Côte Newcastle

The wine was very nice. The service was thoughtful and smiley without being pushy. The starter was very tasty and the bread good. The mains were not as good with the chicken (poulet grille) being a tiny bit dry but very tasty. The fish pie or gratin wasn’t very good. Any sauce had been completely absorbed by the mash which felt overheated. Definitely more potato than fish. The puddings were completely yummy.

Lovely atmosphere, great venue for elegant dining. Delicious food - we had focaccia to share, chicken salad, goats cheese ravioli, the most divine crème brulee and peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.

A birthday treat. Relaxed and great food, particularly good choice for vegetarians. Waiter very knowledgable and helpful. Waited quite a while between courses and would have preferred the tables to be further apart, just a little bit too close for comfort.

Excellent food - there were nine of us & everything was served on time by friendly helpful staff. We had a selection of white/red/rose wines & they were all beautiful & they were the house wines. This was my 4th visit but a 1st for everyone else - always a bit of a worry when your the one that recommended the restaurant but they all loved it. Well done everyone.

We like the restaurant on this occasion the range of seafood was excellent and the food we ordered was also excellent. Service was very good to start with but it appeared to us that the number of staff changed around about 2 o’clock and service/waiting times increased to our frustration. We also do not agree that a 12.5% service charge is reasonable whatever the service so reduced this to 10%.

This restaurant is a little gem set in the centre of Newcastle it’s not the first time we’ve dined here and the consistency of good food excellent service and at a very reasonable price is why we return.

We had the 2 course 10.95 menu. Good service and excellent food. Nice atmosphere.

Such a lovely venue wit a great welcome by lovely staff, food was as delicious as ever. We always have a gorgeous meal food is consistently good. I would not hesitate to recommend Newcastle’s Cote Brasserie to anyone 👍

The set evening menus are really good value - amazing food very reasonably priced. Our waiter noticed my friends birthday card and they wrote happy birthday on her desert and took the price of our drinks off the bill. Second time in two weeks I’ve visited and very impressed. I recommend the Pate and pork tenderloin from the prestige menu although my friend was also impressed with the chicken salad from the early evening menu.

Very enjoyable evening. Great ambiance and great food. Staff were welcoming and efficient and our waiter, Arthur, was very friendly and really in control of his area of service.

Excellent Breton Fish Stew The only criticisms are that we ordered two starters and one came a long time after the other, and the price of the beer - many other restaurants have bigger bottles for a very similar price

A meal for four of us prior to visiting the theatre was perfect in every way.

We enjoyed a pre theatre supper at Cote.The staff are both charming and efficent.The food was delicious and plenty of choice for gluten free diners,which is a big plus. The atmosphere is relaxed but we had plenty of time to get to theatre as service was good.

Great staff and service, but steak too dry and pastry on citron tart very soft, should be crisp. Will go again choice of meals and desserts really good.
