Côte Newcastle

We have always enjoyed eating in branches of Cote when visiting London - especially the one in Blackheath where our daughter was a regular customer! So we were delighted when the Newcastle branch opened - if only there were another one in Ponteland where we live! The restaurant is beautifully laid out with comfortable and well spaced tables and attracts customers of all ages which is a nice change, as older people are less well catered for in the city centre! The food last night was excellent and mains portions were generous. Service also good. Fairly expensive, but worth it. We had a lovely evening, once again justifying our faith in the Cote "brand". Amazing food and a fantastic welcome from the staff x salad was drenched in oil so couldn't eat it but the main dish was amazing x

Great night with friends. Good food everyone had a different starter but the french onion soup was the favourite, the steak was popular for the main course, the chocolate mousse was to die for and the service was very good.

Food , surroundings and service very good, disappointed we weren't offered the complimentary rhubarb gin cocktail mentioned on website (we ate lunch specials menu)

I always enjoy the food here, I recommend the salmon or beef tartar for starters as they are amazing and the duck for mains.

I eat regularly here but first time in the evening. Good intimate surroundings. Meal was served within 20 minutes. Good food. Just the right amount. Salmon was cooked just right. My colleague had parmentier and again well cooked. Food well presented. Waiting staff were very efficient and unobtrusive. Top experience as usual

Nice atmosphere: decor and table settings. Food was very tasty and well presented. Overall a lovely dining experience, calamari starter and belly pork main was yummy.

A really enjoyable experience, lovely food in nice surroundings. Service very attentive and knowledgeable. Restaurant well place if you are going to the Theatre Royal. Blood orange martini's are excellent.

It’s always a pleasure to dine at Cote in Newcastle. It’s a nice restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is always excellent. The French onion soup starter and belly pork main course are well worth a try. They also provide a separate gluten free menu, which is great for my wife as she is coeliac. I can strongly recommend core for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Very good food and service, only slight problem was that some of the dishes proved to be a little on the cool side. Hats off to waiting staff.

Good but not great good food and quite high quality it's a chain but nothing special,a birthday meal with a free drink worth 4.95 but had to order off a la carte not much of an offer

The creme caramel was delicious and the service was also great. £11.50 2 course deal is perfect for us, we will definitely be back. The decor is beautiful too

This was my second visit and it was equally as good as the first. It is a very welcoming restaurant with a very nice ambience. Service is consistently good and the food is excellent and reallly good value all round. I will be back and will recomend it to friends.

Absolute perfection. Loved it here. Great friendly staff and lovely seating. Gorgeous food and offer a gluten free menu . Couldn't fault a thing. It's how a restaurant should be. We'll be back to Cote Newcastle soon!

Saturday lunchtime special with friends. It was a good price; meal and service excellent (I had the loin of pork for a main course which was delicious) and lovely ambience.

The Cote experience never fails. Very obliging staff, ex cuisine and smashing ambience. Even Guide Dog Katie remembers her previous times and just loves certain members of staff.

We had an excellent cocktail to start, followed by french blackpudding with a poached egg which was full of flavoure. The comfit duck leg was delicious, crispy skin and the meat fell off the bone.An excellent meal

Thoughtful, helpful staff. Food great choice and flavours and good value. Only minor point would be to say food could be delivered hotter to the table.

Had a lovely meal in very pleasant surroundings. Lovely greeting and service was very good. Did not feel rushed but comfortable throughout the meal.

Great tasting food from a varied menu. Very friendly and helpful staff, with delicious wines that complimented our meal choices. It's become our favourite regular place.

Fabulous food. Will definitely be back. We've converted some friends who are now fans also. The only negative was that we booked using the voucher for a free bottle of wine, and were disappointed to learn that we couldn't have it with the set menu.

First visit to Cote food was excellent staff were lovely and very helpful seating very well set out thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We would recommend Cote to our family and friends and will defiantly be coming back again.

Good choice of food and drink. Excellent service from all the staff. Only problem is the noise levels when tables of more than two as the acoustics are poor
