Côte Oxford

First visit. Good experience. Staff were attentive and helpful, and paid careful attention to my ( coeliac ) wife's requirements. Service excellent. Food was appetising and portion size was good. Would recommend a visit...but book first !!

Great choice, excellent food, friendly staff, awful service. Probably too busy and overstretched but having to wait endlessly for each course, getting the bill, getting the card reader, was vexing.

Food good as always but very busy on a Saturday evening and service from kitchen was very slow. Servers did their best in difficult circumstances.

The restaurant was very busy with Christmas parties which delayed our service. The food was good but service was a little under par. The staff were struggling to cope with the parties and one other very demanding table.

Slow service, tasteless starter and dessert not available. Not the standard we expect from Cote. Not our favourite Cote, doesn't match the standard of Exeter, Cheltenham or Cirencester.

Food and service was fabulous. 12.5% gratuity added to the bill and low ceiling noise wasn't, and we'd have tipped more if the choice was ours.

Incredibly slow service and the food wasn’t that impressive when it arrived. Not convinced that the bill was right either. Won’t go here again unfortunately.

Excellent food and wonderful service. Great value for money. As a coeliac I was very well looked after and staff were very aware of the problem.

Great food, great service, what more could any one ask. I have used around seven different locations of Cote restaurants and the food is always of the same quality wherever you go.

A little bit slow with our desserts. Get some decent gin & tonic please and don't serve it in a tall tumbler. Little more pricey than expected but probably average for all I know. Menu could have done with fewer "similar" dishes. I would have liked lamb. Had that in Cadogan Square, London - delicious.

With good food, friendly service, a nice ambiance and good value for money. I would recommend this restaurant in the centre of Oxford, near theatre and cinemas.

Once again another lover meal with paired wine. My calamari and fish soup were divine. Great service, head waiter always welcoming and curtious. Going again later in month

Good food although quite a few things we wanted no longer available. Delicious tuna salad nicoise, Mussels and green vegetables risotto. Perfect creme caramel and tart citron

As usual when dining at Cote the food was lovely with a great service. We both had 3 courses and coffee and a bottle of excellent house white. Already booked for Cote, Kensington in December.

I would have appreciated some bread with the soup and being asked at least6 times as toho we found the food was nauseating and irritating

I pre booked the table and I was very glad I had as it was very busy. Warm welcome on arrival and delicious food,we both had mushroom crepes which I can recommend

We arrived half an hour late due to a bus problem, but the staff got us seated right away and we not only had a 3 course meal with a delicious bottle of Picpoul, but the food was excellent and we were out within 1 hour to make it to the theatre. Normally we would like to take more time to enjoy each course, but we really appreciated the efficient and courteous service to get us to the show on time. Also we like the atmosphere at Cote Oxford. We'll certainly go back again.

As always a great meal and lovely atmosphere. The staff are al ways so attentive and want you to have a really good evening. We have dined here several times as a group and will be back again.

My wife's main course was poor, but Cote were very considerate and unexpectedly deleted the cost of her meal. it is a shame since normally all is very good.

Food was very good, excellent wine list. Service was fast, friendly and efficient. Will definitely visit again and probably make this my pre-theatre dinner destination of choice.

Excellent food - risotto vert and dark chocolate mousse, cod goujons and creme brulee. Quite busy in pre theatre slot, but reasonably prompt service from friendly staff

Great meal. Was given two Kir Royales free for my friend’s birthday. Very kind gesture, only to be charged for them on the bill. Didn’t realise until left restaurant.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered a fougasse but unfortunately there weren’t any so we were immediately offered bread and butter on the house. They kept us informed about what was going on as the restaurant was extremely busy and we had to wait a little longer than normal but as they were so attentive it didn’t spoil our meal. When the food arrived it was all very tasty and we would definitely return for another meal there.

Food was excellent, service was very slow It was an hour after we arrived before we had any food. As we were going to the theatre ( and we had told the staff) this was worrying .

Dishes are always very well presented, the food, of French inspiration and great is always very well cooked and amazingly tasty. Good value for money.

The service and the food were excellent, even though the restaurant was very busy. All the staff stayed very professional under great pressure. A good early evening meal.

Great food, lovely seasonal menu and superbly presented. Especially liked the warm bread wrapped in s cloth napkin. Happy attentive waitress. Only complaint was that it got cold as the restaurant emptied out towards the end of the evening

Great food, atmosphere and service. Unfortunately they were out of a few different menu items by 8pm so worth checking in advance if there is something you really want to eat in particular.

Always a wonderful meal, service is of a high standard. This is my favourite place to eat in Oxford. We eat here at least once a week and the high standard is always the same.

The food and particularly the service was excellent. They have made it very special for our friends who just turned to 60 and I would recommend it to anyone.

Tables too close. Not as nice as Cote in London (Marylebone and Soho). Food plated too long before reaching the table. Choc pot was very nice.

Excellent choice on the menu; good quality & well presented food; good quality wines; reasonably priced; near to the theatre in Oxford; very pleasant & attentive staff.

The team were very responsive and allowed us to have starters and mains before the theatre then come back sece hours later to have puddings and more wine - what an excellent idea - may be worth marketing g as a package! My husband also dropped his walker during g the eve I g which one of the waiters found. Excellent and verynokeaseant team of young staff - well done Cotr Oxford - we will return for yummy food and great service

We had an enjoyable meal. The restaurant was very busy but staff were as friendly and attentive as possible. Food was tasty and we would return.

Very good experience at Cote Oxford, delicious food and good service - exactly as hoped for. We had a delay for one of our party but the staff were charming and helpful supplying us with coffee and nibbles while we wait. We were at no time made to feel we were taking too long at our table. Once again a worth the trip to Oxford and choosing Cote.

We arrived early but table was waiting for us along with excellent service even though extremely busy. Great atmosphere and everyone enjoyed their food. Loved the French onion soup.

First time to visit this busy restaurant but it want be the last . Although busy the service was excellent , nothing was too much trouble and it was a very enjoyable experience . The French soup for starters was delicious as was my fish pie. My husband had duck as a main which he thoroughly enjoyed . The cost of the meal with a botttle of wine came to £73 which included a service charge .Excellent value for money and a lovely atmosphere .

It was a busy time when we arrived, but the greeting was warm and friendly, the service was great, our waiter Levé looked after us well, the food was delicious and great value. Highly recommended for a pre theatre meal.

Lunch menu was good value, good choice and very much enjoyed the food. Service was friendly and efficient. The restaurant was a bit noisy and there were some loud talkers; otherwise it was very enjoyable.

Food excellent, as usual, but we had the worst table in the restaurant. It had been squeezed into an inadequate position at the top of the frequently-used stairs to the loos. An uncomfortable and unsuitable position

Fast and efficient service and we enjoyed the food + plus although we were only 2, at our request, we were allocated a larger table which was much appreciated.

All good but had to wait rather a long time for food. This was acknowledged and recompense given. we will return when next in Oxford.

Excellent service/food . Just don’t like having a service charged add. I did leave a tip,but I decided how much I want to leave, I don’t need your company to decide for me.

Once again we had a super meal, with good service and a nice ambience, all at a very reasonable price. Our favourite place to eat before going to the Theatre.

we had a thoroughly enjoyable time as always with excellent staff and food. It was a very busy Christmas lights evening in Oxford and we were asked to move tables for coffee to allow a large group to come in. We had no problem with that but we were given a reduction on the bill which was a very nice gesture and all done in a charming way. We find it a really convenient place to eat with an easy menu. The special crepe with orange and ice cream was superb. Definitely to be recommended.

Lovely food and attentive service. Our starters were sublime; the French onion soup was rich and tasty and the Boudin Noir (sautéed French black pudding with caramelised apples, poached egg and frisée salad) was delightful. For the main course we chose Côte de Boeuf to share (chargrilled 22oz aged rib-eye steak, served sliced off the bone, with frites and béarnaise sauce), which was perfectly cooked and delicious. A mishap in the kitchen meant our steak was delayed but the waiter and manager wasted no time in rectifying the situation; our main course was on the house. We were very impressed with this. Mistakes happen it's how they are dealt with that counts. Top marks to Côte Oxford. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable evening. Would certainly eat there again, sadly we live in Margate so it will be a while.
