First visit and won't be the last. Lamb rump on the specials menu excellent as were our other dishes. Staff attentive. Room a little noisy but manager says plans in place to baffle.
A good dining experience. Vibrant atmosphere though can get quite noisy in the open plan environment. Food was excellent, particularly the pork belly and also the rib-eye steak. Attentive staff throughout. Would eat here again.
It was our first time at Côte Harpenden and it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We found the menu interesting and different, the service good and we came out feeeling very happy!
Really lovely evening, excellent food and service! Gluten free menu excellent! Highly recommend! Atmosphere was great and the menu provided a good range of choices!
Really great food - very good value for money. It was orginally the old post office which has been refurbished to a high standard. Tastefully and comfortably designed. The staff were efficient, friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend.
Great food and good service but it is quite noisy and the tables are too close together. If they fix those two problems, it will get top marks.
We enjoyed very much the two-hour dinner for two. Menu provides for a wide enough range of dishes with a French orientation, including good value French wines. Service was very responsive and delivered with 'personality'. The slight downside for diners of our 70+ years is the acoustics which can be breezily loud with a full house. Definitely return though as it's an excellent addition to our local dining scene
Our first visit but we had heard good reports fron friends. We found the evening excellently done, food and service. Relaxed atmosphere. A wide choice of food and drink. Encore.
We had a lovely meal my steak was great our waiter was attentive. My only criticism is that the restaurant itself seems rather cramped but I guess you have made the best of the space available to you. Overall we had a great night and we will definitely be back in fact we are already booked for end of January.
The food and service were up to the usual Cote standard but the restaurant was incredibly noisy, making it difficult across the table, the acrostics are deadfull and the the dacour bland compared to other Cote Brasserie's, we will not be returning.
Service very friendly, helpful and attentive. The wide choice of gluten-free food on the menu was excellent and the food was well cooked and very tasty. We both enjoyed it and will come back. The only issue was that in common with many modern restaurants the hard surfaces on the floor, walls and ceiling meant that the noise level was high when the restaurant filled up, making conversation more difficult.
Not great food for veggies. Good atmosphere and layout. Friendly staff and plenty of options for the meat eaters. Good choice of wines. Pricey as there wasn't a deal on.
Friendly prompt service with a very tasty brunch. They have tastefully converted the old Post Office. The staff are attentive. I like the black pudding!
Really lovely and much needed new addition to the Harpenden food scene. Staff are lovely and food is exactly what you’d expect from Côte. Excellent all round.
Waitress was excellent, food very good but tables very small for 4 people! Won’t stop us from going again! Service was excellent even though restaurant very busy!
There was an excellent choice of food, and we ate from the early evening menu which was great value for two courses. Quick service. Excellent food. Great Atmosphere.
Good new restaurant in Harpenden - so needed instead of another Italian chain. Good menu, nice food, excellent service and very reasonable price. Worth visiting
We have now had lunch here about 5 times. Lunch menu very good value. Good steaks cook as requested. Wine by the glass too expensive.
We had the sirloin steak and Breton fish stew as main course - would highly recommend both. Delicious meal, good atmosphere and great service. Looking forward to next visit to Cote Harpenden.
Busy restaurant 3 out of 4 meals were great - unfortunately 2 fillet ordered only one arrived the other was the cheaper steak - as soon as they realised mistake offered new and took £28 off the bill - Also asked for non alcoholic beer which they did not gave- so only soft drinks and coffee for designated driver - think should be offered on menu- waiting staff were efficient and unobtrisive but restaurant is very loud so conversation was limited - I believe the soundproofing is something they are looking to address . Would still go again Though - all new places have teething issues
Very poor service, we arrived early and had 2 hrs for our table which is plenty of time but we were rushed every second we were in there and made to feel completely unwelcome, a total shame really as I had looked forward to the meal. Main meal was cold and the staff couldn’t have put it in front us quicker, desert cold when it should have been hot. 3 courses in 1 hr, they really needn’t have rushed us.
We visited on Saturday 23rd December 2017. Excellent food, great atmosphere. Jamie (waiter) friendly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Looking forward to visiting in the New Year
Great tasty food with a good range of options. Service excellent. Restaurant Needs soundproofing measures to be added as on a busy night, conversation requires full volume.
It was easy to book on line then to extend the numbers by calling in. The manager was very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. We could not fault the food at all and one local member of our party said it was the best he had eaten anywhere in Harpenden. We would definitely go back. It can be a little noisy.
The French onion soup had clearly been microwaved in the pots as was Molton hot and unable to eat for over 10 mins. One main meal did not arrive until 10 mins after the rest. Frito portions were tiny!.. Had to ask for milk with coffees and when brought left on table with no interaction. Really disappointed sadly. We advised when bill arrived and said we did not feel able to pay 12.5% service that has been automatically added (only party of 3). No apologies or offer to deduct items from bill. May have paid some service if they had.
The food was very good as was the service. The only thing that let it down a bit was our table stuck behind a brick pier obscuring the whole room.
Exceptional service and great quality food. The staff dealt in an exemplary and classy way with all aspects of our brunch - wouldn't hesitate to recommend!
Good choice of food, including a great value early diner menu. Wine was well chilled & delicious and staff were friendly & attentive. Really nice place
I’ve only given a rating of 4 because, although the food was fine the restaurant has too many tables crowded together, making it extremely hard for the staff to manoeuvre around - large trays of plates of food were being carried over peoples heads, not very health & safety. It was also extremely noisy, we couldn’t really have a proper conversation.
Very nice food. Atmosphere good but noise levels very high, almost too high but did appreciate it was Christmas and there were parties present. Décor excellent. Waiting staff very good and you could see they wanted you to enjoy your meal. They cared about what they were doing and were very attentive and professional. We very much enjoyed ourselves.
The staff were delightful, the food very good and the choice amazing. The set menus were well priced. An excellent lunch meeting. We will definitely go again - looking forward to being a regular customer. Is there a loyalty system? Thanks.
Lovely restaurant with friendly helpful staff. Breakfast here was delicious with a varied menu and we will definitely be back to try lunch or dinner!
We had Lovely food and really good service. The guys were very attentive and had good product knowledge. The only negative is the ambiance, it became very difficult to hold a conversation as it got busier
Good service and friendly staff who were polite throughout our meal . The two starters took a while to come but otherwise very good overall.
The Food and service were very good. Lovely decor - beautifully renovated BUT poor acoustics - it’s very noisy and difficult to hold a conversation without shouting/raising your voice.
Lovely food and good kids menu. Generally good service although could have been faster with three under 5 - probably nice for a more leisurely dinner with grown ups!
Much too noisy. Food not very good and service rather slow. Main course was sea bream which was a bit boring , pudding was chocolate mousse which was ok ish.
Great food, good service a nice addition to Harpenden. Only critisism waiter was a bit over keen to fill up wine glasses. definately be going again and will recommend to friends.
New restaurant so teething problems are to be expected. Will return in a few months hoping for an improvement. Was given a free prosecco though!
Service was slow and the discretionary service charge was automatically added, felt somewhat sneaky. Lovely surroundings, food was fine but nothing special. Fish skin was not crispy enough
Very good food at reasonable price. First day for the lady who served us but she was very good and we had a very pleasant lunch
We had a very enjoyable brunch. The food was excellent quality & well cooked (especially the scrambled eggs!!). The staff were all very attentive & polite. Will definitely return.
Not the best. Food was great but it feels like you’re on a conveyor belt. Would recommend it for a quick lunch but not for a relaxing dinner. The set up in Harpenden is very noisy - reminds me of dinner in an old British Rail station Café - and the tables are far too close together. I’m all for great chats with the tables next door when appropriate but it doesn’t add to the evening experience when you’re there as a couple. Again, would be great at lunchtime. Choice of wines good, choice of wines by the glass is poor. Overall it feels like a transition restaurant. The Harpenden brigade will love it for six months then desert it for the next cheap fad.
Good surroundings - understand sound absorption is being dealt with. Nice food with a varied menu. Staff all very helpful and welcoming. Will certainly go there again.
Good evening overall, service a little pushy on speed, would be nice to see the menu change more often rather than just an extra option from the specials. Nice wine list and nice selection of pre dinner drinks
Excellent evening - delicious food and great service. Food was beautifully presented and the staff were attentive and efficient. All in all a very enjoyable dining experience.
Absolutely excellent food and service. If any improvement is needed it is to improve the selection of beers - perhaps adding some from the mainstream.
Lovely atmosphere - every table was occupied which is a good sign. The staff were very helpful and helped me choose my main course as I was torn between two choices. This restaurant is a welcome addition to the town.
From the moment we entered the restaurant we were made to feel more than welcome. The serving staff were excellent as was the food, we would highly recommend Cote Brasserie.
Lovely lunch. Highly recommend the steak and fries from the fixed lunch menu. Great service, food hot and delicious. Bit noisy but not obtrusively so. All in all a great place to eat.
