A lovely restaurant for a mid week lunch with a friend! Starting with Kir Royale followed by the lunch menu with some excellent options - I would recommend the Sea Bream with a side order of french beans and the dark chocolate pot to follow with a cappuccino was the perfect finale.

From the first time in oxford circus and until the second time in reading the flavours from my tongue,my mind and my souls hasn't left. I love the food here to the absolute best of it. simply terrifically amazing.

It was the busiest we have seen it ! The staff were all working flat out , but compared to a normal evening the service was considerably slower......understandably due to the vast turnover. Enjoyable evening as always

I've never had a single bad experience here and eat at the restaurant regularly. We ate here with a large group (15 of us in total) and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Everything came out together and the pre-ordered choices were accurate. The staff looked after us well. I will be back again very soon!

After the disappointment of the seabass being unavailable today (because my daughter doesn't eat meat), she thoroughly enjoyed the risotto instead. My starter of crab mayonnaise was delicious as was the pork belly for my main course - a special mention for the gratin potatoes which were a triumph. My daughter's dessert - a mixture of Coupe Noire and frozen berries - went down a treat. Wine was good, likewise the coffee and fresh mint tea. All staff were extremely pleasant and gave us wonderful service. All in all, a delightful Sunday lunch!

We both had a lovely time at the Cote Restaurant in Reading on 20th July. All the staff were friendly as always and gave us a great relaxed experience.

Very expensive the food was very mediocre creme brûlée was burnt 🥵 had to go back to the kitchen for another one wouldn’t go back I’m afraid

Extremely noisy environment . We were able to move to a slightly less noisy table but this is just a poor feature of this restaurant. Food just ok - lobster a bit over-cooked and definitely not good value for money. Extra avocado was brought when I said I couldn't find any in my chicken salad - a good response but the kitchen should be getting this right in the first place. We were asked three times, by three different members of staff if we wanted to order dessert - we'd told the first waiter that we wished to wait before ordering. The restaurant wasn't so busy that the demand for our table justified this over-zealousness in getting us to complete our meal in a hurry. Our complimentary drinks were charged until we challenged the bill. So really not great!

I had a fantastic meal on Saturday night (2 x 7:30 - 6/7/19 - table right infront of the staff/bread station). Pleasant, friendly and efficient service - as usual. Cote Reading is now my go-to restaurant of choice, and cheaper than London st brasserie round the corner. I've had at least four great experiences over the last year - at lunch, breakfast and dinner and have never been disappointed. Only slight point I could mention is for a wine choice about a year ago - a Sancerre that I don't think was of the same quality as previously on the list - if it was changed sometime in the last year or two. Or maybe just a bad bottle/batch/corked. We had a great alternative instead and hasn't stopped me coming back! Special mention definitely goes to the lovely Maitre'd (Nepalese chap, sorry - I'm afraid I can't remember his name), our waiter (who has served me twice recently - very well both times), and the other Manager/Maitre'd (lady - who I came in and booked the table with in the afternoon). All made us feel very welcome and made the evening more enjoyable. Thank you! :)

Food was good and free gin & tonic what more would you want

Great service. Staff very helpful. We are regular clients of Cotes and felt that the menu should vary more with the season. For example, French onion soup is not a summer dish!

The perfect way to enjoy a warm summers evening having a very nice Gin and Tonic and an excellent meal washed down with a fine bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, we always enjoy ourselves at Cote

Been to Cotes many times and fairly regularly order a medium Rib-eye. It is always underdone with blood running around the plate. Same at Covent Garden x2, Woking and Reading last night, very disappointing

As someone who has to go gluten-free for health reasons, I was so incredibly pleased to see the extensive gluten-free menu. The chicken was absolutely delicious! Great service too.

As always the staff were very friendly and although my friend's steak was overcooked they took it back and replaced it and gave us some money off the bill. Throughout they were charming. Thanks Cote

Once again we had a wonderful lunch and time at Côte. The food, as always, was delicious. My husband and I had the rump of lamb, my daughter the Fish Parmentier. We'd started with prawns, melon and ham and the pâté respectively. Every mouthful was savoured. Only my husband had room for dessert and he enjoyed the creme caramel. The service was impeccable and, as always, friendly and pleasant. Côte remains our favourite restaurant in Reading - we have never been disappointed there.

Four of us eat here fairly regularly. We range in age from 50+ to 90+ and have very different food preferences. Côte never fails to impress. Excellent service, attentive but never intrusive. Excellent menu with loads of variety, awesome food, well presented , beautifully cooked and always tasty. It is our restaurant of choice and deservedly so.

This weekend I visited a cote resteraunt to celebrate my birthday and had a fantastic experience. The food was great quality for a reasonable price, and a crowd pleaser for all ages. We had a lovely private table as requested, but the highlight was the fantastic service we received. Nothing was too much trouble, very accommodating and friendly. A really lovely experience and I will most definitely be returning in the future.

The cocktail masterclass with Peter and Luke was amazing - they were excellent hosts and really made the class fun. The meal in the evening was lovely, however, the service charge fee was extortionate!
