As always the set menu at lunch time was super. Very good service and very good value for money. Would recommend to anyone. It's well worth a visit either as a couple or with friends.
Choice of food was amazing. All tasted amazing. The red wine was amazing. Loved the whole experience. Only one small problem - one of us ordered (there were three of us) a desert - we had to remind the waiter three times & it took 30 minutes to arrive. We had all finished our coffees by the time it arrived. However, we are all happy to make a return visit.
Absolutely amazing, world class food with brilliant staff and top quality service. We will most definitely return and cannot recommend the restaurant highly enough. Thank you for an awesome experience!
Great location, service and food!!! The wine was lovely and the meal was served at a reasonable speed without being intrusive or having too long between courses. Never had a bad meal in any cote !
Excellent food very pleasant staff and lovely surroundings. The restaurant had a friendly atmosphere and was busy but not noisy. We certainly will be back.
My wife ordered ribeye steak, she found that there was an excessive amount of fat.She places the fat on the side of her plate. She brought the amount of fat to the attention of the waiter, who informed her that as the steak was ribeye had fat. We have eaten ribeye steaks in the past, both restaurant and supermarket bought. Our companions commented that the fat on the side of the plate looked disgusting. My wife said she enjoyed the steak, but the fat put here off!
Just a great place to eat and relax... we love it!! We have tried breakfast and luncg too and just as great. For sure be back . Staff are great as is the food
Beautiful meal. My friend ordered the fish pie but it was a little on the small side. Greeting could have been more friendly at the Newcastle restaurant.
Service good and food lovely. Would definitely return Fab interior and tables set out well. Lots to choose on the menus with very varied meals x
Visited with a group of 8 friends from Scotland. We were waited on by Tom 'from Byker' who was incredibly attentive. The food was very good, I had been recommended the fish stew and it was delicious. There was quite a lot of choice on the menu so everyone found something suitable. We all had a wonderful evening and I'll definitely be going back. (Lisa and friends from Callander)
Lovely cosy restaurant food fab staff nice only dropped one star as we waited quite a long time during courses making you feel they had forgot about you. Otherwise still a favourite place to eat with friends.
Love this restaurant everything is right about this place the food is amazing the staff are super friendly crème caramel is the best thing every I could have sat all night and ordered just 1 more thankyou guys for a great experience. I will be back
The very best of French cuisine and hospitality. The selection from brunch menu is well priced and tasty. Thanks to our favourite Manager for looking after puppy Katie. She loves the toys x
First time at Cote Brasserie Newcastle for our wedding anniversary and what an excellent choice, superb food and service, would definitely recommend a visit.😃.
Always good food. The flat iron steak was a little on the cold side but the ham and celeriac was tremendous
We had a great seats in the restaurant in a booth looking into Central Arcade which I really enjoyed. The service we received was excellent, friendly and professional but not overpowering which I liked. We both chose the Duck with Lyonnaise potato as a main course and it really good following a starter we shared of mixed olives with a onion topped flatbread. The whole meal was really enjoyed and the addition of a bottle of Syrah was a wise choice ! We have been to this restaurant several times and will be returning.
Fantastic food in lovely surroundings. Staff are very pleasant and as one of our party is dairy intolerant, they couldn't be more helpful. Definitely would recommend a visit.
This is our second visit and we will definitely return again soon. Excellent food, with plenty of choice. All three courses were delicious. Prompt service and very friendly staff.
We arrived here for breakfast and enjoyed it so much we came back for Tea. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the menu was fabulous and for the feast we had on both occasions you could not fault the price. We had booked on the complimentary wine deal but wanted to eat from the set menu, however since only one guest was drinking wine they generously served a large glass free of charge!! With the lovely surroundings, great staff and fabulous food, I don’t know why you would eat any where else. One very happy Birthday girl.
Good food and excellent service made for a very enjoyable evening, I feel that although there are predictable features to what is offered it is done very well and reliably
Always a delight to catch up with dear friends at Newcastle Côte. Food always delicious. Staff warm and welcoming. And the atmosphere always convivial for a lengthy catch up.
Food very good value for money with generally better than average service.Wide range of menu options whatever time of day you visit. We enjoy Cote a lot and always seek out the chain when in London
I have eaten at Cote so many times and not once have i been disappointed. It was my birthday and myself and two friends received complimentary Kir Royales and good was fantastic.Staff are always friendly and attentive and can,t do enough for you.Lovely atmosphere and background music,I will be booking again very soon.
Love the overall feel in the restaurant where you can meet friends for a lazy long lunch, unhurried by the staff with brilliant food choices and excellent service. My favourite eatery in Newcastle at present. Please keep up the good standard and we'll continue to keep coming back.
Great atmosphere, brilliant staff and awesome food. What more could you ask for? My only regret is that I hadn't been before. It'll be a new regular for me.
An interesting and diverse menu, including a good value prix fixe (although we chose from the a la carte, as one of the February specials was swordfish steak). Very good food quality and presentation, discreet and friendly service, comfortable ambience, well matched wine list, including by the glass. It wouldn't do any harm to offer 125ml glasses in addition to the 175ml and 250ml volumes. Our only negative is the inclusion in the bill of an optional 12.5% gratuity. Regrettably this is a very common tactic by restaurants these days and you need to be quite a robust personality to challenge it. The bill did not mention this sum being shared amongst the workforce, so one suspects this is simply a profit booster that requires no effort by management. It takes the shine off an otherwise very pleasant dining experience.
Excellent vegetarian food and well chosen above average French wine at a reasonable price. Friendly and efficient staff made this an all round enjoyable experience. Will go again soon!
Lovely brunch on a Saturday morning but was I very disappointed that the spinach on the vegetarian breakfast hadn’t been washed as it was full of grit! It was the only bad thing on all of the meals purchased.
We come here most Saturdays and are never disappointed It was extremely busy today and still the staff made you feel as though you were the only ones there Service as always was excellent I highly recommend this restaurant Food is tasty and never disappoints There are a few menus to choose from so suits all budgets
We eat at Cote in Newcastle quite a lot and it seems to get better each visit. Having used Cote in other locations including St Martins Lane the Newcastle property is as god as we have experienced.
First time visiting Cote Brasserie and it didn’t disappoint. The food was exceptional, one of the nicest meals we have had. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful
Beautiful food every time, we absolutely love Côte. The service is great and the food has been absolutely perfect each time we have been! Highly recommend
COTE Newcastle was our 8th meal at COTE since we discovered it in Exeter and it did not disappoint. The service, staff, ambience and of course the food could not be faulted.
Lovely food! It was my boyfriends birthday and they treated us to a welcome drink which was a really nice touch. Great service will def recommend and be back again!
Food beautiful and always so fresh. I had the Fish Parmetier and my husband had rib eye steak. Both were cooked to perfection. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Love it there.
Excellent service and food was amazing and staff very friendly, lovely surprise drinks for all for friends birthday. Would definitely be going back in future
A lovely family meal with visiting relatives. The staff were so hospitable and the early evening menu is great value. Particularly pleased with the way my younger daughter was accommodated - she’s 13 but with a small appetite so asked for the children’s menu. This was supplied without question (not the case in many restaurants where her age or eligibility is often challenged) and she was even able to order dessert from the main menu later when she decided she could manage one. All staff were very kind and friendly, the food was delicious and the restaurant really neat and clean.
Fabulous food- brilliant service, can’t fault the place. Looking forward to coming back again soon. Staff very attentive and friendly, thorough enjoyed our visit today. 😊
Another visit and this time pan fried haddock and swordfish steak for my colleague. Excellent flavours and again great service. As usual unobtrusive. Consistency in food and service makes this a great food experience.
My favourite restaurant in Newcastle. I have been every month since it opened. Today was the first time we have eaten from the al a carte menu. I had the duck, cooked to perfection, I would highly recommend it. Looking forward to next month already. Service and staff were as always, excellent.
Staff professional and friendly. Food was good, we chose off the special 3 course menu for £18.95. Good value for money. Also had a bottle of wine. Think the additional 12.5 % service charge added automatically is cheeky and high.
Having lost my sense of taste over a month ago it was nice to partially regain it during lunch today. Thank you to the kitchen for the best creme brûlée’s in the northeast.
The staff/food made my Birthday lunch a very special day.
Just all round excellent!! Always a fabulous dining experience. Thank you
Excellent food, service and ambience. Usual top quality from Cote.
Enjoyed pre show supper.Excellent value set menu. Both enjoyed our starters & elected to pay extra for steaks but sadly mine was fatty. My companions was perfect though. Staff are attentive & personable. Will return.
Great food, service and lovely staff. Have never been disappointed. Highly recommend. Miriam
Main was really good (we had pork belly, Tuna salad and one of the chicken dishes) and nice relaxing atmosphere. A little disappointed with 2 of the starters (Prawn and flatebread but really liked the calamari). Good selection of different dishes, good for vegetarians. Only problem - asked one of the dishes to exclude creme but they were unable to accommodate, which question the sauces are pre-made.
I booked the table for four for my birthday after receiving an email offering free aperitifs. We were not offered the drinks - I had to ask for them twice - we had a trainee waiter and then an experienced one and then the trainee again - by the time we received the two free drinks it was after the main course and not really appropriate by then. We were overcharged for our food due to confusion over what was ordered on the set menu and the a la carte. The small portion of bread and olives had an extortionate charge. We did not feel the 12.5% service charge which was automatically included in the bill was justified.
Really lovely warm welcoming restaurant- staff very friendly and attentive. Plenty of choice and different pricing menus for those eating early evening. The food was delicious and well presented with enough time between courses not to feel rushed. We had 3 courses each and no complaints about anything we were served. Would definitely return again as so much more to try. Well worth the money.
