Food good as always, service was v slow and the dimming of the lights twice over the course of the eve is rather annoying. Very good value.

Great food, wonderful service from friendly staff. I’ve been many times and have never been disappointed. The menu is typical for a French bistro but there’s a good choice. Highly recommended.

Good choice menu and great food as usual. 1 star less as it took a very long time to get the bill and then pay it.

Sadly not a good experience last night at Islington. My guest and I chose 2 courses from the set menu. Starter arrived promptly and delicious but then had to wait 35mins for the Breton chicken salad. When plates arrives the lettuce was warm and tired, very few chicken bits and hardly any dressing. We asked for more chicken and dressing which took a while to arrive. Chicken was unappetising and dressing was some sort of mayonnaise. Very disappointing as the place was not busy at all. I love Cote and go to different ones around London very often, always an enjoyable experience but not on this occasion.

pleasant meal, liver pate starter is always good, my Breton fish stew was tasty if a little bit spicy (chillies), however my companion's boeuf bourguignan was disappointingly bland and tasted mostly of chorizo sausage and was not enjoyed; service was super slow, so we gave up on trying to order dessert, at 7.30 on a Monday evening this is inexplicable

Attentive service, good and affordable menu choices. Reasonable portions. Nice place for early dinner before cinema or theatre dates. We will definitely come back again.

Lovely staff! They gave a very warm welcome, allowing us to delay our table for drinks outside before we had our meal. They were attentive throughout and food was delicious. A little pricey, but a nice night.

A lovely evening, delicious food and very good value. Friendly, relaxed service - although food was served promptly. I've visited a few of the Cote chain in London and they are very consistent and reliable.

Had a lovely evening but weren't made aware of staff change over and staffing for the level of business wasn't sufficient. Mains were tasty, drinks service a bit slow.

Always dependable. Always much the same. The food was good and there is a good (long!) wine list - as usual the choice of beers is very limited. The waiting staff were good without being annoying or intrusive.

Cote is great. It's not haute cuisine, but you can get in and out of there in under an hour after a perfectly decent two course lunch for under £15.

Very attentive staff but why no cheap 2/3 course meal and puddings are over-priced. Good ambience. Chicken was very tasty and the free Kir much appreciated

The usual reliable meal at this restaurant. My wife and I are not very imaginative and tend to stick to what we know and lije. The French Onion soup is always good as is the half Breton Chicken. Service can be a little slow but we had a very heloful waitress, Emilia, who was attentive and friendly.

The food was very good and the service. Is a pleasant bistro type atmosphere and all the customers seemed cheerful and happy. The specials and table de hote menu changes monthly. The only thing I would recommend as a regular visitor is that some different desserts are added /changed more often.

Very good meal and excellent service on this visit. Dishes included boeuf Bourgogne, moules frites, duck (which was a little tough) and pork belly. The cheese board and desserts of tarte au Citroen and praline crepes were all enjoyed too. An excellent bottle of wine rounded off a lovely meal

Staff were very friendly and efficient, food was really good, wine excellent for the price. The atmosphere, for a busy Saturday night, was also really good. For a chain restaurant it did feel like an individual experience. Would definitely recommend.

Food and service very good. Cote is always reliable, but the Islington branch is especially good because of the standard of its cooking and the friendliness of its staff. I have given it one point below top marks because there are better places, but they cost three times as much. If I take price into account, then top marks it is.

we dined from the March specials menu, fish soup was bland and a bit disappointing, duck confit came with very salty cabbage (no potatoes, we were expecting a layer of mash beneath the cabbage) but the duck itself was tasty, good service as always

Perfect staff, place and food. Requested something special for mother's day. The hostess kindly brought out a beautiful bouquet of flowers to my mum. We come for every family special occasion . We all agree this is our favourite restaurant in London. Thank you Côte Islington! You guys are the best.

A delightful evening with delicious food. A good wine recommendation by the waiter who was attentive, friendly and professional. The only issue was that we had rather confused messages from him regarding which menu we could select from and whether or not we were eligible for a free kir royale. All resolved though. Ambience was good although being Monday evening, it was relatively quiet. I remain a dedicated Cote fan! Thank you.

Really friendly and helpful staff. It was very busy when we arrived and they only had a table by the door available initially but they gave us the choice to sit there with a drink until another table became free. The food was amazing too. Would highly recommend.

Service was great, and the food was excellent (I had the prawn starter which is my favourite dish and it was better than I've had in any other Cote). The only slight criticism is that once the bill had come, it took a while for someone to come and take our payment. Otherwise a great dining experience.

Very attentive service as we were right on time for the Theatre. Food was delicious but not hot and I specifically mentioned this when I ordered. I like a medium cooked fillet steak but would like it and the fried served hot not tepid. Sadly that ruined the meal and we did not have time to send it back due to our tight deadline

Excellent service. Staff are very well trained and extremely helpful. Food is consistently good as per all branches of Cote Brasserie. A well chosen and well priced menu. My favourite restaurant chain. Have booked Sunday lunch in the Hampstead branch this week. Am a regular customer.
