Food was excellent and reasonably priced for central Oxford. Service was polite and sufficiently attentive but the staff were a bit overrun as the lunch hour hit peak busy time.

Good, reasonably priced food and cheerful service. The belly pork was my favourite dish, but all we had was good.Cote is a go-to for me as it's so dependable

Water glass was dirty and poached egg when cut into was full of water resulting in rest of food and plate swimming..had this booked for a while and was really looking forward to it but was rather let down...

Unfortunately this evening was not one of our better visits. Four of us went pre theatre and the restaurant was very busy. We had to wait ages for our starter and main and had to ask for our dessert and bill while we were still on our main course so that we weren't late for the show. This has happened before, I don't think there are enough staff between 5.30 and 7 to cover the pre theatre diners. When we left the restaurant was almost empty. Also when our mains did arrive they were ridiculously hot and a bit dry as though they had been microwaved. Maybe that's why they were late out. Probably been forgotten about and the nuked! It is a shame because I've always said how good cote is but on the last few occasions I have felt a bit uncomfortable having taken friends there.

Apart from rather slow service the food was up to the usual Cote standard. Np complimentary Kir Royale this time which was a pity. Overall a reliable chain restaurant.

A lovely evening with very good food only spoilt by a very large noisy party arriving thankfully as we were thinking of going. So we went pronto!

I enjoyed the excellent food, and the overall service was good. Tables perhaps a little close together for an intimate meal with the wife. Would go again when in Oxford.

The restaurant was busy and this was made more obvious because the tables are tightly packed together The waiting staff were hard working but the service was slow and we had to repeat our request for mayonnaise . The food was hot , nicely presented and very tasty .

Excellent meal, great service - our server was really good + the manager was very 'on the spot' - could not fault the whole experience. Would recommend for a good night out

The lunch set menu was very good value, food was delicious and well presented. Quite a cosy restaurant as they seem to have put in as many tables as possible so be weary if looking for somewhere to have an intimate conversation...

A very warm welcome. It was freezing outside so very nice to step into such a warm cosy restaurant. A very good wine selection, though a tad on the pricey side. A menu to suit all tastes, from fussy teenagers to vegetarians. Service could not be faulted and the food very very tasty. Shame the mains don't come with vegetables, these have to be ordered separately which bumps the price up. Overall a very pleasant experience, though a special occasion for us as we wouldn't normally dine at somewhere quite so pricey. Will certainly try the daytime deals though now that we know how good it is. High reccomended!

Sadly when we arrived, we were informed that 3 of the main courses on the early bird offer were not available, with no alternatives provided. The restaurant was much more cramped than other Cotes we are used to visiting. However, the food we had was of the same high standard we have come to expect.

Fantastic in every aspect, we booked the table as it was our youngest daughters 16th Birthday and we had been to the Theater before, it also was one of the special restaurants we took my mother to when she was alive, we travelled by train from Banbury so we could both enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner. ALL I CAN SAY IS THANK TO THE TEAM THERE FOR A FANTASTIC DINNING EXPERIENCE ONCE AGAIN AND SEE YOU SOON

Service was fine, but we had to return one of the Roast Chicken as it was not cooked and was bloody. This was dealt with efficiently, but unfortunately we have had this problem with Roast Chicken at Cote on 3 other occasions. Generally well dealt with, but on one occasion the waitress was argumentative and reluctant to deal with the problem. It was eventually resolved.

Good service - polite friendly staff, good grub - all well - carry on as you're doing - efficient staff who seem to be 'connected' to the actual cooks (sometimes a rarity in some restaurants). Very good

Excellent atmosphere . Moules were delicious , steak from specials menu was superb and the pork belly from regular menu was , as usual , splendid . A well scripted wine list offers a great range of wines , but the 'December special' St Emilion was first class

Fantastic girlie lunch with a friend. The food was delicious for both the carnivore AND the vegetarian, which is unusual in some restaurants; we couldn't fault the food. The service was excellent - efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. Cote Brasserie is a favourite of mine but it was the first time for my friend. I did expect the quality to be a little lower, given there were lots of Christmas lunch parties there, but both food and service were exceptional, it's as if being under pressure made everything even better. Congratulations Cote Brasserie in Oxford!

Any visit to Cote is a very pleasant experience. We went after a theatre visit and it was completely full but the staff still had time to exchange a few words. Recommended by us is the Breton fish stew. We 3 had a very pleasant evening with good food and drink. We are now looking forward to our next visit. Eileen

Very nice restaurant, small and homey, with good food that arrived in good time. I had char-grilled chicken which was excellent, and came with enough vegetables and potatoes to leave me satisfied but craving more. I had a chocolate pot for dessert which came in a very small pot, but was very rich and I can understand the small portion size, though I'd have gladly demolished a bowlful! The staff were very friendly and attentive through the meal and I am planning on returning soon

Overall it was an enjoyable experience with excellent service from the friendly staff. Our one disappointment was the starter chosen from the specials menu. We both chose the grilled prawns but neither of us could detect any garlic as promised in the description. We did tell the waiter who passed the comment to the chef. He said that garlic butter was used so we could only comment that in future the chef should increase the amount of garlic. Our mains courses were as described and thoroughly enjoyed.

We visited for Friday lunch and ate from the very reasonably priced fixed lunch menu. Atmosphere was good, the restaurant was full and the waiting staff attentive. My only gripe was with my starter. I chose the mushrooms on brioche which consisted of a small slice of toasted brioche with a small amount of sauce and what seemed to be literally one mushroom chopped up in it. Is there a mushroom shortage? It was also tepid so I asked for it to be warmed up and maybe more mushroom added - it came back hot but sadly no more mushrooms. I wouldn't have minded so much but my friend opted for the mussels and had a huge bowl of them. I definitely lost on the starters.

Extremely busy so given a small table so close to a party of 6 on the next table that all we could hear was their conversation. It took 50 mins for starter to arrive which was very mediocre as prawns over cooked. Very good main course of pork belly and fish stew. Polite staff but took another 15mins to receive bill after asking for it.
