Loved it. Staff were great, went the extra mile for my girlfriend's birthday. Food was excellent, very reasonable prices and a lovely atmosphere, we'll be back!
Very good food, excellent service and lovely ambience. This is my fourth visit to the Newcastle restaurant and I have not been disappointed. Thoroughly recommended.
Superb food & drink from wide ranging menu with excellent waiter service in high quality spacious surroundings, ambience, tidiness and cleanliness - could not be better!
Personal staff, great service, background music eclectic, correct volume. Superb attention to Gluten free provision. Only downside, intrusive video chat on next table not stopped.
Could not fault in any way. Staff very professional and attentive without being overbearing. Food was delicious and very high quality, cooked to perfection. The restaurant itself has a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend a visit!
Good food, great prices, excellent service. Well worth a visit. Will return soon. Had been to the Edinburgh restaurant and the Newcastle was one was just as good.
This was my third visit to Cote and each time has been most enjoyable. The food is very good and well presented, the staff pleasant and helpful and service prompt.I shall definitely return v.soon.
Food quality great, but 2 of our steaks arrived luke warm, nearly cold. Re-heated as requested without issue. Desserts given free without needing to make any issue. Disappointed to have received cold steaks in the 1st place but very pleased with no-fuss and appropriate response. Will still come again and again.
If you like to be able to talk while you eat, the staff to be attentive but not obtrusive and more importantly the food to be well presented and taste delicious then I recommend you eat at Cote Brasserie. My sister and I chose to eat from the Prestige set menu and weren’t disappointed. For starters we chose baked cheese and calamari then both had rib eye and tomato salad for main completing the meal with ice cream and warm chocolate sauce and my sister creme caramel. Each course was well presented and tasted amazing. The staff allowed enough time between courses and everything was delivered and cleared with the minimum of fuss. Staff didn’t hover but always seemed to be on hand when needed and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely recommend others to book and we will be back.
A brilliant experience from the moment we were greeted and seated to the moment we left. The staff were courteous and attentive without being obtrusive and the food was amazing. We opted for the prestige set menu which at £19 for 3 courses was excellent value and provided a wide choice of options. I opted for the naked goats cheese followed by the rib eye with tomato salad and completed by the ice-cream with warm chocolate sauce . My sister also had the steak but started with the calamari and ended with the creme caramel. Each course was well cooked and well presented and more importantly tasted as good as it looked. We will definitely be back.
Excellent early meal on the Saturday evening. Food and wine well priced. Staff very pleasant. Couldn't fault anything and will be back again for sure.
wonderful food, excellent friendly service, good brasserie atmosphere, good value for money. only issue toilets down a twisty flight of stairs...but good toilets. would recommend to all
Friendly greeting on entering the restaurant. Server introduced herself and was efficient throughout service. Food was well presented and of good quality. Complimentary water was a bonus.
Hadn't visited Cote in Newcastle upon Tyne before - apparently opened late last year. Great addition to the casual dining offering city and will definitely visit again. Our party was there for a family occasion, a baby announcement over breakfast, and manager Mark and his team looked after us extremely well. Food, service and ambience were top-notch.
Great customer service, very attentive and pleasant, and good menu. It was very handy for our pre theatre dinner. Will certainly use this restaurant again.
Our party ws made up of four people, the two ladies had fish and teh two men had staeak. One had a fillet and the other a T-Bone. The size of both steaks was very poor value foe money, they were so small. I had recommended we eat at Cotes but the guys will not be going back.
It was a wonderful experience we loved the setting ,service and quality of food will defiantly be going back and will recommend to our friends and family
Slight mix up with seating, restaurant responded by offering complimentary Kir Royale. Very nice reasonably priced menu, all dishes delicious. Helpful and pleasant staff, overall a good experience.
Good staff - they were always happy to help. The restaurant has a relaxed feel to it with a pleasant atmosphere. All in all a very enjoyable meal.
Solid tasty French fare. Food quality was of a good standard and the service was just alright. Will certainly give it another go in the future.
Very good value and service and clean pleasant atmosphere choice was good for the price in the centre of town been to this cote before will be back
This branch of Côte opened in late 2017. The standard is the same as other branches of Côte (their main presence is in the south of England). The decor is "generic bistro" — restrained, pleasing, and mercifully free of retro ads for Orangina or prints of Robert Doisneau photos. The service is attentive, efficient and friendly without being over-familiar. Customers are not addressed as "you guys" here. The menu consists of French bistro classics and is perfectly executed. Whoever the chef is, he (or she) clearly understands his Escoffier without imagining that he is Escoffier redivivus. The à la carte menus is reasonably priced, while the prix fixe (before 7pm) is a bargain. The wine list, too, is pretty much all French (as one would expect) but offers a choice of decent bottles around the £20 mark — something which is unusual in other "mid-range" eateries. Several wines (about half a dozen of each, red and white, I think) are also offered by the glass. One member of our party avoids gluten *and* dairy, and a gluten-free menu meant he had plenty of choice. Even swapping ice-cream for sorbet was no problem. It isn't a problem, of course, yet that's the sort of request that in other places might result in to-and-fro with the kitchen. At the end of the day, it's a chain. It's never going to win any Michelin stars. But on the other hand, you're unlikely to come away feeling you've been fleeced, and you will always leave having dined well.
Superb food and excellent service by the lovely staff. Who could ask for more? Nice background music at a level which allowed for conversation. Would not hesitate to return and sample the others delights on the menu.
Excellent food with an extensive choice from the menu; excellent and polite service; lovely atmosphere with good space between tables. Thoroughly recommend this restaurant to all.
The food was fine but the service was a bit sloppy. We arrived at 12 and it was quite empty with a lot of staff. We were sat down quickly and then waited a while, a waiter came over and took the full order. Then another one came over to take drinks (which we had ordered with the first waiter). Then the first waiter came back to check the order - two starters and two mains, not hard. Food was okay, well presented, not huge portions. Good coffee
I must remember the next time I book a table that I ask for a specific area to sit. Again, I would prefer to tip rather than have service added.
Excellent service and food. We'll definitely be repeat visitors. The pricing was affordable. We were there to celebrate a birthday and it was a great venue. The music was loud so we were able to talk.
Great service, great food and great drink, what more is there to say. Well done Cote. My guest had never been before and is now a convert.
Delicious lunch from both the lunch menu and prestige lunch menu. Belly pork divine apparently. I didnt get a chance to test it as it was devoured and not shared. Mussel starter and Ham and cheese croque main also devoured by my dad who had been off his food but this meal certainly put him back on the right track. My pate and fish pie was delicious. Apple crumble as good as ever as was the chocolate pot. Experience marked down slightly as when i tried to log on to claim for a future bottle of complimentary wine it was denied as it is only for new customers only. Very disappointing seeing as i have eaten at this restaurant on 3 occasions very recently. Appears loyalty doesnt count for complimentary offers.
We ate there three nights in a row and thought the food was excellent. The staff were great and overall we had a lovely experience there.
Excellent service and good value meal. Not busy on a Tuesday. The 3 course special offer is particularly good value. The menu I caters for Gluten allergy - the meal also arrives with a gluten free flag which makes one feel very assured that the chefs know what they are doing and take care over this particular allergy.
This would have been an average review if the restaurant had not overcharged me twice. First they charged me for another table’s 4 desserts and then instead of refunding the difference they charged me again. Thus ended up paying double for the meal. I have had to make a special trip to the restaurant to sort it out and eventually got a cash refund. Offered 2 Kir Royals as compensation. That is not good enough. Very bad customer service
Good food good service value lunch menu Surrounding/decor lovely and in the city centre My second viisit and I wasn’t disappointed I will be back
Really enjoyed the evening. Food was really nice, portion size was good and very good service. Would definitely go back again. Great location as well
Clean, great service, not too loud, comfy, food came quickly, nice decor, attentive staff, reasonable price. Ordered a light lunch and was surprised at how much food arrived, perfect for what we wanted. Food very tasty
Friendly and attentive staff. Love the setting adjoining the beautiful central arcade. The food was great too, opted for the prestige 3 course set menu and it did not disappoint.
We have dined here several times since it opened and this time the food was not as good as previously. The peppercorn sauce was very bland and the vegetables with the belly pork were very disappointing. The service was very good as usual. We will return but we prefer the early evening menu.
Good food and excellent service from staff who seemed to care.Took a friend for pre theatre meal which was very good value arrived 5.30pm and still made the theatre by 7.00pm
Great choice for coeliac clients, very tasty enjoyed my evening. Good service also friendly and helpful staff also. The only thing is the service charge I don't think this is appropriate.
Highly enjoyable and managed to book a table at short notice for a group of 9 at short notice and at a time to suit us. Very welcoming and efficient staff. A great evening in a lovely setting. Margarette
Amazing food and brilliant service. A generally lovely ambiance and the prices reflected the quality a d presentation. It was good value for money and the menu was extensive and interesting.
Lovely good and excellent service from friendly staff. A favourite restaurant in Newcastle and we will be back as much as possible. Thank you very much
Excellent food and service, would definitely recommend here. I wouldn’t hesitate in returning, the prawns as a starter was delicious and the steak frites as good as any I have had in Paris
Amazing evening spent at Cote. The staff really did go all out for my wife's birthday with free Champagne on arrival and a chocolate cake with candles for desert. Superb starters and amazingly cooked steak mains.
Excellent, friendly service. Food was hot and beautifully cooked. Had a train to catch and they made sure The orders were taken and meals were delivered quickly.
Amazing food and amazing service, would highly recommend and look forward to visiting again soon. Moules frite and belly pork both delicious in a romantic setting
Excellent waiter and good food. Celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary (present from friends) so found the ambiance disappointing as we were the only occupied table and sat opposite the toilets. Many Thanks Karen
Food was lovely however we waited a long time for our food... the manager did come and apologise for this. It seems this was an anomaly and that there usual service is more prompt.
The staff were really lovely and helpful. Food was delicious and a good price. The restaurant was clean and quiet. Will definitely go back. The breakfast deal is particularly good.
Fantastic lunch and good quality food and beautifully presented with very attentive staff. Us and our guest were very impressed with the venue. Keep up the good work and standard and we will be back with other friends very soon.
