We had the lunch/early supper menu which had a good choice and worked well for group of friends (7) meeting up. Nice friendly staff and professional service all contributed to a very enjoyable night out without any stressful moments. A very nice feeling that we could all relax and rely on having a good time. Small point - if one is short the banquet seats feel very low in relation to the table. I was going to ask for a cushion but could see any around.
As ever good food in a pleasant environment. Cote can be relied to deliver whichever restaurant used - refreshing that standards are high and consistent across a chain.
We had a lovely meal with great service and a very reasonable price. The atmosphere in the restaurant is suitable for friends, special occasions or romantic meals. Would definitely recommend.
Very good service from friendly and efficient staff. Excellent food as usual. Creme caramel to die for! Sadly the restaurant was not as full as usual - although better than being overcrowded!
Food was good however service was slow due to understaffing. This is the first time we have visited this branch and we are a big fan of the set lunch menu so I hope they will improve on the service.
veal escalope slightly unseasoned and slightly greasy - has the recipe changed for the steak tartare as we noticed a very high percentage of capers (approx 20% of content) Waitress was excellent
Friendly and attentive service from all staff. Very good choices on the menu to suit all tastes. Food standard excellent as always. Highly recommend for lunch and dinner.
Fairly satisfied. A bit of a default choice for our group. There was a bit of a muddle with my friend (a bit of a wine buff) about domaine and grape information, and a coffee we sent back because the milk was off. We had the set pre-7 o'clock meal which was still £35 a head including, admittedly expensive, wine.
Service was rather slow and when my main course of lamb arrived it was rare rather than the medium I asked for. My wife's order of duck was overcooked meaning it was hard and dry. Covent Garden Cote is much better in every aspect.
An exceptional experience. Staff were attentive, polite and very friendly. The food was exquisite, boasting of different flavours and spices. Never have been disappointed with Cotê, we will most definitely be back.
My partner and I were in Islington to see a play at Almeida and decided to have dinner at Cote en route. We were welcomed warmly and had a delicious dinner that didnt break the bank.Ive never had steak at Cote before but my minute steak was absolutely delicious and was served with chips and a small green salad. My partners had half a chicken served with potato gratin and green beans. These dishes were both from the Weekend Specials menu and at £10.95 were fantastic quality as well as being tasty.
Very relaxed atmosphere, with attentive staff. Were able to select a table that we liked. The food on the specials early evening set menu was excellent as always and good value.
Cote on Islington Green is always reliable, reasonably priced and the staff are particularly good. I think Cote is better at straightforward dishes and the sirloin steak with bearnaise sauce on my last visit was extremely good.
When in Islington always go to Cote Islington Green, never disappointed , the food excellent The staff excellent too, that's all I can say it's fabulous
A very nice meal. Food was great and staff were all attentive but not in your face. We both had the pork belly which was cooked perfectly.
The service was very good. We had the 'specials' for main courses and the confit duck was excellent. We do go there quite often and even celebrated a 70th birthday there, which went very well indeed.
Good service from several different staff. Decent food...but some dishes were not as hot as one would expect. Good quality house wine. Ambience spoilt by a group of 8 very noisy diners some of whom appeared to have pre loaded with alcohol. Management ought to be alert to such groups and ensure that they do not detract from the enjoyment of fellow diners. Meal and wine was reasonably priced with service charges guaranteed to staff.
We had a very pleasurable lunch and the staff were very helpful and accommodating as one of us wanted to mix and match the lunch menu!
The service and ambience were great. Not the best tasting steak I have had, but overall a very pleasant experience. We had champagne, a starter, mains, a bottle and puddings for just over £100.
Very good value for three courses on the early evening set menu, with plenty of choice, and very quick and friendly service, although that should not have been difficult as the restaurant was quiet at the time. Egg (sic) Benedict was very good; Risotto Vert had plenty of crunch and taste in the vegetables, but was very peppery.
Excellent and all the more so because of your offer of a reward of a free bottle of wine. Great menu and friendly and helpful service.
Food consistently of good standard with a service to match. Felt very welcomed upon arrival and service was attentive throughout. Even as we left the same gentleman who welcomed us, asked if everything was satisfactory and genuinely cared. Very impressed!
I always return to Cote for the excellent food, friendly staff and great value for money. It's definitely my go-to restaurant when I fancy something special. Thanks, Hel.
Disappointed. I booked online and mentioned a birthday for one of our party of three, this was totally ignored. We use Cote a great deal and my wife usually has Fish Parmetier. This time there was not much Fish but many leeks which are not usually present! Not our normal satisfaction and as a birthday, a let down!
Good service, and venue, friendly staff. Nice food and atmosphere, and reasonably priced, I would recommend - all in all a good evening - sorted :-)
First time I have used Islington branch but aware of Cote elsewhere. It came well up to expectation with a very helpful knowledgable head waiter or manager. Bit pricey but good steaks.
The food very good - especially the crab mousse full of delicious white crab meat. The wine recommended by the restaurant was also an excellent one, ditto the desserts. Service very efficient and attentive. The restaurant was almost full but the tables well spaced out so not noisy, altogether a very pleasant atmosphere. Well worth the visit.
Lovely food. Charming and efficient staff. The rooms cool and comfortable. The special menu has sufficient variety to offer a good choice including vegetarian options.
Food was very good Main courses excellent. No dessert choice for dairy free. Service really good. Restaurant spacious. Toilets are pristine. Good 😊 lace to eT.
The salmon we ordered tasted like burn and we could hardly eat it. The service was slow. Other than that we had a good night.
Scrumptious menu, easy reservations online, friendly attentive staff, and consistent meals with several locations. We enjoy it very much as an extra special dinner put with not-outrageous prices.
My partner and I had a very enjoyable dinner,...food and service was excellent and we shall be visiting again,..however for a French type restaurant not to have a brandy was a sin,..!
Usually have top notch service at Cote yet we were waiting ages for our main course - around 35 minutes! Got an apology from the manager and a glass of wine.
A reasonably priced brasserie in the heart of Islingtion. Pleasant, friendly staff & tasty food with a good choice on the menu for all, including vegetarians.
Two of our meals (steak & salad) arrived together, but we had to wait a further 10 mins for my daughter's fish goujons without a reason
Good food and very good service. We have eaten here for many years and on Friday evening one of the waiters we knew was managing the place. Good to see Cote rewards their staff with promotions.
The summer menu was a little disappointing but overall the choice with the specials was good and good vale for money. The staff were very helpful and service very good.
Excellent food as always and excellent service very accommodating and very friendly staff always recommend cote to all friends and family will be returning very soon.
lovely meal served promptly. Would highly recommend the Tuna Salad Nicoise! Very tastefully decorated, with a view over Islington Green. Extremely efficient and attentive staff.
It is always a joy to visit one of the Cotes restaurant, with its impressive menu, beautifully cooked and artistically arranged for service. With a warm smile, the charming waiters welcome visitors and do everything in their power to ensure a pleasurable evening. Have been several times and never let down by the high quality of food and service. We will be back!
Excellent as usual. Good atmosphere. Great food. A very pleasant evening The veal was succulent. The house wine was excellent. The Summer Fruit Pavlova was sharp and sweet at the same time.
Excellent food and friendly, but not intrusive, service. We arrived early but that was no problem and we were seated in the window so could see what was going on! We chose off the a la carte menu and had drinks as well so that put the bill up - we will definitely re-visit for special occasions.
The waiter tried to sit me next to to the only messy/uncleaned up table! It was a totally empty restaurant ! Food was fine though
Very good service as usual in this restaurant. Menu was interesting and food was excellent. House wine was reasonable in taste and price. Overall, very good value and great experience.
The Cote de Boeuf was sadly somewhat overcooked, dry and not particularly warm. The service was very good though, and the staff friendly and attentive.
Good food, reasonably priced and excellent service. Our waitress was great and really helpful. The restaurant is very central in Islington and has a nice atmosphere
Excellent environment, service and quality of food. The location is ideal. Close to all the attractions of Central London but without the Theatre crowds. This is our third visit and the quality has been sustained.
Good service and nice atmosphere. Food was lovely and excellent value for money (particularly the weekday set menu). Also appreciate the great selection (and separate menu) for gluten-free/coeliac choices. Selection of wines by the glass also pretty impressive for a high street chain. Great lunch!
As always, the meal was very good and service great. I know I can depend on Cote for a most enjoyable evening. Will probably return next week.
The food was delicious.. the service was first class.. and the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Just what you need before heading along to Sadlers Wells. Thank you.
