The Prawn gratin was just warm and not gratin.... just had pieces of bread crust in it. The Muscadet was poor quality and I come from the the Loire valley where it’s made, so I truly know what it should be like. The saw was poor. I actually think it wasn’t sea bass. It had the texture and flavour of plaice....seabass is meaty and is a substantial fish... I received what seemed to be the end of the tail and was so thin and small it barely constituted a meal. I would have never have served this as Seabass to-anybody. You should change your description to say Cote: Disappointment in every fork.

The moment I step through the door it is as though I were in a French brasserie, such is the decor. And then the food & wine underline my first impressions. I am transported. I could even have had a pastis - perhaps next time.

Just what I expect from Côte. Efficient friendly service and good value well cooked food. Even during a relatively quiet time - we ate at 5pm - the restaurant had a nice ambience despite the music being somewhat soporific.

We arrived very early for our reservation. This was not a problem, the manager showed us to a table and he was was helpful and friendly, along with all the staff, who all had smiles on their faces and were very attentive. Food was excellent and a good price, in particular the house red.

Everything was perfect including the food. Our party of 8 arrived late due to traffic problems so we switched to an outside table which was perfect. Good value for the money. We’ll be back soon. Thankyou.

We enjoyed the set menus - one a little cheaper than the other - for a pre-theatre dinner. Service was excellent and prompt and the set menu options were very good. We have already booked for our next theatre visit!

I booked a table for two at one o’ clock and when I asked if we could sit outside in the sun at that time, was told it was first come ,first served . ....so what is the point of booking.? Just to turn up seems to be the order of the day .... Once served, lovely food, lovely waitress. Great value.

Appalling! Cold, unfriendly, unengaging, robotic staff. Starters ok although I could not taste the crab in the crab mayonnaise. However both main courses, chicken and sea bass, were over cooked, dried out and looked like they had been kept warm for ages. Side of peas was cold. Never again!

The food is always great, however when we went on mother's Day my wife's fillet steak looked rather small in comparison to my Mum's. We politely enquired if it looked right and the manager/maitre d' advised (he was quite brusque) all steaks are 7oz and that because the steak is well done it had shrunk. However, when my wife cut into the steak it was only medium (she'd asked for well done) so I'm not sure this argument stacks up. We decided not to bother sending it back as it was mother's Day and getting another would take time and put a dampener on the evening. In my opinion the maitre d'/manager should have asked if my wife was happy and asked if she wanted to send it back, he gave neither option, he simply made a statement of fact that the steak is 7oz, hence why service is only marked as average. Other than that we had a lovely meal.

Very pleasant waitress, delightful rhubarb martini, delicious bread, food very good generally, a delightful evening with friends. Only tiny detraction from the ( very high) standard I have come to rely on from Cote, my minute steak was a little over cooked ( not pink as promised) and my frites a little flabby, as if they had been kept warm...shame because I usually love the minute steak at Cote. Everything else was variously delicious, and Cote remains one of my go to restaurants for meetings friends.

We are regular visitors to Cote Kingston and as always the food and service were exceptional. The restaurant is always busy but because unlike many restaurants they have plenty of waiting staff, service is fast and the food is very well presented. The addition of the “men in black” who bring the food from the kitchen add more to the speed and efficiency of the service and set the restaurant apart from their competitors.

Our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Appreciate it was Mothers' Day and the restaurant was very busy, but we were only informed on arrival that a time limit of 1.5 hours seating at the table was in operation. Food was generally delicious, but my mum's potatoes were very under-cooked, almost hard.

We enjoyed the meal and drinks but were surprised by the addition of 12% added on as my wife gave a further gratuity of £15 ! We were not advised of the already gratuity added on? Yes it was our fault but as we are an aged couple we would think the waitress could have alerted us? But we enjoyed the meal but will usé Cote again but be more wary of this mistake. Thank you mdwyer
