Fantastic food, fantastic service, fantastic atmosphere. The place is absolutely perfect for a date, and the prices are relatively reasonable considering the high quality of everything.

Arrived for meal at 6.15 4 of the mains were sold out! Following the meal, looking forward to the chocolate mousse which is a family favourite only to be told that this was also sold out! Then given a 12% service charge of £14!! Very disappointing evening and nowhere near their usual standard.

Ate here on 26th September in the early evening. By no means as good as other Cote restaurants we have visited, particularly our nearest in Cardiff Bay. The Oxford branch is clearly very well positioned for the New Theatre, but it is otherwise not in one of the smarter parts of the city. The restaurant seemed on the small side and quite dingy They had run out of salmon for the main course ("deliveries tomorrow"). The staff were clearly working very hard but seemed more under pressure than a customer would have liked for a relaxing meal

Always lovely service and food that is delicious and value for money. We always go on theatre nights. It gets our evening off to a good start!

Great service and really good food. Can’t fault this restaurant, 5th time here and gets better every time. I have a pepper allergy and they were really helpful. Top marks, thanks.

Food was lovely but the service was very slow which was stressful as we were going to the theatre. We had informed a waiter of this and were eating from the pre theatre menu. We had to fight to get out dessert and the bill and there was no apology.

Fantastic as usual with great service and atmosphere and as happened last time a bit of banter and conversation with nearby guests in the next table. We are regulars and often have a meal here prior to a visit to the New Theatre. With the S1 stopping outside Cote it’s almost a perfect set up. My wife likes the light bites menu or sometimes just has a starter. Alsways have a bottle of wine though.

Great food & wine. Very friendly and efficient staff who were very helpful to ensure we managed to squeeze in pudding and pay the bill before dashing across the road to the theatre! Will definitely be dining here again.

We always find the staff so pleasant and professional. The menu is varied and the prices good. As we were going to the theatre we had a limited time for lunch but our meals were served in good time so we did not have to rush.

I would recommend it to anybody. It’s really lovely. The set menu is excellent- my only comment is that although the starters and mains change regularly the desserts do not.

Rating would have been excellent but when order taken we found that the first three choices were no longer available. Both disappointing and rather surprising for a 6pm reservation. The limited choices we were left with would not, obviously, have been what we would have opted for from the full menu. Also, was not impressed by the 15% added service charge. The service was good and I would have left a tip, but I was with family and they did not want me to ‘make a fuss’ about the charge. Without them I would certainly have subtracted the service charge and just left a tip. Service is an integral part of a restaurant meal and service charge should be an integral part of the pricing. Will probably use Cote again, have been an occasional customer in various towns for many years, but it certainly won’t be top of my list because of the service charge.

The service was good and the food delicious. My minute steak was perfectly cooked. The only problem I have with this restaurant is how noisy it gets if you are with anyone hard of hearing!

Food was great and the service excellent! One drawback - it gets very noisy when the restaurant gets busy which makes conversation difficult. As a teetotaller would love it more if there were more choice of non alcoholic drinks.

Great welcome, great meal, great service, great price. What more can I say? We had lunch before going to the theatre and the staff made sure we wouldn't be late. Lovely restaurant.

Cote is always so reliable and such great value that we were surprised by a delayed meal service and a poor, cold, dry main course. The Manager handled it very well and we shall certainly be back again. But it was a rare disappointment and a bit of a let down.

Lovely food, nice staff and a good atmosphere but the food took an age to get to us! It was a rush to eat and get to the theatre for the start of the show! They did compensate us on the final bill which was very fair but it would have been so much more enjoyable to have a relaxed meal.

Good value, tasty food served quickly and efficiently, with friendly, smiley staff in very comfortable surroundings. We've never been disappointed in our meals, and the first class service, at Cote Brasserie, Oxford, which is why we keep returning regularly.

We had a lovely evening supper at Cote, which is our go to place for a girlie catch up! Choosing from the early evening menu, we were impressed by the choice. Service was good, perfectly balanced between there when we wanted to leisurely when we were chatting. As ever, staff were helpful and polite. Thanks again, Cote!

Excellent service and delicious food. The complimentary Gin & Tonic aperitif was lovely. I'm happy to pay a service charge but not so keen to pay an additional 12.5% on the wine, and I know I could ask for it to be removed but it makes one feel a bit uncomfortable especially when you've had an enjoyable evening.

Service was very good. Food lovely. My only objection is the addition of the 'optional' 12.5% service charge. I wish restaurants would not do that!

Excellent evening, as always. Staff are friendly, welcoming and attentive and the food is consistently good. We enjoyed ribeye steaks cooked to perfection followed by our favourite dessert - creme caramel, the best we've ever tasted. Thank you, we'll be back.

3 in the party all having the premier set menu. The Gazpacho was good, but a little stodgy. Heritage tomato salad colourful if a little less flavoursome than expected. The calamari was good. The goats cheese salad main very nice. One of the group had the steak, 'pretty good'. I had seafood linguini was nice, the mussels, prawns and calamari tender. Something, maybe the clams were a little gritty. But otherwise it was not very flavoursome or very rich. I've had much better in both an Italian franchise and seafood restaurants. House white wine was nice. One of the group had a peach crumble which was stodgy, soggy, a little bitter and not sweetest all. Beer was nice if a little expensive. Restaurant a little too noisy. Service was lovely, helpful and friendly. Overall, reasonable value for a reasonable meal.

The first time we went was a busy lunchtime and it took an age to get our puddings, in fact we ended up with the cheese as a take-away because we would otherwise have been late for the theatre. This time we went late afternoon, when it was quieter and the service was quick and attentive.

Food was good, service rather erratic , but possibly due to a lot of new staff. Gents toilets were flooded and this was reported . Restaurant was rather empty for Sunday lunch.
