Côte Norwich

Disappointing dinner from a normally reliable restaurant. We dine here en famille every 2 or 3 weeks and have never had a bad meal until now. Breton fish stew appeared to be made with water strained from the veg! No taste at all! In fact, horrid! Tuna in the nicoise salad was overcooked and tough. Swordfish was cold when it arrived. The fish stew was so bad it had to be sent back and something else ordered, a goat cheese salad, and here the accompanying tapenade crostini was *burnt* (to the point of inedible). It seems the current (I presume new, or replacement?) chef burns even toast! To be fair, the managers were apologetic, swift to try and rectify the situation, and did not charge us for the fish stew or goat-cheese salad, but the meal was spoilt nonetheless. What is normally a great treat was simply a matter of refuelling. Cote Norwich, you have one more chance with us. We will return as usual in 2-3 weeks, but if we have another poor dinner, we will start dining somewhere else. A great pity ...

The food was amazing, lovely atmosphere and great service. Lovely touch with the complimentary rhubarb martinis they were yummy, and original never seen them before! I will definitely be coming back soon.

Really pleased with the complementary kir royal provided in recognition of my Birthday. Staff were friendly and provided top service. Food was also excellent.

Great welcome. Table ideally situated. Super service. I was with a friend who had never been to a Cote before and she was most impressed with the Vegetarian options available. I am a Coeliac and am always very happy with the GF menu. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner together and we will be back. Only one slight hitch at the end with getting and paying our bill prevented the highest star rating.

Excellent food and service as always. Can highly recommend the salt cod croquettes, baked camembert followed by totally sublime creme caramel!

The food at Cote is consistently great and the service is always fantastic!

We usually come at lunch time but entertained two guests yesterday evening. Service was a bit slow but we talked so much between ourselves that it didn't really matter. However my "pepper crusted steak" arrived without any pepper at all and the waitress did not seem to grasp the significance of serving it without the described pepper ! She brought a small bowl of ground black pepper to the table once attention was drawn to this. Despite all this we still all enjoyed our meal.

Had a delicious meal at cote norwich last weekend. The staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival and let us choose were we would like to be seated. Service was prompt and we didn’t have to wait long for our food inbetween courses. Atmosphere pleasant. Would definately return.

Booked a table online and were greeted by name when we arrived. Introduced to our waitress who remained attentive all even. Booking online gave us free cocktails (negroni my favourite). The food was really good - calamari and asparagus followed by excellent lamb and roasted haddock. We had another engagement so no time for dessert but the bill came quickly. Really good food and excellent service made this a really good evening out.

Lovely waiting staff and atmosphere. Only slight problem was that one of the main meals was out of stock.

Good food and attentive service made for a very enjoyable family lunch on Mothering Sunday (helped by a free glass of Kir Royale, which was part of the Mothers’ Day menu). We chose to take my mother there because my parents like the place!

Lovely evening spent here with friends. Food was delicious and service was faultless. I My only slight niggle is that the crackling on the pork belly was not crispy......but would still definitely return.

We were warmly greeted as we entered the restaurant, given a choice of where we wanted to sit (in an already busy restaurant). Great choice of food to pick from; we both thoroughly enjoyed what we chose. Attentive and very good service. In all, a lovely experience and would highly recommend. Everything you would hope for from a very good restaurant. Thank you!

Staff are cheerful. helpful and attentive. The food is excellent = we had the Prestige set menu which was perfect, from which I chose the steak and this was delicious. Very good dining experience

Staff were brilliant. From the moment we walked in they were polite, friendly, professional and entertaining! (Especially Daschal, if pronounced correctly). Couldn't ask for more. The service was great and the food was fantastic as always. Our waiter (Daniel I think his name was , tall short hair) was amazing, nothing seemed like too much trouble and even though he was very busy he was still attentive.

The waiting staff were very pleasant but, when my Mum explained that her potatoes were so hard she couldn't cut them and asked if she could have some others, her plate was taken away and then brought back with the explanation that ' the chef says that's how they're supposed to be' and she wasn't offered any different ones. I'm afraid it spoilt the mother's day experience for all of us. I worked in catering for 8 years and would have thought that she would have at least been offered an alternative. We've always really enjoyed the experience before but today was disappointing.

The staff are always so polite and friendly, the food is always of the highest quality. I love the ever changing menu, and monthly seasonal cocktails. Last month was so yummy Seville orange martini and today was a St Martin's Gin and tonic with lavender and cucumber, very refreshing. I had the special rump of lamb with black olives and roasted garlic, simple delicious.

This was the first time I had been to Cote and I will definitely come back. We had a really friendly waitress who was knowledgeable and attentive. There was a warm and inviting atmosphere. Cote had a varied menu and offered great value for money to suit all budgets. When our food arrived, it looked great and tasted better.

Fab staff, nothing was too much trouble. Free cocktails given to us as it was my friends birthday. The set meal is great value, recommend the steak.

We were given a very warm welcome when we arrived and the service throughout the whole meal was brilliant. The food was nicely presented and very delicious and served on lovely hot plates. This is one of our favourite places to eat!

When you walk into a restaurant first impressions are very important to get a feel of how your experience may go. Unfortunately, the greeting from the Maitre De was very abrupt and unwelcoming, not able to smile. Fortunately, the remainder of the table waiting staff were extremely attentive, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious, and served on hot plates, service was very quick and efficient. This made for a very enjoyable meal. Just for information, a 12.5% service charge is added to your bill, this is stated as optional but you have to ask to have it removed if your not happy with the service.

A most pleasant lunch, enjoyable fare and friendly service. The French Onion soup was very good, the fish parmentier nice but a little dry and the choc mousse excellent. Wines are over expensive in my opinion.

Excellent food and service...couldn’t fault it at all. All our meals were delicious. The ceilings are low but the noise level is ok, unlike many restaurants nearby.

Great food and service. No panic even though it was Mother’s Day. We visit often and will come again. Salmon was particularly delicious. Staff are really professional.

We’re so lucky that Cote is just a short walk from home. This is enhanced by the great staff, stylish food and wine & exceptional service. The Cote Burger was probably the tastiest I’ve had for ages and the Fish Parmentier a delight.

Absoultly faultless from start to finish, service impeccable and food that just made the evening a true delight. Thank you for a wonderful evening and many restaurants could learn a lot from you how it's done !
