Côte Oxford

Check your bill. We had an Oxford Playhouse voucher for a free bottle of wine, but it appeared on the first bill. No problem with amending it, but it shouldn't have happened. Staff friendly (even if rather zealous in repeatedly asking how everything was). No problem in securing our preferred table.

There is only one thing I do not enjoy which is the range of soft drinks. I do not drink alcohol and always have to drink water as you do not have the drink of my choice which is ginger ale. I tolerate this because both the food and service are excellent!

Good food. Nice busy atmosphere of contented diners. We were going to the theatre, service was quick and they didn't keep us waiting. Comfortable seating arrangements.

Service was , warm, professional - perfect. The Menu was varied - seven of us all found something we liked. Food was excellent. I Highly recommend this restaurant

A little slow coming to take order- I know it was busy but when you are waiting the staff should see you are ready when all the menus have been put down and you are talking. Good service other wise. Good night

Good food; asparagus perfectly cooked, a lovely piece of fish with just the right amount of accompaniments and the two chocolate puddings completed a very good meal. The service was excellent, friendly and competent.

We were both very pleased with today's lunch and will certainly come again. We had been before but that time wasn't as pleasing. We were glad we gave you another try!

Excellent service good food and value for money. Good location in george street, Oxford by bus station. Menu is varied we had steak frites which is always good.

I was meeting with two friends for a pre-theatre supper. We all thought the early supper was very nice and the service was good. We will come again!

The service was very slow - especially as we had a pre-theatre menu and needed to be out by 7.15pm to get to the theatre on time. We arrived at 5.50pm, didn't have time to have our usual dessert, and we noticed that other people at other tables, who came into the restaurant after us, got served with their food before us. This isn't like the Cote Brasserie service that we have usually experienced!

Absolutely outstanding food - I had the mussels followed by the pork belly and both were simply sensational. There were lots of other patrons so its obviously a well appreciated restaurant but what luck for a first time visitor to Oxford to eat there !!

I had booked in advance and we had a very nice booth which worked well for kind of meal we wanted. However the service for our dessert was slow and after 30 minutes I had to remind staff that we were still waiting. One of our party was in a tight time limit and had to take the cheese he had ordered with him whereas if it had been brought promptly he could have enjoyed it with the rest of us. There was also confusion over the post-meal drinks. We were brought an Earl Grey tea and cappuccino which we hadn't ordered. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, but not well organised.

The staff were very good. They needed to be as my friends veal needed to be sorted out 3 times before finally being very tasty and as it should be. Chicken was super and the creamed spinach.....very good!

Excellent as always! Great food and service, would thoroughly recommend to anyone. One of the best restaurants in Oxford. If your in town give it a try.

Always enjoy coming to Cote, and tonight was no exception - lovely staff, and served promptly but without being hurried (we had theatre tickets). Very highly recommended - thank you, as always!

The food was delicious, from olives to the mains of duck and pork belly (perfect crackling), to creme brûlée. We also had a complimentary Kir Royals which was appreciated! My friend is a celiac so in other restaurants she has to peruse the menu looking for suitable choices - Cote have a gluten free menu so she was able to pick anything she liked without having to read through items she can't have. Will be definitely back again.

A pleasant restaurant, even if the outlook isn't great onto the blank wall of the local cinema across the road. Service was efficient and friendly and the food of good quality and quickly served. I would prefer to decide the gratuity myself rather than have it added automatically to the bill. All in all a reasonably priced and pleasant meal that fitted the bill prior to a theatre trip.

This is still my favourite restaurant. The staff are very friendly and professional, the food is excellent and the prices are very good. I'll be back.

The service was excellent even though the place was very busy. The ambiance very friendly and welcoming and our waitress a live wire.. Food was good but the daupaniose potatoes were dry. My friends lamb rump was a bit chewy. Overall though an enjoyable evening

Lovely lunch today. The set menu is always very good and good value. Asparagus, pea and mint risotto and apple crumble with ice cream. Yummy!

As always, excellent service and delicious meal. This is why we keep returning. The bread was particularly good last night. The dressing on the green salads is memorable and I would love the recipe. A well balanced menu.

the food was very nice ... my mum really enjoyed her seabass it was cooked beautifully .. i felt the waIting staff were very stretched which caused them to be abrupt and lacking in customer service

Great place! Puts all the Oxfordshire gastropubs and restaurants that charge £24+ per plate in their place. Tiny faults (minuscule really) was that asparagus stems with lamb were woody and that prawn gratinée starter was too juicy (requiring bread) - no bad thing except croutons were soggy. Love the place creme caramel should be made illegal as it is too addictive.

Great value set menu made with quality ingredients. Staff attentive, well trained staff and our Oxford restaurant has a great atmosphere. Thoroughly recommended for a quick bite before a show or a special evening out.

First class as ever for food and genuine service. Quality of food is always a step above most chains for no increase in price. Great.

We quite often go to Cote for breakfast in Cirencester, but on this occasion happened to be in Oxford. The food was delicious as usual and the service was up to scratch. Not as busy as Cirencester so the atmosphere wasn't as good, but enjoyable none the less.

Great food as ever and staff were ok. Restuarant is small and tables are very close together. Not good if you are wanting an intimate evening.

Great greeting, Slab of pate, 2 thick toast slabs plonked on plate. Fish delicious, tasteless mashed potato. Same dish other Cotes delicious. Such a pity!

Very good food and service. The sausage in charcuterie board was a little chewy but otherwise no complaints with the quality of the food whatsoever.

Our waitress when asked to split the bill 50/50 point blank refused to do this. Said she had been up since 7am and couldnt work it out. Told us to use a calculator to work it out ourselves. Very poor.

Food was nice service was dreadful waiting almost an hour for main course after starter and a long time before they cleared plates from table before requesting dessert and generally not very attentive

Lovely food, although my chicken main was rather dry. Our main waitress was friendly but one of the others who served us was less so. Well worth a visit though and perhaps it was a bit of an off day as our previous evening visit as a larger group was much better.

Very Good value, well cooked, efficient service. Very popular for lunch. Tables could be a bit further apart but otherwise a good place to eat with friendly atmosphere

We always enjoy the Cote Restaurant and have been to many Branches in London and Oxford. We find the experience easy with children as well, as the menu is very sensible and the service prompt and pleasant and child friendly.

Booked online. Third visit. Each time got a poor table position too left, too hot, cramped and close to toilet access. Excellent food with great staff.

food was excellent. 12.5% service charge automatically added to the bill was cheeky - we changed it to 10%; should really have paid 5% because service not particularly good - place setting was missing. waiter brought knife and fork when asked, then napkin when asked, then salt and pepper when asked

Always good food, although portion size a little small. Service is always good. They even let us change our table due to it being a little crowded.

As always, Cote is a welcoming brasserie and one of the best places to eat in Oxford. The menu has something for everyone and well prepared. Only slight issues were the toilet seat was broken in the gents and access to the stairs to the toilets is made difficult by the positioning of a table for four at the head of the stairs. Minor points in a really good venue.

Fabulous food, service and ambience - never had a bad meal at Cote - always superb! Portion sizes just right - love this place! :)

Warm welcome, good service, excellent food. The fish pie was particuraly good, washed down with the complimentary bottle of house white. Also enjoyed the calamari.

My friends and I thought the staff at the Oxford Cote were excellent very friendly and efficient. The food was also very good and very tasty.

Everyone in the party was impressed by the food, which was tasty, well-presented and as described on the menu. A variety of preferences were well catered for, and the vegetarian menu was welcome. The food arrived in good time, which was important on this occasion. The only very slight reservation was that the person who answered the phone when I altered the numbers in the reservation was a bit gruff and some (not all) of the staff on the night a little bit dour: false bonhomie is not expected, but a smile or its oral vocal equivalent would have tipped the balance and given the review a 6.

The waiter, Vlad absolutely brilliant but food quality lower than Cote Birmingham or London around Oxford Street. As a suggestion, more portions from monthly special should be available at 7 pm. It's not so nice to run out of half of your special menu.

Food was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, and the service was good even though it was a very busy evening. Would go there again.
