finished, and the other person received their food half way through. By that time we where all ready nearly 2 hours in the restaurant, and there was 2 members who waited for dessert to the point that we actually told not to bother and we paid. This for some reason was very swift and payment was taken quickly. I have to point out that the over cooked steak and the forgotten Dish where taken off the Bill. Thank you! When we got up, one of my Team member points out that he had ordered Dessert! i could not believe it, they actually forgot that to. Anyhow, all in all my food and some of my team members food was good, others not, but the Service was anything but great!

Poor experience today- booked as a mothers day treat and should have just cooked at home. Had to move tables due to be blasted with cold air. First waitress was rude. 3 of the main courses were cold. We had to keep getting up to get attention to order more drinks and the food was very average. One of the puddings on the mothers day special was not available and it was only 5pm surely if you are putting something on a specials menu on a busy day you make sure you plan the numbers effectively? Generally poor service and totally average food. Very disappointed it's usually a favourite of ours. You may have taken some money of the bill but there certainly wasn't much of an apology.

Myself and two friends came here for lunch today. We always meet up at cote because we live the quality of the food and the atmosphere, both of which were great today. However, today the service was extremely slow, after waiting for 35 mins for our food order to be taken, my friend finally went up to the bar to ask if someone could take our order. This was only after we had observed other customers who had arrived after us having their orders taken. When ordering the puddings, the menus were brought promptly but again we had to ask a member of staff to take order. This is not the level of service we have come to expect over the years we have been coming, so we were a little disappointed today, however we will return and give cote another chance to prove themselves.
