Really great place, good food and decent prices and a nice selection on the menu to please everyone. The staff were really friendly too. Will definitely go again.
I’ve been to Cote about 12 times since it opened in Newcastle, but today was the first with my husband for our wedding anniversary. It was excellent. Every course was perfectly cooked, thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. When I booked online I asked for some cocktails on arrival. These were served within two minutes. What was a lovely surprise, was that they were complimentary. We really appreciate this. All in all and excellent lunch.
Food was O u t s t a n d I n g S e r v I c e was excellent, will defiantly be returning,
A very good Côte with very attentive staff who spent a long time checking the menu to ensure that my garlic allergy was catered for. Food well prepared and promptly served
Second visit and first visit proved good enough to repeat. Early menu very good value. Food very good. Service excellent. Would definitely recommend to others.
Delicious cuisine, quality drinks, reasonably priced set menus ... charming & attentive staff ... exquisite decor & lighting ... previously visited for breakfast which is also beyond comparison ...
I had Prawn Gratinée, Steak Tartare and Breton Fish Stew ... and felt right at home (as in "France"). Good food, with a bottle of nice Sauvignon Blanc, excellent dessert (Praline Crépe) and a friendly attentive staff. Why not give the highest "6" mark? I save that for the next visit (very soon!). That's a promise!
Excellent food and service.good ambience Lovely fresh decor. Love the French onion soup. Very pleasant staff.Would recommend to others Central location And easy to find.
In general this is great value for price. The service is good. The quality of the food isn't constant: some meals are really good some are just average.
The food was very nice and the staff extremely attentive - they even poured our wine which is quite a novel experience in this day and age!
Lovely food and great service. We would recommend this restaurant for a great night out. Fantastic atmosphere and lovely food.. well done Cote, looking forward to our next visit.
Terrific menu and wine list that delivers what it promises. Charming ambience, friendly capable service. Moderate price. Details - such as the very readable font used for the menu - that are 'quiet' / in the background contribute subtly to a very pleasant experience.
The service was very good and the main course was appetising The first course could have had the brioche toasted a little more as it was similar to eating pate with bread rather than toast The sparkling wine was very palatable and I would probably return.-
I really enjoyed the visit to Cote brasserie. It's a lovely, elegant setting, with a relaxed ambience, but extremely professional staff, who were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and the range of menus gave plenty of choice.I look forward to teturning to try out more delicious food.
Amazing food and great service, I will definitely be going back. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great place to eat in newcastle.
Beautiful food, (I had the chicken parfait followed by the perfectly cooke duck with Cherry jus), French wine delicious and service top quality! Highly recommended!
Nice ambience, excellent service, good food but we have knocked off one point because of the 35 minute wait for the food which was luke warm rather than hot.
Very poor service - we were ignored numerous times, even when just asking for some water. Food took a long time to arrive. When it did the bacon was missing and egg over cooked.
Great food set in a lovely ambience. Our waiter ,sorry can't remember is name, was excellent. My friends and I have eaten here before and will definitely be back again soon.
Service was excellent as always. Food was good and what we expected. Coffee great. Why can other restaurants not do coffee like this. Well Done
The restaurant was very busy , our table was not ready when we arrived and we had to stand and wait until it was cleared . Thereafter the food was good however we had to remind the staff that we had a free gin and tonic offer which was all confirmed when we booked on line. Generally the restaurant could be managed better.
As always the service , quality of food and ambience was excellent, which is why I always return. Always a good choice across the board
Superb food, excellent atmosphere and early-bird specials are great value for money. The staff are exceptional, friendly but not over-bearing. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone.
Main course was excellent as were the staff. Starter was a bit disappointing, however I didn’t complain - maybe I’m just a bit picky but the soda bread was far too hard
We love this Restaurant! We’ve visited several locations around the UK & consistently have had brilliant experience. The best thing for me is the fact that they cater for Coeliac (gluten free) exceptionally well 😀 even as far as a separate menu, not just a case of checking for ‘allergens’ which is what most eateries offer and can be frustrating- Instead we enjoyed delicious food, served by well trained and knowledgeable staff! Can’t wait to visit again.
We have been to Vote Newcastle several times and each time the service is exceptional and the good is amazing, so we would reformation and recommend it to our friends
This was our first visit to this venue, easy to find and in a most convenientpart of town. Pleasant, helpful staff and delicious food, will be back next week.
Booked online, reminder came. Staff welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy. Food delicious, as usual, and came in good time. As theatregoers, my friends and I are always mindful about time. Great experience all round.
The meal was fine but the service was too slow. We waited 35 minutes between our starter and main course. They did apologise and offered us a reduction of the price of two drinks from our bill.
We visited on a Tuesday night, which meant it wasn't busy so we got seated straightaway. The service was good and we all enjoyed the food, which was good value for money. We will return.
Food was lovely and the service was excellent. I would definitely go back and would recommend this to others. Perfect for pre-theatre dinner or drinks
We went in the evening. Good choices of French menu. We bith ordered the set menu. Two course for around £18.95. I thjnk its just over £20 for hthree course set. Service is brilliant and our waiter is very attentive. Just note that gratuity fee is included in the overall bill.
Pleasant surroundings and staff. Food and service good although the chicken was a little on the tough side. Service was very good coming hot and together..
Lovely meal and atmosphere as usual. We are regular customers and our only minor quibble is that the vegetarian menu has not changed over several months.
always a welcoming place to meet friends. delicious food! I would happily recommend Côte Newcastle to anyone who asks - and have done so on many occasion!
Excellent staff. Food very good. Tasteful setting. On the minus side - music perhaps a little too loud? Only 1 choice of vegetarian dish on both fixed price menus.
Great meal! Lovely food. Good service. It was really hot where our table was so, without being asked, they took us to a more shaded area which suited us fine. I've been several times now and it is always really good.
One of the much better chains, nice conversion, good value pre theatre menu and good service.
Extremely good value - and the best French Onion Soup I've had in a very long time - ANYWHERE! A well-balanced wine list with the wines grouped under style, i.e. light whites, aromatic whites and so on - very good for people who are not "au fait" with wine. The service was most friendly - and apologetic when there was a short delay between courses. I shall definitely recommend the restaurant to friends, and shall visit again (yesterday being my third visit).
Good grub. Service was adequate but lacking any real engagement. This made the proposed ‘optional 12.5% service charge’ tagged to the bill, a bit of a non starter. Heard lots of grizzling from friends about the ‘optional’ gratuity already to bill.
Excellent pre theatre supper venue. Really enjoyed the summer apperatif Pampelle Spritz - very refreshing! Roast belly pork was totally delicious with great choice of wines to accompany our meals. As ever, great service...
Great venue for lunch as the staff are very helpful and the service is efficient (but not rushed) if you need to eat within a given timeframe.
A very good city centre restaurant offering lunch & early evening special menu. Our visit was pre-theatre so at 17:30 it was quiet, but did get busy by the time we left at 19:00. Service was OK, very polite & professional, but they seemed to get harassed as it busied up, and we had to try to catch someone for the bill. Also, we asked for the optional 12% service charge to be left off the bill, as we like to tip separately, however it was included and the bill had to be correct, this has also happened on a previous visit. Food was nice, but the 'specials' menu seems much reduced in choice compared to when they first opened last year. Overall still worth a visit, but a shame the choice has been limited.
The food was excellent and service was very good. My only criticism is that it took 15 minutes before we got some pre dinner drinks.
food and service very good as always quite busy last night but full attention to the fact we were going to theatre so prompt service
There absolutely nothing that could have been improved. The food, style and service was first class, with a very good choice of menu’s and dishes. What ever the occasion I would strongly recommend Cote Brassiere.
Wonderful food with great service. Staff obviously well recruited and trained. The pace of the service was spot on with each course coming at just the right intervals.
A very convenient location for those attending graduation ceremonies in Newcastle. The lunch menu is well priced and total class, we tried fettuccine seafood platter and also the belly pork. One of the oldest breweries in France produces a beer named Meteor, we tried this for the first time and were very impressed. Katie (our Guide Dog puppy) enjoyed the bowl of cold water and of course the attention. Well done to servers and kitchen staff.
Great food. Great staff. Great environment. Not our first visit and definitely not our last. The Newcastle Cote is definitely one of our favourite places to eat.
The food was wonderful - we all ate from the Special menu - and the service right throughout our evening was brilliant - just wish the toilets weren’t down a steep winding staircase!
