Customer service wasn’t great. There was a service charge of 12.5%, which was optional, however was presented on the bill without asking. Food was poor and no one asked how our food was. I wouldn’t recommend this place, sorry.
Superb Restaurant Week menu in Newcastle with 3 courses for £15. Started and main were delicious. We had the French onion soup which I would definitely get again. I was, however, disappointed that by 7.15pm the dark chocolate mousse had sold out. Due to problems I have with my stomach, there were no other options that I could eat. I explained this to the waiter and expected to be offered a coffee or such as a conciliation. He simply did not acknowledge this which I was very surprised at. On the whole, a lovely meal with high quality food but a disappointment at the end.
Great meal (and wine), great surroundings, great staff. Couldn't have asked for more!
Great food but hate being told to sit in the corner away from other diners! Its positively rude when there is a clear choice of tables.
Great environment! The service and food was excellent, really good value for money
Lovely restaurant, cosy and friendly, food and service cannot be faulted, we will return.
Food good as always. Room upstairs was cold so we left without ordering coffees. Stairs were very slippy with bits of food & grease, needs addressing or someone could slip .
Great food, lovely staff..I always enjoy going to Côte and will be back soon.
Fantastic night, great food, lovely staff especially our Spanish waitress
Our server (the man from Belfast/giant's causeway, so sorry we didn't get your name!) Was fantastic, made us feel very welcome and responded to our needs brilliantly. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed our meal. Thank you very much!
Great food, friendly and attentive staff, intimate and enjoyable atmosphere
Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and staff very welcoming...but naughty to be charged 20% gratuity without asking. Third time it’s happened. I’d rather give the tip voluntarily.
Well worth £15 for 3 courses. Food was top quality and staff were very attentive. Will definitely return.
Lovely food, the right atmosphere, and very good service. Cannot fault it.
Food was absolutely excellent staff were great and friendly lovely venue. Disappointed in the optional 12:5% tip added onto the bill. I appreciate that you value your staff however I don’t think it is made clear enough as we left a tip as well!!!
Good food, good service, lovely interior. Will definitely go again.
We had the £15 restaurant week menu. As always, every single item in each course was delicious. There was four of us and we deliberately all chose a different thing. The staff are always lovely too. A really lovely night out.
First time visiting for restaurant week, the deal was very good value for money. Food was lovely, decor and atmosphere was great. Food came out maybe a little too quickly. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Would definitely return 😊
Very good service all staff were very friendly and the food was really good.
Warm and welcoming staff. Food was great all round a lovely dining experience
Our visit for lunch was delightful again .Staff ,service ,food very good
Fabulous food, fabulous service, fabulous everything! We will definitely be back
Lovely waitress and overall great experience. Would definitely come again and recommend
Attentive helpful staff. Gorgeous food, great choice something for everyone. We will be back.
Every aspect of our meal worked perfectly - again! The Prestige Menu is a bargain, as are the Standard Lunch and the à la Carte menu which so far has always included a free glass of Kir. We meet up regularly for lunch, enjoy the atmosphere at Côte, the very civilised, friendly and obliging service, the delicious food - always - and the occasion the meal affords us for real enjoyment thanks to all the foregoing. We always leave with a smile, feeling all is well with the world and are grateful for our life-enhancing visits to Cote which we always appreciate greatly. Having left the restaurant only a few hours ago, we are already looking forward to the next opportunity to occupy 'our table' again. Many thanks to all involved!
Lovely food and great service what more can you ask of a restaurant
We visited during restaurant week and found the whole experience to be excellent. We were shown to a nice table with linen napkins, I hate paper napkins unless you are at kfc or similar. The food was well presented and cooked the way we ordered. We will be back 😋
We dined in the £15 pp lunchtime menu (January deal) Varied choice of dishes on the menu. The food had excellent flavours and quantity was quite sufficient. The red house wine was acceptable. Service was very good, very attentive and pleasant, professional staff. Overall a very enjoyable dining experience. Dishes that deserve mentioning. Which are all! French Onion Soup - Delicious, best I've had in a long time. Goats Cheese starter - Again delicious, nice salad and dressing, goats cheese was very good. Steak - cooked to my liking and really tender. Beef stroganoff - Very tasty sauce, flavoursome, beef was very tender. Creme Caramel - To die for..!!! Ice Cream with Chocolate Sauce - I normally dislike sweets but this desert was a winner all round. Will definitely visit again very soon.
Gorgeous food, first time coming & will definitely be back!!
A very pleasant lunch, things notably good included the main course of pork loin, the excellent and friendly service, speed of delivery and decent quantities. Items to improve were few...a badly chipped soup bowl was a little off putting, the french onion soup was tasty but difficult to eat with only a spoon. Diners on the next table commented likewise. It’s construction could be better. The chocolate mousse was light and delicious but cried out for a half strawberry and a couple raspberries or blueberries sitting on top. A lovely way to spend a lunchtime, I hope the comments are taken as they are meant, which is to be helpful...
Excellent as usual. Food gorgeous. The service was exceptional, the guy serving us was extremely friendly and helpful.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and very tasty food! We will be back!
My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal last night. The food was really good and the service attentive without being over the top. Thank you.
lovely food - but was thrown at us to get us out quickly - 35 mins for three courses
Excellent meal, the Calamari was one of the best I’ve had! Some lovely menu choices for the £15 restaurant week deal, would highly recommend. Waiters & waitress provided a great service. Thank you for a great evening!
First time we have been to Cote and it was fantastic. Every course was amazing, great value for money. Great wine list and server was amazing. Lovely atmosphere in the place also. Only snag was table very close to the next one so was nearly sat on the next guests knee, but it was busy.
Wonderful! We always have a great time at Cote Brasserie. The staff are all delightful, the restaurant is such a lovely place to be and the food is always amazing. It is seriously good food. Just love it!
Live our restaurant week menu great service and lovely ambience
Excellent ! ! ! First visit but really enjoyed it - I will definitely be back....
Amazing food, good selection of variety of dishes, portion size just right to feel satisfied but not overly full, lovely service as well
First timers. Good service. Friendly and accommodating waiters. Great food. Set aside in a window booth which was nice and secluded but was too close to the entrance for a slight draught. Didn’t detract too much from the experience and will definitely be going back again!
It was our first time at Côte I would recommend, the food was beautiful.
Excellent menu choice for Newcastle Restaurant Week food quality and service were excellent We shall return as it’s one of our favourite restaurants
Lovely experience, great and attentive staff - thoroughly enjoyable evening and excellent food
Beautiful food and wine. Great service. Would recommend to family and friends.
Food was ok, but I expected three courses. I didn't want dessert, so I asked for two starters. He asked the manager who said no. It's just a bit silly if a customer asks this just say no. What's the difference? 1 pound? 2 pounds? And It made me feel like I'm not coming back after this first experience. And honestly, I eat a lot outside. It's just, don't earn that pound and make me happy. I'm sorry but this is how I feel it
We visited Cote Brasserie for the first time during restaurant week and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food, menu and waiting staff were all great and we hope to go back very soon.
Food was very good, chicken very moist and mussels not over cooked. Staff attentive and very helpful
First visit to the restaurant as part of Restaurant Week . The food was beautiful and the staff very attentive even though the restaurant was busy. Our lovely waiter Ivan made sure we were ok , thank you to all including the Chefs
