Côte Haywards Heath

Very surprised to see all the tables laid up as I thought the guidance was that cutlery and glass wear would be brought to the table upon arrival with single use napkins and sachets of salt and pepper. The staff seemed to congregate in a noisy huddle and one of them did not have his face mask on. My coffee sat on the side getting cold while all this was going on. A glass was broken on a shelf where other glasses were housed beneath none of them were removed or cleaned. I think it would be wise to have a designated computer/till operator as many unwashed hands touched this. I do believe that the staff were diligent in table cleaning but all of this is in vain if hands are not regularly cleaned. Consequently we didn't stay for our meal.

The food was great, hot and delicious. Hardly any wait time for food. The staff were lovely. Attentive and couldn’t do enough for us and our little one.

While appreciate you are very busy at the moment,we did feel that waiting just over an hour was rather too long.. When the food came,1 meal was returned a cause it was cold while mine could have been hotter but I was hungry by then so ate it anyway. We did wonder if it had been ready earlier and left on the side. Food was good as usual.

Food and service very good and professional. Staff attentive and working hard to serve guests. I really enjoyed my food and will be back soon.

Great atmosphere, food and service as always. Edem (big cheese) is an amazing waiter and made our evening. Thank you for making my mum's Birthday meal special and for her bday cheese platter :). It was my parents 1st evening out since lockdown and they felt very comfortable and enjoyed the whole evening. Edem... follow your dreams as my mum says ;) x

Positives were that the girl who served us was lovely. Really friendly and welcoming. The food was also good. Otherwise it was really poor in terms of service. It took 20 minutes after being seated to have our drinks orders taken. It took 1hr 20 mins to get any water after asking 3 times. The food came relatively quickly after ordering. Unfortunately it took another 10 minutes to be offered desert menus after sitting with our finished plates in front of us. 45 minutes later (over 2 hours after we first sat down) we were asked if we wanted deserts. In the 2hrs 15 minutes we were in the restaurant we were only offered one drink and had to ask several times for water. Luckily we were not in a rush. It was however, the slowest service I have ever received.

Really terrific - we have always found this restaurant consistently good, both food and service. This was our first visit back since reopening and we were not disappointed, a pleasure to see the lovely, friendly staff once again and most importantly the food, as ever, is still excellent. Really enjoyable and would thoroughly recommend - a faultless 3-course meal for two. High street chain restaurants tend to have a bit of a bad reputation, This branch of Cote consistently punches above it’s weight. Excellent.

We had a lovely evening with superb food and very attentive service. Despite there being only two of us we felt so relaxed and comfortable that we stayed for a whole 6 hours! Despite this being well after everyone else left, there was no pressure from staff to leave and therefore our evening out finished on a high note, Thank you the staff who were courteous, funny, took time to chat and left us feeling like Cote was the absolute best choice for our first night out after lockdown.

We always enjoy are meals at Cote and it was good to see how busy they were. The only drawback with it being so busy is the noise level as it is difficult to have a good conversation at your own table.

From the moment we arrived the staff were excellent, the food very good. an excellent meal.

Had the fillet steak with garlic butter - was so nice! And then the praline crepes for dessert which were lovely! Good and quick service.

The restaurant felt like a dated hotel. I can’t imagine the decor has been updated in the last 20 years. On at least 3 occasions, servers nearly crashed into a member of our party with a full tray. Any time we asked a member of staff a question, it felt like too much effort to get an answer. While we benefited from the Eat Out scheme, if we had paid full price, the food was sub par. I ordered the lobster, which has obviously not fresh. I’m glad I’ve got a good set of teeth! Quite shockingly, even a steak was overcooked. Safe to say, we won’t be returning.

Cote in Haywards Heath is my local regular eat-out place. I am always welcomed very warmly. Food is reliably excellent- much the best of the chain restaurants.

We visited Cote for the first time and the experience was fantastic. The food was marvellous as was the service. We managed to book a table during the government’s ‘eat out to help out’ scheme so it really was value for money. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent customer service. We were really well looked after. The restaurant was clean and well managed.

Our waiter Victor was stupendous and sorted out a small problem promptly. Really good pork belly - good chef work. Thank you Ps heard some elderly folk complaining how cool it felt in the back room

I was disappointed with my meal and having been to Cote a few times, it’s always been good food.

Delicious food and amazing service from a really friendly team, all wearing visors. It was our first time out since lockdown and felt super clean, with plenty of space between tables. Looking forward to coming back soon.

It was so good to be back. Food, service and cleanliness were all spot on. I really enjoyed my meal and will be back soon. It is so good to eat out once more and any changes made were not noticed by me. Back to normal and I love Cote.

Great service and lovely food. The steak was superb. A really enjoyable experience.

Unfortunately "Eat Out" was in progress and when we arrived there was a queue which we joined. The couple in front had a 8pm sitting and it was now 8:20, ours was 8:30 sitting. It was my wife's birthday so to perhaps spend half an hour queueing on the pavement and getting a table 9 Ian was not on. We left.

Really good food and service for a reasonable price. Only downside was that there is not a menu available that stated the main allergens making it difficult to choose my food.
