Côte Reading

Service was very good. We generally enjoyed the food. Eye-rib steak was rather tough with strings but it was promptly replaced and the replacement was perfect. The atmosphere was very good but it was a bit too stuffy. However, the main thing was that we enjoyed our night out.

Our meal was excellent as ever. The servicewas great, the food lovely and the price good. This is a restaurant I would recommend. We will be back.

We went to Cote in the early evening to celebrate my wife's birthday having pre booked. We also had two grandchildren with us. Staff were pleasant and attentive and the food was delivered promptly and of good quality. My wife was offered a Kir Royale on the house which was much appreciated. However, on similar occasions in the past I would also have been offered a complementary drink but none was forthcoming this time. My daughter, without our knowledge, had delivered a birthday cake earlier in the day to be brought out at an appropriate time in the evening but this never appeared as the staff had forgotten. We only found out about our missed treat when we got home. Cote did deliver the cake to our house the following morning together with a bottle of sparkling wine. With the seemingly less generous new policy on complementary drinks and the mess up on the cake, it has taken the edge off our experience. We have used Cote fairly regularly but our experience this time has prompted us to try elsewhere in future.

We eat there regularly. Excellent service and food as always. The best value for money restaurant in Reading in my opinion. We'll be back soon.

Very efficient and attentive service. Delicious food. Lovely setting and wonderfully cool on a hot and humid morning. Could not be better. Would recommend for a delightful Sunday brunch.

The staff and food at Cote Brasserie are consistently amazing. I would have no hesitation in highly recommending the Reading branch. Even though they are part of a chain, because of the staff retention and warm welcome they feel like an independant.

You can always rely on a Cote - the service and the food are always good across them all and Reading was no different. Very pleasant. I find it difficult to find somewhere that can cook a fillet steak properly and they always do.

This was our first visit and we were welcomed by friendly staff who were efficient, attentive and unobtrusive. The restaurant atmosphere was relaxed. The ambience was good and the food excellent. Food was well cooked and well presented. Service was well timed so no long gaps between courses and no rushing to finish on time. We will definitely be going back.

Nice outside table with lovely food and friendly service. We always enjoy ourselves at this restaurant. There is also a competitively priced wine list. Complementary water is served in a cooling bottle.

Wasn’t impressed with the service today. Usually it’s excellent but it was very slow. Several items had to be asked for twice and asked 3 times for more water before it arrived

Good food as always, service was good and the location is easy to find with parking available in the oracle shopping centre. Will be back again I’m sure.

Always enjoy our visits to Cote. We had risotto from the a la carte menu and cod from the specials menu - both excellent. Friendly staff and prompt service.

I made a bad choice in choosing the steak which was stringy however the service was excellent in that they replaced the steak only to find it stringy as well. They then took desserts off our bill as well. This is what service should be !!!

I was pleased with the way the staff dealt with the fact that my husband is coeliac and took care of his food. We will certainly visit again.

Probably the most disappointing Cote meal I’ve ever had. Starters were decent but Summer special main was tasteless, undercooked veg and over cooked fish. Chocolate fondant desert which I had as a Cote “safe bet” having had it many times before was totally solid. Should have complained really. Usually go to Cote cos you know what you’re getting. Not at this one. Could have done much better myself at home.

Usually very good however was there for 3 hours. They forgot to send order to kitchen then it came back cold. Lots of things forgotten. Wasn’t a good experience. Manager brilliant and dealing with it however

There was so much choice that it took a while to decide. We were not disappointed. Great food. Outstanding service. It was however very loud when we arrived. In overall, very good experience.

Brilliant and made bettrt by beong served by Benni wjo is a eonderful waiter and character. Food great on their predtige menu with the mussels to die for.

Great staff and lovely food. We always use Cote Reading for family get togethers. It's lovely to have proper cloth napkins and we are always made to feel special by the Cote staff.

Not up to usual standard at all. Not sure if there has been a cut back in staffing levels? Was very disappointed when main course arrived and we had not even finished our starters. Would usually rate as a 5 or 6, but definitely not for yesterday.

my favourite place to eat where ever I am. problem that there are not many rewards for loyalty. Quando is very confusing when it comes to finding out where you are on the loyalty points system.

We love this place! Its pudding is our favourite. Pork rib is great as well.

As always excellent service, delicious food and a great atmosphere. I am never disappointed by Cote Reading. The food is so tasty whether it’s for breakfast, lunch or dinner and great value for money. The new monthly Prestige menu is a great deal. So many things on the menu are great including the Ribeye steaks, Fish and seafood dishes, salads and hot breakfasts!

Our first visit to Reading and we enjoyed a lovely meal at this Cote. There were tables outside and several people were enjoying the sunshine. We dined in. My Steak was cooked Medium and was perfect. My wife went for Chicken which was plentiful and good. All washed down with some tasty wine. Another great meal from Cote.

Excellent service, good quality consistent food. The warm sourdough bread & silky butter are sublime. The lamb rump was beautifully cooked & extremely tender - a little more jus needed. The fish dishes are always well cooked & very tasty. My favourite local restaurant.

Very pleasant restaurant. We were given a choice of table and straight away brought water and menus. The staff were friendly and helpful but not obtrusive. Would definitely go there again.
