Côte Oxford

Lovely food, just felt very rushed, no time between courses. Then waited a fair amount of time having been given the bill, to paying the bill.

The food was very good, and the staff professional and pleasant. It was a warm evening but the restaurant was pleasantly cool. And the music was low, which we appreciated.

It was excellent all round and I have nothing but positives to take away. The service was particularly good especially after we were briefly evacuated for a fire alarm.

A great way to start the evening with a pre theatre meal. Good choice on the menu and very attentive and helpful staff as usual

Booked a table on a Saturday, we had a lovely meal, excellent wine and very nice waiter. Will definitely go again when next in Oxford

The food was fine, the service was good but all was spoilt by the chilling down draft from the air con on to the food and us. The Frites were quickly cooled as a result. At least we were given a free second helping. The 12.5 per cent service charge was therefore inappropriate. Two members of staff briefly raised the temperature of the a/c , but it soon went back to it is normal chilling mode. Pity really how a small matter can spoil the experience.

Consistently delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Great value. The staff are so nice and professional and I really love this place. One slight negative- There is very loud waitress that literally bursts your eardrums when she speaks. She is very nice but could do with turning down the volume a little.

We oftern visit after theatre and so late, but quality dies not vary. Excellent summer menu particularly duck confit. Friendly and efficient service. Best of chain restaurants in Oxford.

Friendly & efficient staff, helpful regarding gluten free choices, and finding us a quiet table. Delicious menu, made it hard to choose, Good value for money. Look forward to visiting again.

As ever, good choice of food on menu and fairly priced, and attentive and well trained staff. Oxford Cote well placed for the theatre, station and shops.

We had a great meal, all the staff that served us were great - the food was fantastic - really good service and top quality food. A great evening.

Great food, great service, really lovely atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable staff, all very attentive, will definately be visiting again in the near future, highly reccomend.

Overall a good experience. The food was good and the drinks arrived 'just in time'. Although the staff were working hard, service was a little inattentive. They probably need more staff early evening.

Excellent food as usual. An interesting and varied menu, always beautifully presented and cooked. Set menu very good value. Staff cheerful and attentive have never been disappointed.

Excellent food, cheerful willing staff and sensible prices for the best lunch in Oxford. Three hungry boys enjoyed moules, steak frites and the seafood linguine before completing their meal with crumble aux peches and delicious ice cream. There is something for everyone on the menu, just delicious food cooked to order and not a pizza to be seen!

Lovely Breton meal. This is the second Cote restaurant that we have visited (the other was Chelmsford). Both times had really tasty, well cooked meal with excellent service. Just be aware that service charge is added automatically

The food was beautifully cooked and nicely presented. The waitstaff were attentive without being intrusive or fawning. The prices are very reasonable, especially if you choose the set menu.

Fabulous food and fabulous service as always. It is always a treat to eat out at Cote. We have been many times and have always had a lovely time.

The creme caramel is to die for! Excellent meal and the venue is pleasant and convenient for the centre. I would go again when next visiting Oxford.

We received a really friendly welcome and the restaurant had a nice buzz about it. The menu was extensive something for everyone. The two vegetarians in our group had lots of choice which is unusual. Great food and service. Would recommend.

Good offers, good service and good food at a reasonable price. The service was attentive and not overbearing, filtered water a nice touch. Overall the best of the chain restaurants , good to have French rather than the rather overdone Italian .

Good food at a very reasonable price - the weekday lunch and early evening menu is excellent value and changes monthly. We eat here about every six weeks and the service is always efficient and friendly.

The service was very good but unfortunately the food was fairly average. Overall a pleasant atmosphere and in a central location and very affordable early dinner set menu so will certainly return.

This must be my 40th visit to a Cote restaurant. Always good value, great choice of food and excellent tastes. I never get fed up with Cote.

The food was as good as ever. However we weren't so pleased with the service. We don't mind the waitress enquiring if we are enjoying our meal but we didn't appreciate having our conversation interrupted to be asked. Then she got the dessert order wrong. Thankfully we've never had this problem before and I doubt it will happen in the future. It has not put us off eating there.

As always excellent food and excellent service. Restaurant clean and always a very good atmosphere I didn't catch our waitresses name but she was very attentive and we found we had something in common with the Exeter Cotes.What a coincidence!

Have never been disappointed with the food. As well as tasting delicious it is always presented beautifully and great value too. Staff very friendly and attentive.

Very busy - too many large tables had been allowed to book by the web site, apparently - but food was still excellent and service friendly and competent.

With excellent service, enjoyable, value for money food and a good atmosphere the Oxford Cote hit the spot for our team lunch. We'll be back

As usual, the atmosphere was excellent and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had a fish pie, which was chock full of fish with lots of tasty cheese on top. My friend had the half breton chicken which looked great, and both dishes arrives reasonably quickly.

Great service, fantastic ribeye steak au poivre + good variety of light mains, meat and fish to satisfy everyone in a large party. Table for 7 was quite close to the kitchen though. Would definitely come again.

Great service and delicious food. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The restaurant was busy, but we weren't rushed. Excellent value for money.

Staff were lovely and very efficient. I had misunderstood the deal for the Spritzer (free only when you ordered from the A La Carte menu), the manager was very kind and permitted me and my friend to have a glass each. Very much appreciated. The food was delicious however, the base of my main meal - Spinach and Mushroom Crepes was burnt to the bottom of the dish and rather spoilt the meal. My friend had ordered mussels for her starter and was extremely disappointed to find that four of the mussels had not opened and were therefore inedible. It is acceptable to find an odd one unopened but certainly not four in one dish. The waitress was apologetic but did not offer any form of compensation. Despite this, it was an enjoyable experience.

Great service and reliably good food. Not very busy but Monday lunchtime and a very hot day Glad of air conditioning. Everyone enjoyed their food choices

If I were only rating my own experience I would have given full marks but two of our party had the chicken and walnut salad and felt it left a bit to be desired. Too little dressing and too few ingredients. Service is always excellent.

Service and food were fantastic! Really enjoyed ourselves! The staff were really friendly and attentive. They made sure we were well looked after. Bonus that they had a gluten free menu for a friend who is very allergic! She does pretty well with normal menus but they really catered for her! They even had gluten free bread!!

Great Great service and lovely food. The complimentary spritzer was refreshing and tasty. First time we have been and really enjoyed it. Will be returning.

Used to be good. Service disorganised and v poor. Two of our party sent back cold food which had waited too long at the pass.

Excellent lunch menu and really good service and ambieince. This is my favourite Oxford restaurant. The cuisine has a genuine French aura and the value for money is exceptional.

Very slow start to receiving any service. Sat for about 20 minutes before a server arrived with water and to take drinks order. After that it picked up. Good to usual good standard. Pleasant atmosphere and not too busy.

Staff was pleasant. Food was acceptable. Found a small gnat in my water bottle... A bit disturbing but not the worst thing that's ever happened. Need to get the check a bit more quickly.
