This is a first class restaurant 10 out of 10
As it was a Saturday, we ate from the a la Carte menu. Several items were "off". I had crab bisque, particularly good, and haddock rolled in bacon. My husband had onion soup (good) and pork belly which he said tasted good but was lukewarm (not good). We both managed puds also!
Very enjoyable meal as always though some tables are a bit close to others which means you can be privvy to other peoples conversations some of whom speak VERY loudly and have domestics over dinner.
Attention to detail, service very good and food you can rely on the quality
Food always good whichever Cote I have been to and courteous service
My friends and I were very satisfied and enjoyed our evening
It was a very busy time at Cote in Oxford. Most of the tables were filled by pre theatre attendees. Curtain up was at 7.30pm and everyone was in a hurry. We had a reservation for 6 and were promptly seated but our order took too long to be served. It was an excellent meal at a great price. Very good value.
Always friendly staff. Food never disappoints, a good evening had by all.
Having eaten at Cote in February it was my first choice when treating my daughter to a lunch out. Our food, chosen from the set menu was delicious. We had the 3 course meal. Each course came up to my expectations and my daughter was impressed with her food. She said it was the best food she had eaten out in a long time. The staff are efficient and friendly. Will be back.
Excellent from start to finish. All staff were warm, welcoming, friendly and polite and were obviously happy in their work. Restaurant was clean, a warm atmosphere and although reasonably full there was plenty of space between the tables. Food was excellent - delicious and perfect portions.
We have been to Cote in Oxford many times. We book in advance and always get the table we request, the service is not at all pushy, the food is always just right and delicious. We never feel rushed and will certainly be returning again.
A great place to enjoy a lovely meal and catch up with an old friend.
Our second visit to this Cote and we had a reasonable meal. The pork tenderloin was quite pink and there was not much potato with the offering. Overall they have done much better but we will certainly try again at another Cote.
We went for early pre-theatre supper. Early evening menu is excellent value for delicious food. Service was efficient , warm and friendly. Will definitely use again.
Excellent food, drink and service would highly recommend Than you
We ate at 4;45 and the restaurant was almost empty, so understandably quiet and not much atmosphere. Service was good although the soup came very quickly followed by a longish wait for the mains, however as we were not in a hurry it wasn't an issue. Overall the usual Cote good quality and reasonable price.
Had the set menu which was very good, salt cod fishcakes and steak frites (which is a winner for me), and dark chocolate pot, what's not to like. Excellent waitress.
Very Good Service, the waiter gave us a complimentary drink for having to wait for a booked table.
Very friendly and attentive staff. The food was delicious, it all came out lovely and hot and no waiting. Great location for a pre Theatre meal.
Great food and service as always! Will be back again.
I love Cote as it is one of the few restaurants who focus on making a good choice of gluten free meals. I had not realised that my meal came without vegetables and I think given the cost, it could have included some and at no point did the waiter say that it does not come with any, would I like to order some? The table we had was right next to the busy thoroughfare through the restaurant and I felt the table felt as if it was in the way with waiters rushing past it all the time.
A very nice meal, well served and in a pleasant atmosphere.
Fresh quality produce used, hot and delicious food, prompt and attentive service. All dishes reasonably priced. Cote is an excellent venue for theatre goers for large groups and intimate diners. Give it a try you wont be disappointed
Tried the new set menu and impressed. Had pork rillettes, fish pie and chocolate pot. Lovely service even though the restaurant was very busy that night. Would always highly recommend
Courteous welcome, efficient service, two gluten-free menus provided, We had one hour to eat before theatre and staff made sure we were not rushed. Good value for money on their pre-theatre menu. Very popular - lots of walk-ins had to be turned away, so booking advisable.
Once again we had a lovely meal and the staff were brilliant. We did have to wait longer for our dessert but the staff came over to explain the problem which was good as we New that we weren’t forgotten.
We had such a good greeting from the manager. We were shown to our table quickly and given the menus. We did not have to wait long for our order to be taken. The food was lovely. This really is a great restaurant.
We had lunch for three on a busy Saturday. The service was cheerful and professional the food was good value once an error in the bill had been quickly and apologetically corrected.
Excellent experience. Good food, pleasant waitress and great service. We really enjoyed it and will go again. A very reasonably priced lunch and although they were busy we did not feel rushed.
Great food. I had vegetarian options. Really good service. Nice restaurant. Only criticism is that the tables are a bit close together and I felt as though our whole conversation was being listened to by the next table.
As ever the set menus were varied, all our dishes were well presented and excellent food. The staff attentive and cheerful, an over all enjoyable experience
Good set menu, and a nice waitress, but such slow service - 40 minutes before we were served our starter, and a long gap before our main course. Pity!
We’ve eaten at Oxford Cotes before but not at lunchtime. So pleased we booked in advance as it was busy due to matinee theatre goers. However we were given a lovely table and the service was excellent. We weren’t rushed and the timings were perfect. As always the food was very good. Two of us were gf and I can highly recommend the gf French onion soup and the chicken walnut salad. Thank you.
The first course of crab was delicious. The second course would have been lovely had it been hot, which it wasn't. They were very busy and I suspect our meals were forgotten on the side! However, they offered to replace both mine and my friend's meal which we declined. Without us asking for it, they took my meal and our bottle of wine off the bill. That is what I call service. I would certainly go back. I have always had superb food at Cote. this was just a bad night put right by the management.
We had lunch at Cote Brasserie in Oxford today, and could not have wished for a more enjoyable meal. The service was excellent. It was my daughter’s birthday, and we had glasses of Kir Royale on arrival and a chocolate cake after the main course together with an unexpected rendition of Happy Birthday from the staff. All in all, a great experience! Thank you Cote.
It is lovely to go to a restaurant where you are treated so well. The welcome was great andour waiter so nice and professional. He couldn't have done more to make our visit so pleasant. This is a great restaurant.
I ate at the restaurant twice this week Tuesday 5th and Friday 8th. As always, the food was excellent and the staff were efficient and cheerful. On both occasions I was with a group of people and they enjoyed it very much. I eat at Cote regularly.
Brilliant as usual. Our favourite table by the windows. Good service, nice atmosphere and great food and wine selection. Always perfectly placed for a trip to the Old Firestation Theatre.
Always met in a friendly way, the menus are all good value for money especially the early menu, which we use pre- theatre and the service is attentive.
We had the early evening menu on Friday. The Egg Benedict was a delicious starter. We were divided in our opinion of the Chicken and Bacon Parmentier main course. My husband thought it was very tasty and I found it a little too salty. The Côte Crème Caramel is consistently excellent - lovely texture and not too sweet. A very pleasant pre-theatre dinner.
Only OK this time, 3 of our steaks were very chewy. Shame as we do really like it here usually.
All of the staff were very helpful and cheerful. The food was excellent - such a wonderful change from all the Italian restaurants in Oxford. The ambiance in the restaurant was very pleasant.
Friendly helpful attentive staff, excellent varied menu for pre theatre meal. All our choices delicious especially the creme caramel pud. Will return to try more from the wider menu.
Excellent food and really outstanding service. The noise level was just tolerable for conversation, but it would help if some sound-deadening material could be installed.
We had another lovely meal. This restaurant is so convenient for those days when we go to the theatre. The reception is friendly, the staff are very efficient and the food is lovely.
A very pleasant lunch. The lunch/early evening menu represents very good value. I come here about once a month to meet up with friends and this restaurant is reliable for good service and good food. A very positive aspect is that diners are not hurried. So often the bill is presented as soon as the coffee has been served but at Côte, unless the restaurant is particularly busy, the table is yours for as long as you wish to stay.
Excellent menu, food quality and service ~ as usual ! Consistency in all 3 is itself a virtue ! Always a pleasure return and long may Cote maintain these high standards.
We visited Cote Oxford again last night, and the young lady who served us was exceptional. Two of us had the lamb shank which dropped off the bone, cooked to perfection, and finished with crème brulee which is always delicious. We also used a voucher for a free bottle of wine which washed it all down very nicely.
Have been for lunch and dinner at this friendly and welcoming brasserie. Really good service and good food! If you're in Oxford certainly worth having a meal there.
We booked with friends who hadn’t been to Cote before.Everyone was pleased with their meal and the staff were very attentive and pleasant. We will be back again.
